    I've been using the AW Ultra 2's pacer mode for Frankfurt Halfmarathon and I found it worked incredibly well. For the first 10km, GPS reception was on point...Only 3m off at the 10k mark!

    Thanks for that, very useful info....that's helped me with my pre-drink for London, as I cramp up lately.
    Decathlon do men's half tights now with all those pockets, I got a pair the other month and wore them on a 10K race today. They are great, better than the Soar ones I have and only wore once and cost the earth.
    What do you use on your watch Data Screen set up, ie lap pace / time etc...
    I am also using the Metaspeed Paris for London, amazing shoe.

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  5 месяцев назад

      Nice, which ones from Decathlon do you have? The Evadict trail ones? Very good pockets on those too. Lap pace is the main metric I use, plus the overall predicted time on the watch is quite handy, as long as you account for GPS errors at markers

      Are you going for any headphones on this race? About to run Boston and pondering the jump from my old Jabra 65ts to the Elite Active 8. Tendency for left earbud connection to drop out without case reset in the 65ts is grinding my gears!

    Nick do you still use Peter’s Pacer? I’ve used it before following seeing mentioned here but recently finding it buggy. If not is the alternative just the out of the box Garmin features like pace pro? I like the distance correction with Peters.

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi, sorry I missed this! I haven't used Peter's Pacer in a while as GPS accuracy is good enough on the latest Garmins. I tend to just manual split in dodgy areas like Canary Wharf, or use Garmin's distance and time target and add time on in my head when passing markers!

    Why Sky over Edge? Everyone says Edge is better for cadence and heel to mid foot strikers. I'm a bit confused... Think I am a cadence runner and mid to forefoot striker.

  • @stevephen
    @stevephen 5 месяцев назад +2

    I'm slightly confused about the 320 in soft flasks. 500ml of 320 mix in 3 250ml flasks (166ml 320 per flask), is that right?

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  5 месяцев назад +1

      No all the soft flasks are full, I mix up two bottles of the Maurten, drink the left over either night before or in the morning

      @@TheRunTesters Thank you that makes sense. Any issues carrying 750ml of fluid, that must weigh a fair amount?

    • @Otis220
      @Otis220 4 месяца назад

      Great information Nick! I was curious about this too. 750 ml is approximately 1.65 lbs ( excluding the Maurten & the bottles). I struggled with this decision at Amsterdam last October. Ended wearing a Naked run belt (best belt). over Soar half-tights. (Moving to Bandit tights next for pockets). Carried a 500 ml Hydrapak bottle with M320 mix. Had my wife exchange for a fresh bottle mid-race. Really trying to not carry extra weight but don't like stopping at hydration stops and also not good with drinking from cups. Sorry so long!
