This is really creative. I have a Huey and I've been waiting to build it until I can find the right metal etched pieces. I want to do it right. I've learned a lot about Vietnam and want to do our service men justice. Plus I think it looks better. Very cool, can't wait to see what diorama you add this to. Well done buddy

I was thinking about getting this kit. You helped my decision process.
Nice idea, well executed. One thing though, It's supposed to be a derelict. I suppose depending on the scene for the diorama I'd remove a few parts, spares that might have been salvaged for other choppers, like the rotor blades and the tail rotor. Perhaps the engine? Guess it depends on where it is and who is living in it. Post Viet Nam war, a family of Vietnamese? On a US base, off to one side in the bone yard, turned into a hooch by one of the mechanics or a pilot? Who knows. Looking forward to the diorama. Should be an interesting story told there.

This is great work, exceptionally wheatered, very cozy shelter to survive in. as a resident i d just remove those rotor blades, since wind can easily catch them a capsize the heli and destroy all the place...

Agreed, I used to follow Plasmo, but all he does (or predominantly) are the 1/72 kits, I find them boring, regardless of the skill with which they are built.

The best helicopter ever built I wish that the. U.s military never replaced it for the black hock because if you get in a crash you can get out alive in one peace and they can salvage it and replace the broken parts and get it back in the fight but if that happens to a black hock you can't salvage it you will have to destroy it so it won't fall in the wrong hands
