Thanks for completing the review of the SLR4 line. I think Vaughn made solid improvements on the pads, specially on the stiffness like you mentionned. Getting my custom set in September hopefully !

Definitely not the only person complaining about the knee block and painful knees. I picked up some SLR3 pro carbon pads to try out. Coming from Optik2s I could skate in 3 days in a row, no problem with my CCM KP Pro knee pads. With the SLR3s though, I feel like I have to ice my knees after each skate. Love pretty much everything else about the pads though.

Try G-form kneepads under your ccm kneepads. Never got issues with the kneeblock of my slr3 Set.

Knee blocks should be padded enough that you don't need extra ones.

@@HockeyReviews this is the way. I’ve tried volleyball pads and such and hated the way it felt. Much prefer just straight knee pads onto the knee block.

I just did the Tendyfest demo day and this was my favourite pad I tried. Sliding is unmatched. I have Ultrasonics now and while the SLR4 it feels like it is a bit more maneuverable as well. I did like the G7’s as well but I found the knee blocks to be a bit too thick for my liking

I think the best is a mix of both worlds, stiff AND curved pads. At the moment rocking the Brian’s iconik that I got stiffed up and not complaining. But you can also get stiffed up hyperlites2 they are pretty curved and light

The stiffer you go with Bauer pads, the straighter they become. So if you want a curved option they are on the softer side of things.

Just at the 5 minute mark so maybe it will come later on but did you confirm if this slr4 was the stock off the shelf stiffness or the extra stiff option?

These pads are the stock SLR 4 Pro Carbon stiffness

Would love to get your opinion on the Brian's Iconik line, if they have a demo set at just hockey.
