Flex Wheeler's Back Widow is one of the most versatile back attachments ever created. It not only has about 9 different handle angles, but it also doubles as a deadlift jack and landmine handle. Yes, it's expensive, but there's a lot to it for lat pulldowns, low rows, curls, tricep pushdowns, and the like. If you're someone that likes a lot of different options in a compact form, the Back Widow is hard to beat.

The perfect addition to my $ 25 DIY pulley!
Like putting the 2k sound system in the $500 beater lol
This comment killed me :D :D :D
@@sirfrancisbacon4344 like my first car lol a cavalier with 15 in subs lol
Like buying fancy attachments for a budget AR-15.
I'm unironically the type of guy who would do this
So wait for Titan's version is what you're sayin?
hawkboyutube Too complicated for Titan.
No, he saying to wait for the titan version 2 of it.
Ok, Edit Guy. You need a raise! Dying at the sensual music bit
Look at coop knowing we're all hoarders at heart.
Thanks for the honest review; really appreciate it! To me it isn’t worth $300, but maybe $200.
I'll sell you mine for 200
All the cons that coop point out are on point. And hope the company listen to there consumers and fix those issues that were addressed
Hey great information on product, your great about that and giving your honest opinion & review on all products you have and use
I actually have one. Bought it with my Rogue RM-4 rack and other various things during the Black November "sale" last year. I agree the lack of a wide option is limiting. However I am overall happy with it. But as I don't have a slinger attachment (or similar) yet, I just use it as a jack and landmine attachment. I WAS training additionally at a fully equipped private training gym (closed due to Pandemic at the moment) so it's not getting as much use as it was or potentially could.
As to price: Yes I probably could have saved a few bucks by buying several stand alone options. And it's expensive for what it is, the price difference wasn't enough to impact my decision one way or the other. I was already several thousand into my purchase at that point, so what appeared to be maybe a hundred more vs. other options I was considering.
Take away: As you say, home fitness is a luxury good market. So this dovetails into that way of thinking.
agree with everything you said, and i also love it and use it almost every day in training
"Would you spend $299 on this?"
lol no
Jimmy Rustles No way in hell. I don’t care if Jesus made it.
It's only worth it if you need all of those attachments- like your home set up- or, if your gym sucks with attachments. Hopefully, it'll sell enough to drop around $150. It does replace probably around $300 worth of equipment
nah, but it's $250 now.
lol yes
Yes. It’s a space saver and if you are just starting your cable set up then yes it makes sense. If you already have attachments then nope.
It's on my list of things I'll buy when I can swing it
Good honest review .
Thank you
Dude, bought this- showed a few friends, and everyone loves it.
People ask to borrow it all of the time.
He does offer the ability to pay in installments, and, there are also times it's 10%-15% off. Once, it was 20% off on back order.
Hits the back perfectly- like you're using a machine. Worth the money
Got mine today and I live in Canada so paid a shit ton in delivery fees, currency conversion, and duty. Definitely well built and designed. Shame it can't go wider. Got it so I could avoid having all the attachments, but now I sorta regret it.
How much did you pay?
I'll wait for the $135 titan knock off
Idk why I’m OCD with stuff that has “multi” purpose. I’d rather spend an extra 50-100 bucks & have every piece individual.
Well often the jack of all trades things tend not to do anything great and instead do alot of things adequately.
space saving
houses are only getting smaller
Ted Nicholas I’m pretty sure even a 800sqft apartment can store a couple cable attachments lol
Agreed
great review! thank you
This is one of a few things that aren’t sold out lol.
It was for a long time, actually.
Thank you mate, honestly I love this product. Can’t wait to have it one day
I have been debating on this for a while. Seen good and positive reviews. It's just the price that's a buzz kill but maybe I'll invest within this year and see how it goes..I appreciate the review and the "How to's"
Did you end up purchasing it? How was it if so?
I read your full review. It was useful and i like it. I decided to go for it and I think the best is the versatility of this attachment. The one I bought from Rouge came with no carabiner and the handles are plastic. So I am not sure what version is it. Still pay same price (299$) and no difference. Thanks Coop
To keep a gym compact if you don’t have a ton of space this is nice as well. If you can make full use of it it’s not a bad value. Not for everyone but it’s definitely worth looking into to save some space
I spent 220$ on 3 mag grip attachments...close, medium and wide neutrals. Best investment for my back work movement on my powertec. The neutral mag grip also helped reduce my “tennis elbow” and forearm tightness in general. I can see if you are serious about accessory work or hypertrophy training you might add this black widow.
Man, I do love Mag Grips. Have you tried out RO-T8 handles yet?
Garage Gym Reviews no I have not. I’m in the middle of moving across the country and temporarily down sizing my garage gym set up. I look to vicariously live my garage gym dreams through channels like yours until I can start adding items to my set up again!
Love my mag grips as well. I'd consider this or the Prime handles if I didn't already have those.
@@GarageGymReviews Do you recommend the RO-T8 4N1 handle over mag grip attachments?
Garage Gym Reviews could we get a video comparison? Or at least reviews , maybe I am being dumb, but the RO-T8 handles confuse me. A video would be sweet... anyway thanks Coop for all you do.
Flex Wheeler is a legend. Incredible physic in his day
Yet another superb equipment attachment
Very Interesting. One thing is that I think most people who have a Lat Pulldown will already have a long lat bar. Many of the lat pulldowns that I've seen include a long lat bar with the base price. This would take care of most if not all of your other cable attachment needs. I really like that it can be used as a landmine sleeve and as a deadlift jack. That adds a lot of extra functionality for the price.
This was something I was thinking too. You'd really only need a lat bar to get by in addition to this and you'd have a LOT of options.
Coop, great review and interesting piece of equipment due to its versatility construction... But I had a question on the pulley system set you have, what are you using?
I haven't used one, but I like the idea. I am limited on space in my garage gym, so I do like things that are multi-purpose. I think that I might like Spud Inc.'s lat pulldown attachment gizmo thing better, though. Do a review on it, please, if you haven't already. I never buy anything without checking here first.
With it being a deadlift Jack and all sorts of different attachments in one, bring a space saver it was worth it to me to add to my home gym. I also found a coupon code online for 25% off, so it was a no brainer for me. Can't wait till it comes in!
Those are really cool.
So many say it's too expensive for what it is. I can agree with that but I still might want it on my list. I just recieved the ironmaster ultimate row handle and it's possible it could be better than this backwidow. It's very heavy duty, it can do chest flys using one cable and its less than half the price of the back widow! 120 plus free shipping for the ironmaster master competitor. And didn't get charged tax...
it's perfect for basement or garage gym. it can do a lot for such a small piece saves huge room and also is a bar jack
Assembly by myself was not too hard. I took my time and followed the diagrams. I particularly like the pictures and names of the exercises organized by muscle groups on the front of the ruclips.net/user/postUgkxKJHyBZ9I1py9vVi-XLpEBg0y-qmdhn3q . Considering the number of exercises it has a relatively small footprint. I needed a machine that was not too tall because I only have 79" headroom in my cabin and this was just over 78". It is easy to use, seems to be well made, and I am pleased with my purchase. I am doing upper body muscles on Monday and Thursday. Lower body exercises are being done on Tuesday and Friday. Not using it on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. I am a reasonably fit 66 year old man and this is a great workout.
Great video coop. Im on the fence on this back widow & wondering if you can get a better wide lat pull angle on these if you use something like the lifting straps?
I've been on the fence on getting this. I think it's worth it due to build quality and functionality. However, I'm wondering if they will produce a 2.0 version that adds more functionality.
Great review because I was almost certainly going to buy it but hadn't realized (or maybe ignored?) the max width. I suppose it's not a dealbreaker, but due to the folding design, I don't understand why you can't extend the width of the grips on the last articulating handle and the primary bars to provide that desired width. That said, as with most jack of all trades, it's not surprising that it's not a master of any one. So close, would buy for half that price.
To buy all that it replaces, certainly around a similar price. It really seems like it's for the hardcore market- and it was designed to fulfill the needs Flex said he had while training (as well as the difficulty in consistently finding the needed attachments). It'll probably drop in price as time goes on. The price is high for a lot of people- and they won't get the use out of it. If you already have or plan to put together a decent set up- it's dope. You can tell a pro made this
Looks like a high quality material, and from what you said, it is very strong. I Like the idea of versatility, I do agree with you. A little high price for average gym owner.Yes!! Thanks Coop for providing us with more options in the market. I think is good to know what are all the options available.

Walter
Pretty sure in the landmine configuration you should have the knobs facing you so you don’t have to slide the weight back every time to adjust it.
I just got one in today. I like it. As beautiful as it is I think I have to accept the paint is going to chip. You forgot one function you can actually put a dumbbell in there and use it like a t bar row.
Have you tried the Ironmaster ultimate row handle? Great bit of kit worth reviewing 💪🏻
I have it also. I honestly think ironmasters is better. Especially how they designed to for chest flys
They put alot of time in on it's design.
Hey Coop, how did you setup the rhino belt squat to do lat pull downs? Looks like an extra cross member in the middle of the rack with a slinger on top? Do you think that setup could be replicated on an RM-6?
Not sure if someone mentioned this already but Ironmaster makes something similar called the Ultimate Row Handle for $119. You don’t get as many options but it’s 1/3 of the price.
I canceled my deadlift jack and other attachments and put the ordered in for this. I have a big Basement, but I still don't like clutter.
What is the power rack called in the back ground ?
Too bad we dont have this sort of equipment an variety here in the Uk
I sort of regret dumping $300+ (with shipping) into this. I will need to buy a separate standard wide pull up bar for pronated grip work. The narrowest setting for seated cable row or t-bar row is still a bit wider than I'm used to at commercial gyms. I'd say that most of the grips and widths you can use are all just a bit awkward.
The widest neutral grip feels okay. The straight bar section is also fine for narrow supinated pulldown, tricep pressdown, and bicep curls.
I DO use it as a deadlift jack very often. That feature is actually what pushed me over the edge to purchase it.
One thing Coop doesn't mention is that you can nestle a dumbbell in the scoop on the bottom for some (limited) dumbbell rowing options, as well.
What is that “coop” attachment that lets you use the belt squat to do your lat stuff? It’s what I want
I can tell you with experience, no multitool of any kind are never better than cheap but dedicated tool with single purpose.
This is cool, but I’ll keep it simple with my MAG Wide Pronate and Medium Supinate. Those two options have given me all the variation I need. KISS works.
How much does it weigh? It was mentioned enough that it was heavy and makes me wonder how much it lightens the weight people are moving
9.25 lbs
I dont have cable opportunity so i only use it for landmine rows. But even then i think its worth it. Wish i had access to that awesome rack of yours though 😬
I got it and it is dope.
What are your thoughts on Power USA G3 rack? Could you do a review?
Looks like an oversized can opener..can you open a bottle with that?
The thing about this piece is when you wanna do close grip lat pull downs it adds like 12 inches of lenght to it so it will be hard to get a full extension while doing lat pull downs"?
You should have made a list of uses
An aluminum version might be nice. Lighter weight, maybe a bit less expensive.
That thumbnail showcases the next step in evolution: the mecha-human.
BECOME ONE WITH THE WIDOW>>>
Hey Coop, would this work for a Landmine press? Would it hold up?
Thx
Who makes the pulley system attached to the back of your rack?
I have prime fitness cable attachments, but I don’t have a deadlift jack or any landmine accessories. Is it good enough at being a landmine or jack to purchase it? I’d prefer having less attachments if it’s actually great at those things.
I really like the landmine functionality. It works for a deadlift jack, but it will also hurt your knurling due to metal on metal contact.
I want this
I love mine! I skeptical thinking it was plastic. Luckily it’s all metal.
How does it compare to mag grips?
“All these different angels you can use in one compact unit”
I want one!
Looks like something from QVC, to complement the Tony Little Gazelle.
For doing lat pull downs: can you grip the U-shape part if you turned it around when using it at 5:45?
I would think that would allow for a wider grip but possibly not all the fingers wrapping around.
I mentioned this later in the video. It's actually a bit to short to fit your whole hand on. You can grab it, but I wish it were wider to fit your hand in.
@@GarageGymReviews I saw that you can't fit your hand inside, can you grip it well on the opposite side outside of the U? I would think the pinky finger wouldn't get a good grip but that's something I can possibly deal with for only one attachment.
Love the review, been waiting for it for awhile since I saw this attachment in one of your videos.
$299?? And for that reason, I’m out
😂 lol Mark is that you?
@@CC-ip3ve thats Barbara 😑
I think it's actually perfect for people who don't want attachments laying all over the place. But you'd have to buy two for cable crossovers...hmmmmpphhh...maybe they should make the handles adjustable width wise liek you said but also make them removable and be able to attach them to a DAP machine.
I like the deadlift jacke use! I could use something better than what I do now! But not to the tune of 300.00
Primal strength do a version in the uk called the back scorpion. Its £150 but you can get 10-15% off
That thing is gorgeous. But I prefer individual handles, even taking cost out of it.
What pulley system are you using?
hello i would like to know how can i get a gym like yours am from mexico and let me kwoy where can i get the equipment awesome chanel thank u
I like this. Price is redonk though.
most of the times i'm having issues with the audio, i cannot hear you coop :/
How do you think it compares to the Mag grip attachments?
Quite a bit different. I like Mag Grips because of the angled handles, but they are very different.
@@GarageGymReviews if the cost was comparable which would you choose.
It's not expensive. It's worth it.
Hmm impressive
This looks like something that does a lot of things, but none of them as well as the original. I prefer something that goes the opposite direction. It takes a traditional attachment and makes it even better. For example, MAG Grip. I'll take a specialist over a jack of all trades any day of the week.
is the coupon link expired? went all the way to checkout and nothing changed
X2
Forget the Back Widow, where can I get that sweater? Colors look dope.
Haha good ol' North Face
@@GarageGymReviews I spent a good 15 minutes looking for it. Found a picture of it but nothing in stock.
@@mulchman Dang, it's a couple years old.
Can somebody tell me if it comes with the carabiner?
Black gas pipes multiple sizes with all the right bends. Eye bolts welded or drilled and bolted in the middle. You can do a lot with scrap pipe for free!! Even build railings or dip bars. I don't know if I'd drop $299? Hehehe no..
I bought my whole home gym for 600$. A power rack with a pulley system, a weight bench, some bars and weights and this stupid attachment cost 300$ lol
What kind of pulley system? Or just similar to a DIY?
does coop has said something about power rack with pulleys (either plate-loaded or weight stack), because, most of the home gyms, ar focused on powerlifting and they don't give a f*** about high or low pulleys, and i´m kind of looking for racks with them pulleys, do you have any recommendations?
roman ulises silva contreras I bought a “Body solid” power rack with a lat pull down. Got it second hand. You should look up on secondhand sites for good prices.
jim reuss “Body Solid” power rack
I'm 12000 into mine hahahaha. All rogue everything
About 10 months of my gym membership
Garage Gym Reviews - Tip: Instead of saying it's very heavy, just weight it and say it weighs x amount of lbs.
HDPE is High Density Polyethylene
What is the cable attached to? And how would you increase resistance? It would also be helpful if you outlined what other equipment (squat rack, pulley system) is in the background and needed for the back widow to work.
I think the best way u can describe this back widow handle(I call it a handle)is the fact that it's just a handle that u attach to ur lat pull up machine of any type even to the std. Lat pulldown machine of any gym let alone this particular one he has attached to which is part of his power rack. In short the back widow doesn't increase the resistance or anything like that it just changes the angle at which u will place ur hands which I think as per the idea behind it it is to help in changing the type of back muscle u will hit or help one to feel the pump in a different back muscle each time u change it's varying angles. As for the resistance it's up to u the user in how u will change the setting of the machine that u have attached ur black widow to, e.g:If u say attach it to the common lat pulldown machine of ur gym u will change the resistance via the pin on ur weight stack of any std. Gym machine as is usually done, in no way is the resistance connected to the handle. For his particular lat pulldown machine attached to his power rack he changes the resistance by attaching the std.barbell/dumbell removable weights to it. For more close up to search this machine that u seem to be keen in knowing it's workings u may goggle " Lat pulldown machine attached to power racks" Am sure videos and photos will pop up for u to see the mechanism involved.
Anyone tried the iron master multi attachment?
If you buy one make sure you wear gloves so you don't skin your knuckles while you're constantly re-adjusting it. 3:05
Flex Wheeler the genetic king!
AMAZING physique
Missed its use as a viking press attachment...
OOOOH, that's one I'll have to try
I love the idea but between the price and the fact that it's essentially reducing the weight of all your pulldown movements I don't see how I could ever justify it.
Lol wut. This makes NO sense
Definitely comes down to personal preference. The cost of all of the attachments individually that this all-in-one would replace is probably around the same cost. What’s their warranty? I can see a lot of wear-and -tear being an issue over time.
Waaay overpriced.
Probably being new- it took a lot to create. But, it does replace a crap load of equipment. I see this as probably being more for the hardcore market
How is it overpriced ?
Waiting for the clone to hit aliexpress or banggood
Not made in USA according to Rogue Fitness website.
Thank you
lmfao flip it around for a wide lat pulldown
If you’re going big, does saving space even matter to the audience Rogue targets? I see more none rogue users using it than people who have rogue rigs, lol.
