I love the seven seas anime art style books. We have a few of them as well as the classic mangas. Since my daughters love this art style it makes them so much more interested in the classic books.
Robin Hood by Howard Pyle was a win here this year! Ah and the Little Princess! I didn’t know there was a ‘95 movie! I can only picture Shirley Temple! We’ve also struggled with WTP, but your making me want to give it another try lol I love books for Easter too! We usually do that and a treat and a baby plant :)🪴
I LOVE the idea of a baby plant for Easter, such a great idea! I am totally biased because I grew up watching the 1995 A Little Princess but it's a million times better than the Shirley Temple version (now I think people will come after me).
I’ve been reading a few of Shakespeare’s plays alongside The Literary Life Podcast’s old episodes. They’ve done A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Othello and Winter’s Tale. Super helpful, fun and educational! Also just got A Little Princess and The Secret Garden and I’m super excited to read those with my daughter this spring 😊
@@IntentionalHomeschooling they go through a lot of classic books and C.S. Lewis as well! I just finished Mansfield Park with some older episodes. They’re a great find!
So glad you mentioned No Fear Shakespeare at BookOutlet. I had already ordered Twelfth Night from Amazon to use as a play study in the 5th grade. I will order the other NoFears under your link. Mastery is great if your kids want to go at their own pace. Spiral seems trickier in that regard. We use Math-U-See for mastery but I have seen a few people who really like Learn Math Fast. BTW, my daughter read a bunch of books because your daughter did reviews on them on your channel: Bliss, Winterhouse and (I think) Pre-Meditated Myrtle & Wishmakers. Thanks!
I love Winnie-the-Pooh books but I don't love reading them aloud. My kids are older now but they all loved them. I'm sure I'll be reading them to grandkids one day. 😅 We also use Learn Math Fast and we are CM/eclectic, and it works great for my kids. Math is my weak point.
So many great books!! The A.A. Milne poetry books are not among my favorite, but my kids love them so much. I'm definitely going to check out that Bible Atlas!

Did you adopt again, or do you have other foster kids? Have your kids read about Corrie Ten Boom? My kids learned about her in our homeschool co-op this year 😊
Our foster kids came back into our home about ten months ago, the same ones we've had for the past few years on and off. And yes, we have read the Christian Heroes Corrie Ten Boom and my daughter and I both love The Hiding Place!
We used Learn Math Fast to cover everything again to prepare for algebra. It was great. It went over everything to make sure there was no holes in her knowledge. Now we use Denison Algebra which I can’t say enough good things about.
Love the Pyle version of Robin Hood! There's a great audio version on Libby too. Pollyanna is a sweet book, but the movie was awful by comparison. Much like Heidi the movies cut out all the beauty of the books. Those Pooh prints look like beautiful copies. We have the treasury and it's just too big to read with littles I feel. Also, Ms. Rumphius is a delight! My 5 year old absolutely loves the Biggest Story Bible. There are two trailblazer series about missionaries. The older version by the Benge's is for upper elementary (grades 3+). The new version (you can tell by cover) are upper elementary to middle school. My kids devour both! Of course YWAM is amazing! My 8th grader just finished Kisses from Katie and loved it. She loves music, so I think I'm going to assign Then Sings My Soul or similar next year for her to read about some of the composers of the classic hymns.
Yes, we've read a number of the Trail Blazers books as well! I have enjoyed some of them, I felt like they weren't as consistent as the YWAM books, we've enjoyed those ones more. Then Sings My Soul is a great book! I haven't used it much with my kids but I remember my high school choir teacher reading them with us and I loved it.
Great book haul! The Shakespeare books sound so cool! That's the only way I would get through his work!

Yes, I think there is something to that, if they can be interested by the cover or interior art it helps remove a bit of a barrier to some classics.

I hear you on that, the giant bind ups and treasuries can be hard to read from.
If you want a VERY hefty reference book for yourself that can be helpful with Shakespeare, I recommend Shakespeare After All by Garber.
