I've always liked magic shows especially live performances. Starting in 1969 my wife and I enjoyed seeing the live shows in Las Vegas especially when the shows could be watched close up. You give a table captain a gambling chip of sufficient value you would get ringside seats. We saw Penn & Teller, the Pendragons, and other important and up and coming magicians of that time. The only show we walked out on early was Seigfried & Roy. They kept reminding the audience to buy their overpriced, schlock souvenirs for sale in the lobby after the show. We did not pay a hefty price for a ticket to get advertisements. We enjoyed all the other performances. 😁

OK..... here we go!!! For one... I literally have had this on my must see list for about 4 years. Today I finally had the time to watch this completely. Man... what an inspiration. Who knows, give me a few more years and I can make this list. Thanks for uploading this. Thanks!!!
52:40 the tank extends beyond the wall so someone can climb into the tank from the top on the other side. depth perception is more difficult looking from air to water because of the high index of refraction. also wouldn't hear because sound is muffled in water. that would be my guess. if you look, you can't see the end of the tank - it looks black instead of the white color of the wall, so it either extends a long way or that black thing is some kind of divider so you don't see the end that extends to the other side of the wall
"It's a beautiful trick, but it's a simple trick, the only trick is that the rose is falling, and there's plenty of mechanical/practical ways to do it." Would you like to make a simple video showing how it is done? like you give it a try and then tell us how easy it is?
I have something to say about the #1 trick shown in this video. Performed by Penn & Teller : the bullet catch. Know that the heat that is produced when the bullet is fired is so high that any kind of paint over the bullet would have been consumed instantly, thus making it impossible to identify them that way. So yeah, this is a sleight of hand that is pretty amazing in the end.
its hard to say which one i would place at the top, i really loved the Tommy Cooper's Multiplying Bottles, i wouldn't put it as number one though. honestly, i think my absolute favorite one would be Harry Blackstone Jnr's Floating Lightbulb trick. i loved how he did that and it was truly magical for me.
: The Chop Cup was the second routine I learned as a kid, the first being The Multiplying Sponge Balls. They're what pulled me away from juggling. Paul Daniels and Ricky Jay were my idols... and still are.
the problem i have with the chris angel water tank trick. is the response the other magicians get. what are they talking about with trap doors and such. the tank was pushed against the wall. covering the front of the tank would allow the wall itself to be pulled up...allowing the girl to move into the front of the tank. which extends past the wall. when she is in the false wall drops back down. trick over.
Yeah i first say on tv magic special the worlds greatest magic specials all five and bill malone performed that card illusion but different numbers with his name in the story card illusion i think he also did it on the Chapman's of magic tv specials
The best thing about the mouse in a blender routine, is the fact that you can literally put it in there and take out another one... THEY ALL LOOK ALIKE! lmao
Which is what most of these trucks are. Everything Dynamo does for example is faked with editing. He's not a real magician coz he can't perform to a real audience.
1:22:47 One can clearly see the initial frame is missing the Hummer that appears slightly late. And also the cut beetween two different shots is visible when the side of the car passes by. I didn't know that video compositing and editing were branches of magic.
what makes me doubt the tower bridge one: a bird covered the whole lens for 1/10 seconds and then the bridge dissapeared, which allowed for a cut and moving to a greenscreen or something,
also on his next trick, with the jeep in the desert, when the car passes the lens, watch it in 0,25 speed and hold space so it goes really slow. The car jumps back 2dm at one point, a obvious cut there, giving him space to jump into the car.
There's only a small group of people shown watching it and they are all grouped tightly together. This trick is done with perspective I think. Similar to a photo of a room put in front of a camera can lead one to think the photo is actually the room. Something similar is done here I think with the aid of mirrors.
Well, to be fair it says TV's greatest magic tricks of all times, not just the greatest magic tricks of all time. If you had an actual list of best magic tricks or performances, it would be much more diverse though I'm sure
Two ways to do the Magic Bullet 1) regurgitation and misdirection 2) low load bullets It's still exceedingly dangerous and should only be done by professionals.
ryan phillips Thats like the goldfish one. You can clearly see the outline on the wall of the fake compartment behind the fishtank that she's hiding in.
ArlanKels Yeah. The guy commenting on that trick says: "She can't be behind a trap door, because then the water would spill out..." Well, unless the compartment behind was ALSO full of water... duh... lol.
The Kevin James sawing a person in half one is *really* cheap. The edited out a *crucial* part of the trick to make it more impressive. I really thought they'd talk about the *whole trick*, cause seeing it for the first time it's still impressive as hell, but they don't. They skip over the same exact part. When I finally saw the unedited version it took away the entire trick. Magicians have a purpose for every move they do. Every move. And as soon as the half man and legs are put on that low rolling trolley thing he gets shoved off stage, for no reason whatsoever. This is what they edit out. And then he get's shoved *back* out, then get's stapled together. If that doesn't tell you everything you need to know, then stick with being mystified, you're better off. But for me, seeing the entire act, it comes off as *kinda* creative, but ultimately comes off as a *very* cheap trick.
I used to be impressed by these shock street magicians, with their own filming and editing. Now it's the cheesiest thing on the planet to me. I also am not a fan of the huge stage productions with all kinds of obvious props. Close up sleight of hand is still amazing.
I agree. Sleight of hand requires actual skill. The other people just use gadgets and props, or edit the video to only show what they want seen. Also a lot of street magicians like Blaine and Angel use plants and stooges, which is lame.
I like Dynamo, he`s so much less pretentious and dramatic than the others. He`s just a guy, that`s really good at magic, not dark and mysterious or glamorous and flamboyant. But David Blaine is just hard core, that guy can blow my mind from a million miles away..
Are you kidding me? Criss fucking Angel? That guy is the biggest hack ever and is not even good at being a hack. How in the world did they not include Cyril? This list sucks.
+Ternadil No there isn't. He never claimed to be an illusionist he claimed to actually have mental powers. He got pantsed by the Amazing Randy and then tried to sue to save his exposed reputation as a liar. Uri Gellar was just another lying Jew that got caught. Wouldn't have been called out if he didn't claim to be real.
Imagine how much viewing time could have been saved had the constant cuts to everyone's little unnecessary comments had been edited out. This music video ADHD editing method made this unwatchable for myself and I gave up before the third act. I was hoping to see the actual act and not have to wade through a series of abrupt asides from no one in particular weighing in to add yet another insipid remark and, thus, their pointless seconds of face-time.
+Tony BearJug Yea I know, but it was still a "magic trick"... It was only a kind of backwards magic trick, in that he was actually doing what he wanted people to think was an illusion, instead of the only way around..

I M INTRIGUED. PERHAPS, THAT'S THEIR GOD GIVEN GIFT FOR ENTERTAINMENT...
That sad moment when you realize that 2002 is getting to be a long time ago.
The sad moment you realize this post was 3 years ago
@notfiveo
well deserved no. 1
-saw piff
-was happy
Brilliant entertainment. Certainly magic props used with allusion. Everyone loves magic so who cares how it's done.
So like 70% of the greatest magic tricks of all time happened to be by British acts? Riiigghhhtt.
+Horicert
I know, right? Some of my favorite acts are Asian, or especially Middle Eastern. Some awesome magicians around the whole world, really.
Well, to be fair it says TV's greatest magic tricks of all times, not just the greatest magic tricks of all time. If you had an actual list of best magic tricks or performances, it would be much more diverse though I'm sure
They seem to talk shit about every American magician......
Two ways to do the Magic Bullet
1) regurgitation and misdirection
2) low load bullets
It's still exceedingly dangerous and should only be done by professionals.
Too much talk at the wrong moment...especially telling us what is about to happen.
its sad that the number one trick is the only one where i know exactly how it works
(still, it's a brilliant trick and i adore Penn and Teller)
I disagree with some of the orders.
That is awesome! i watched it all :O
people were impressed by card through a window?
you practically see the guy inside glue it to the glass
and then snicker about it.
ryan phillips
Thats like the goldfish one. You can clearly see the outline on the wall of the fake compartment behind the fishtank that she's hiding in.
ArlanKels
Yeah. The guy commenting on that trick says: "She can't be behind a trap door, because then the water would spill out..."
Well, unless the compartment behind was ALSO full of water... duh... lol.
ArlanKels yes, an "inside mirrors" work.
WOW. Such an amazing show
This video would be so amazing without all the people constantly talking.
those accents are rough to understand at times lol

ah! number one of course. This is great love Penn and Teller.
But for me, seeing the entire act, it comes off as *kinda* creative, but ultimately comes off as a *very* cheap trick.
yeah i agree with ya. soon as i saw em wheeled the sawed guy out i knew they had changed the person.
#10 I remember seeing this on TV and it was so astonishing I couldn't believe it, still can't!
Would have been much better if there weren't so many people commenting in the middle of the clips!!
penn and teller have to be the best magicians
Are you kidding me? Criss fucking Angel? That guy is the biggest hack ever and is not even good at being a hack. How in the world did they not include Cyril? This list sucks.
Hi Cyril.
+Frank Iparraguirre well, there is uri geller too..
+Ternadil
No there isn't.
Nuckelhedd Jones
i know this, and that's not what i ment
cyril and yif they're the best for me I stopped watching chris after I saw those two lol
RIP Paul Daniels.
You were a legend.
Imagine how much viewing time could have been saved had the constant cuts to everyone's little unnecessary comments had been edited out. This music video ADHD editing method made this unwatchable for myself and I gave up before the third act. I was hoping to see the actual act and not have to wade through a series of abrupt asides from no one in particular weighing in to add yet another insipid remark and, thus, their pointless seconds of face-time.
thanks for the video
1:06:30 (marking my place for later)
i stop at ur time so i can continue later without making my own stop hahahaha
Jack Bandit Toto toto
I made it further than you
Anything new captures interest and imagination of the viewers
David Blaine's 2013 What is Magic special had several tricks that could be on this list.. ie. The Icepick..
That's not a trick. He actually shoved the spike through his hand. There is a tunnel of scar tissue running through his hand
+Tony BearJug Yea I know, but it was still a "magic trick"... It was only a kind of backwards magic trick, in that he was actually doing what he wanted people to think was an illusion, instead of the only way around..
Man....CRISS ANGEL LNOWS THEM ALL! HE IS REAL
The realest.
