Brandon that opening scene came after the scene at the TVA where Paradox told Deadpool all about killing his whole timeline, and Deadpool broke his nose and stole his TemPad travel device and set out to find a Wolverine that had died to dig him up because he was sure he was alive through regeneration. But He was actually dead and was just a skeleton. When those TVA agents that turned up they weren't some random guys he killed they were there to kill him. They were the same TVA agents that had kidnapped him and took him to the TVA. The same ones he had escaped from to go looking for Logan. They even had a scene telling that's how he got to that opening credits scene. You might need to watch the movie a third time. Plus why rag on the end scene where he was there with his friends, the rescuees(made up but it should be a word) and the other Time Line Wolverine when that was the whole point of his quest to save his friends and TimeLine. That was the accomplishment of his goal.
I'll be honest the Blade line hit kinda hard. I assumed it was meant to be good natured, yet unfiltered shade over the ridiculousness of a 5 year production for MCU Blade. If they don't get there ass off their shoulders, "there's only one Blade, there's only ever gonna be one blade" would be true. Get on it Marvel.
I'm not surprised that Gambit survived, for those who know him know that he's very capable of coming out alive of that candy of treat level and above. I loved that they didn't waste the resistance team like in the Universe of Madness. My very humble opinion
Dude when Wolsey made that “I’m the only blade line” it was a set up of a joke , for Ryan to look in the camera the way he did . It went over yall heads
The internet ruined 3 cameos for me through thumbnails. Have to remember about the Blade line that Reynolds keeps his ears to the ground, so he knows that people are waiting for Blade. So it was another riff on Marvel.
The Blade Quote was much needed. It was a shot fired at MCU yet again for what they are doing with Blade. I can see Eman's view as well but a lot of the movie was based on picking at the MCU for all of their mishaps. With Deadpool looking at the screen after OG Blade said it was classic! Just think if it were RDJ referring to Iron Man while if they were rebooting another Tony Starke. It would have the same effect. Its one of those "Put some RESPEK on my name" scenes for an original character. :-).
I was also excited to see Elektra. Jennifer Gardner still looks great, I just wish the costume was a brighter red (even though it might have classed with Deadpool’s costume) Wasn’t digging Wesley’s white beard but the streak in the hair was cool. Wish he would have been bald instead. Gambit was tacky only because of the bright brown coat. The coat clashed with the armor underneath. Channing Tatum should have lost some weight because gambit is a bit more lean than that. X-23’s outfit was wack. Should have been the black leather with the chains costume from MVC3. Blade and Elektra were my favorite cameos.
Deadpool told (hugh jackman) Wolverine "Youre joining at a low point" when he brought him back to the TVA after the bar fight. Wasnt Cavil. Just wanted to clarify.
very surprised Ryan chose Wesley to be in the movie...everyone heard those stories of how Wesley was a prick on the set of BLADE 3.

Not liking the opening is crazy. That was pure Deadpool. Also the Wesley thing wasn’t that serious. It was a set up for a joke….also I thought the end credits was great..Ryan Reynolds said this movie isn’t setting anything up so I thought it worked
YEP! I thought the same! But I figured that they made a choice between Blade and Gambit having the long coat look. It didn't HAVE to be a competition but I get it! I agree with you though!🎯🎯
I didn’t get that from “the line” … I just took it as a shot At Marvel or Westly just talking smack… it wasn’t that deep for me… at the end of the day it’s Deadpool so there’s a lot of mindless stuff you’re gonna get from it..
I'll say this, the only real issue with the mask other than the crew members not given enough time to fully improve on the details was it was CG FX'D on Hugh's face giving off an awkward appearance. But...once Wolverine & Deadpool confront Paradox both after the Deadpool Corp. and defeat of Cassandra Nova you see he's actually wearing the real mask and it looks FAR MORE AMAZING than its intro debut. Meaning, MASK WOLVERINE WORKS!
Watched it on Friday. It was ok. I agree with E-man, it did not set any direction for the MCU. I love seeing Wesley Snipes but I did not like that line about being the only blade.
Wolvie is #1 to me. By that I mean his comic run. As a kid I just thought he was cool. As I got older the trauma and grit of character got me 100%. That being said, I'm not a purist. I don't care about the height per se. I care about his height in relation to Sabretooth's height. Tooth has to be able to call him runt. Tooth has to be a 1'6" to 2' taller and 200 pounds heavier (minus the adamantium). Tooth is physically superior to him in every way by far, except agility. That's why Tooth wins 80% of the time. Wolvie wins the war after losing a lot of the battles. That's why it works.
The movie was underwhelming to say the least. 90% of the "jokes" weren't funny. And introducing characters of old, only to immediately sideline them for the final scene was terrible. They could have at least invited them to dinner in DP's universe in the end. It was just... bad.
Now I realized why they didn't have Wolverine wear the mask like in the comic because the performance of jackman gets loss after he puts on mask seeing his face makes all the different in knowing it was really him under the mask
Completely agree with E-Man on the Blade line, it wasn't funny and I didn't get the point. They know we are waiting, it would have been better to make a joke about how long it's taking. Definitely could have done without the Deadpool variants, wasn't interested in them at all and they didn't really serve a purpose. Had fun with the movie for sure, but I didn't see the point of the actual story 🤷🏿♂️
I sorta get why E-Man was bothered by the Blade line (didn’t bother me at all), but I mean it wasn’t even true because there already has been another live-action Blade via that tv show that aired on… Spike, I wanna say.
E-man, I think you’re taking the blade line a little too seriously! I think it was a joke at the whole “there will only ever be one thing”. The fact that Deadpool looked to the camera when he said that was a forth wall break that he and we know Maahershala Ali will be Blade in the MCU. If anything it was more of a confirmation that they will be doing Blade despite all the drama! I feel your passsion on this, especially with how they treated T’Challa killing off the character because Chadwick died and this whole there can only be one with black male heroic characters in films. But I don’t think that’s what this was!
Great review, fellas I enjoyed the film but agree with y'alls critiques especially with what Brandon said about the DEADPOOL Corps that was a waste and you could tell Ryan prob added that part its why I'm not a fan of actors having a input in these superhero films writing room. For me it was like that bad chick you finally crack and then think it was deso. The cameos is what made it. Loved seeing gambit get down. Was let down with the sabretooth fight. I think the blade line was more of a shot at the studio for all the delays than a shot at Ali.
I came here to say that. It was more tongue and cheek at the studios' delay than at Ali. Which is why Deadpool looked at the camera.
