The train stalled on the first section of the ride (probably due to high winds). A 5th train was added to the track and the ride operator wasn't told, the operator then saw 4 trains at the station and therefore assumed that the track was clear. A train of people was then released and it stopped at the top of the lift because of a safety mechanism to stop two trains being on the same part of the track. The ride was then overridden and the train was sent over the lift causing the crash to occur.
Kieran Calverley Thanks for explaining that incident. I just came across this story and although I'm a sucker for accents, sometimes I can't fully understand.
no. this is the actual story. so there was 4 trains on the track but because it was a busy day the ride operator decided to add a 5th train. the train full of people got stuck at the top of the lift hill so an engineer was called to fix it. once everything was fixed everything was alright but because the engineer didn’t know about the 5th train safety features weren’t added to the ride because whenever a train gets in a certain distance with another it stops but the safety features weren’t added so it crashed.
sophierose you clearly don’t know what you are talking about. Of course there was a system in place before the crash which didn’t allow two trains on the same piece of track. Otherwise many accidents like this would have happened in the past. It was over ridden by an engineer. More safety features have been added so it can now not easily be over ridden by operators .
Operator : Hmmmm why is the passenger car stalled ? (Doesnt even get up to look. (Clearly) oh well, I guess I will just override it . RollerCoaster: ding ding ding ( I usually bring cars to a complete stop when there is something wrong, like cars being too close together, or a malfuction in my system, or when there might be something wrong with the track.) This was a terrible explanation of the crash. You have no knowledge of the situation or what actually happened. As a result it's clear that you are just reading from the BBC news page. The Smiler had passed several H&S checks prior to the crash, otherwise it would not have been open. Roller coasters have to be signed off and approved to operate. Jingle YaBombz the smiler runs on 3-4 trains depending on it being a peak or off peak day. Train 1 will be on the second block of the circuit when train 2 is sent onto block 1, train 3 goes to the station as this happens. Train 1 stalled mid course. A human overrode the system sending train 2 out. It was stalled at the lift hill due to the sensors on the ride. The train was sent around as you can see causing the 2 trains to collide. The ride is perfectly safe and was working fine clearly. The wind alarm did not go off, probably due to sensors and how frequent the winds were meaning it was okay. They should have seen the train stalled correct. The ride is safe, always has been. Always will be.
Hey buddy, you do understand this ride is perfectly safe, and any other ride with 2 trains+, this was just a fault that is extremely rare to happen, Alton towers and other parks had extreme caution to their guests, now they have even more after this incident, you can’t say rides can be absolutely dangerous. Rollercoasters are one of the safest things you can do. Safer than even being in a car. So don’t say that it’s dangerous and should be banned, that’s just absurd.
3:41 explanation: the engineer whatever it’s called never told the worker that the 5th train got let out so he had no idea and thought 4 trains were on the ride
The main reason they didn't notice it come back is because the ride operators decided to transfer a 5th train onto the track. The engineers didn't know this and believed there was only 4 trains on the smiler at the time. So when the 5th added train stalled. They checked and saw 4 trains in the station and believed it was a carryover from the lift 2 fault earlier that day. Could have all been avoided if the operators decided to tell the engineers that they added another train. Smiler is a great ride. I went on it recently. It hasn't had an accident since I believe. And they added new safety protocols. Nothing like this should or would happen again
This ride is now perfectly safe...by the way use of language is awful....I've been in this ride lots of times and what happened is bad I hope nothing such as this will ever happen again...and boi do your research ._.
For everyone that’s worried to go on The Smiler, this incident was caused by human error, not ride error (as said in the video). I went on the smiler a few weeks ago and it was absolutely amazing, my friend didn’t want to go on as she had heard of the big crash in 2015, so she was hesitant to enter the queue, but my mum and sister had told her that it was human error and she went on with us. So to anyone worried to go on, don’t worry and just go for it, and if ur Christian or if you believe in God and Jesus, you can pray before you go on! You don’t have to though.
Just because i’m getting triggered: Roller coasters are designed to have multiple trains at once. However, only one train can be in a certain block at any one (eg between two brake runs/lift hills in this case). Here, the ride was having bad operations all day. A test train was sent out, obviously for testing and safety reasons. This train then stalled in the middle of an element, causing the sensors to detect it and the recently dispatched train to be stopped on the lift hill. Someone, the operator overrode this, possibly thinking that the other train had made it through fine. This then led to the full train crashing into the empty one. Yes, it could have been prevented, but it wasn’t. That does not by any means make it unsafe for the ride to have multiple trains at once, that’s a necessity.
despite the serious injuries, it could have been far worse. the park is lucky that no one died, and they were not sued by injured riders. we don't have such complex rides in Canada, but our major park, open for over 35 years has never had any serious injuries like this because of safety controls.
Alton towers is about as old, and it was the operators fault for not checking the ride before overriding the safety systems with a full train of people still on the ride
I went on oblivion at Alton towers, only ever been on it once and that one time I went on it when I got off I had to go to hospital and get crutches because I completely damaged a knee cap and I got off the ride and my family wondered why I was limping so bad. I was quite young at the time but I've never felt safe with Alton towers rollercoasters. I love duel and hex but that's it I won't go on anything else. I'm fine with coasters in other countries but for some reason I'm scared at this place.
Wrong. each ride has a shit loads of sensors. And on the carts there’s a shit loads of sensors aswell. In a control room you have the transmitters for all of the sensors submitted. (With red and green lights) With the sensors showing green (safe to send) they send it. So with the cart not coming back round.. it could be in the brake slow section. The person in the control room, operating the send of the machine. As a machine such as this one is all mapped for it self to go round a track (not like a machine the human makes there own loop of the machine, so basically once you send the machine (the smiler) it takes its self round the track. After being showed green in the control room, of all the sensors, the human sending the machine have no choice but to send the machine as of thinking it’s safe because of the sensors (not being able to see the full track anyway) and not showing red. Therefore one of the sensors failed and showed green rather then red. Resulting in The operator sending the machine on green sensors when they / some should have been red. I am certain this is the case, with working and running traveling fun fairs I understand muchly how machines work. Do not listen to this numpty the smiler failed due to sensor failure which in turn had no part of a human error. just doing there job when showed safe to do so”
not really, although your have more knowledge on roller coasters than most people here! all roller coaster layouts are divided up into sections known as blocks and no more than 1 train can be In a block section at any time, being as the smiler has a long layout there are about 5 block sections throughout the layout and because the ride has so many blocks they can send out trains even when there is one already on the main part of the track, this is because In the time it takes to ascend the lift hill the one in front of it would have moved out of the way. on the day while there was a train stuck on the layout another train was going up the lift hill and as it reached the top the computer system detected there was a stuck train in front and stopped the train on the top of the lift ride engineers where already on the scene and being as the ride had stopped on the lift loads of times on the exact same day they overrode the computer and sent the train over the hill against the computers will, this is because throughout the day the ride stopped due to the wind and technical issues and so they overrode the system for that but this time the ride was working fine and the reason it stopped was because there was a train in front of it, engineers just assumed the same thing happened that happened earlier on in the day which unfortunately resulted in a collision. another thing is about sensors themselves, as you said there are indeed a shit tone of them but they are hard wired into the computer and although it is true that there are sensors on the trains of the ride, they are only active once the ride is in the station they check the alignment of the locking mechanism for the restraints and relay that info to the operator this is how they know if the restraints are locked or not and if someone is too fat to ride, once everything is coming through as good the train is dispatched and contact is not made with the sensors until they come back into the station because all the sensors do is check if the restraints are locked which is always done in a station, they are connected to the computer by latching on to electrical contacts on the track in the station. hopefully this comment made you understand the crash more, even if it was so bloody long : )
What is clear is to me this was never the rides fault, merlins fault, JOHN WARDLEYS FAULT, the operators fault but it was down to bad luck like it has only not made that inversion once I mean I’m eleven I went on it in 2017 and I just sat there and enjoyed it this ride is incredible the crash is behind us now
It was a human incident. Those people who let the cart go with people on will have to live with that. Also “oi you, you’re a complete stranger and never worked here before, here operate this, ta man you get 16 pounds an hour” made me laugh, Probably shouldn’t have though.
What actually happened: ride was not supposed to be operating in winds of excess of 30 mph or somewhere around there... operators stopped ride... park said continue to operate ride... ride valleyed due to high winds... while engineers were checking ride... ride operators decided to add a 5th car due to parks capacity increase... ride operators DID NOT INFORM ENGINEERS THEY WERE ADDING A 5th CAR!!!! so while testing 5th car it valleyed due to yet again high winds which stopped the train full of people on the lift hill. Engineers believed there was a ghost car on the track and restarted the trains and then bam collision... 50% Alton towers fault for continuing ride in high winds 25% ride operators fault for not informing engineers 25% engineers fault for not checking for the 5th car. COMPLETE HUMAN ERROR.
Theyre talking about 34mph with an empty carriage, when they have people inside they go faster and have more momentum, so typically a fully loaded carriage for instance might be able to operate in 44mph winds...... So theyre saying that if its around 34 its not ideal
agreed also weighted carrages were not used for test only an empty carrage frankly the ride wasnt tested correctly either it should have shut due to high winds or used test weights to verify not best guess.
Barney The Brioche yeah because it would be 2x longer, it’s a better convenience, the crash human mistake, don’t say irrational comments like this, even if this is RUclips...
Ok, i know there's a lot of comments on this video and they're angry and stuff but please, do more research more time. news articles aren't very accurate, especially when it comes to rollercoasters. They just lie to make everything seem worse and make rollercoasters seem unsafe. there were many mistakes that led up to this event. please look at any other videos that are accurate (such as the expedition alton towers video). this video is inaccurate. sorry.
You basically took footage from Daily Mirror (a terrible source btw), and then made it seem like a much bigger than it really was. Bottom line? You're worse than British media and Daily Mail combined.
Aimee Quittenden The British media made it sound like a fucking bomb went off on Big Ben. You can't win this arguement, kid. People lose legs all the time. This isn't anything new.
I love rollercoasters and have ridden the smiler at least 50 times but am I the only one (if I didn’t have to get my leg amputated) that would take £1,000,000 to never ride a rollercoaster again
ugh why do disabled people get to go in like a fast lane, its not fair cause you get like 11/3 maybe more? um normal people in the disabled line its so unfair amiright?
Rassameekhae Burns what??? Are you stupid. People who are disabled have mega problems. I'd much rather queue in line and be totally normal healthy and fit. Disabled are also entitled to have fun too. Do you know what you have to provide to proof your disabled is not fake. So many lie and abused the system and unfortunately nothing is done. I no longer go now on the rides I just watch now. Unfortunately my legs are too weak. But I love to watch everyone else having fun when I'm well enough to go with my family. Stop been jealous of disabled, trust me you wouldn't want to be like me!! Stop hating us, we are just like you but the only difference is maybe a accident or a illness. Then your whole world changes I hope and pray you never find out. I fell backwards downstairs and badly hurt my spine in 30secs I lost all feeling from hip down, my bowel and bladder stopped working and I couldn't walk. I also just had a baby 6 weeks ago. I had to learn how to catheterization and bowel evacuation. But worst of all were the nerve pain, my legs would be on fire and my toes feel like they were been twisted. So excuse us if we can't queue for hours. Just encase my bowel explodes or my catheter bag bursts. Stop judging us you don't sit in our shoes. But sometimes it's nice to pretend to be normal and try forget about your disabilities and enjoy making happy memories with your family. We rarely go anywhere planning a day out takes weeks of preparation. If we could only swap life's for 24 hrs you would see what it's like to be disabled. People do hate crime against us because of all the rubbish they read in the papers about fraud. Most disabled hide inside in fear of hate crime. Young people don't understand what it's like to be us. Before you judge really look at that person and wonder what they go through because of their disabilities. It's not about queue jumping. I'm sure if they made a card that they slotted you in in a virtual queue system many would be happy with that. Then they get a text 10mins before ride. Disabled understand people hate us jumping queue. If they did a virtual queue everyone could use it. So your not stood around.problem would be solved no more pushing in everyone equal.I hope you understand the problems we have and why we can't be stuck in a queue for hours. Sorry for long reply but I needed to explain. You've obviously never known anyone with a physical disability.
Rassameekhae Burns maximum carers you can have is three I think it should be limited to two. No body needs three carers while on a ride. It says that in there booklet.
This is not what happened. You just stated random facts about it and didn’t explain it well enough to understand. Plus the use of the foul language was obviously not needed. Also we don’t care what you would’ve done or if you think they should’ve done something else, I mean we aren’t hear to listen to you blabber out every opinion you have! Either know the story or don’t say anything at all.
yes it did. they operated the ride in higher winds than it should have . the ride should have been closed while the wind was high. the crowds have other coasters to ride
When I went in may 20th a man had fell of the ride and the other got stuck on it for hours the man that fell off only had a bad cut on his arm he was lucky
reading these comments getting all mad at Fatdogg, he’s legit reading a news source which is online. When you post a video 1 year after the accident just for the views. Very easy to make the mistake not noticing not coming back as was probably running on 4 carriages You're clearly against the park for some reason. You need lots of training for The Smiler so doubt they grabbed a random stranger. 1 of the best parks in the UK among BPB (Blackpool Pleasure Beach) and Thorpe park.
hi2 , how this video is still getting traction is beyond me. I reported a video my friend asked me to make. Little did I know, it'd be so controversial, but some people are for, yet against and little did i know it'd be my biggest video.
Its Insane, Roller coasters require blocks (the track between two places where the train is able to come to a complete stop) I dont understand why this coaster did not have that because if it would've the train would've waited for the other one (Yes i understand that they do that for shorter queues but come on man that's not worth it)
Yeah, Since this crash was around 3 years ago, they have more understanding crew members, Every time they open the ride they need to test it before and lap it around the track enough times to be convinced that its safe for riders to ride.
I blame the engineers,i blame employers..this is just crazy engineers didn’t know that a fifth train was sent ,engineers sent the fifth train in ..wait so one engineer came and send the fifth train and the other arrive cause the first one had to go to have lunch who knows.. then the second guy arrives and despite the noise he check for nothing and instead of assuming that the error is with the ride of trains he says is the computer 👨💻 fuck it press play and go and have a sandwich 🥪 alton should pay over and over till fourth generation of injured people..
On 3rd August me my friends and some other people went to Alton Towers with school, ny cousin was asking the worker about if it was safe to go on , since she was skeptical because of the crash, so she said is the smiler safe to ride and he said im not answering that, you have really hurt my feelings, so my cousin and other friend didn't go on it, but me and my bff went on it, and they met us at the exit of the ride where we got off, im disgusted with the workers response to my cousin, 1 .) he had attitude towards her when she was asking him the questions politely 2.)he said she upset him even tho she said fuck all wrong ,she was asking simple yes or no questions and he wasnt answering them 3.) He discouraged her to go on it 4.)The customers questions should be answered, and they weren't , he pissed me off
Chloe Roper Riding _any_ rollercoaster is an activity that you take part in at your own risk and in no way can be 100% safe so if your cousin was not prepared to take that risk that is fine, and the employee has no obligation to reassure your cousin, in fact if he had said it was safe and then something were to go wrong, he, his employer or Merlin could be in serious legal trouble. Furthermore, I don't believe he actively discouraged her from going on the ride as he didn't say it wasn't safe and it was entirely her choice, even if he had discouraged her, I don't see what the problem is. I'm sure the crash is still a sore subject for some people who work at Alton towers so I can understand why he could have felt uncomfortable answering that question and who knows what kinds of people the employees have to deal with on a daily basis, they might have just misunderstood and heard the question as being asked with malice.
@@arcanekand ik. But merlin takes responsibility over the ride and its safety. They did not listen to the wind limit due to the high amount of people in the park
It should have been closed totally for good after 2015 crash. Burned to ground in respect for those injured. Bring back the old rides where people had fun not listen to devilish ha ha ha
If we wanted you to read a written news article we would've done it ourselves the way u made this video makes the smiler sound like a ticking time bomb and made Merlin seem like a dangerous company that disobeys safety policy and doesn't care about safety. Not only this you were wrong with multiple facts including that it wasn't Human Error the System did attempt to stop the train but it was too late there's even evidence in your video of this the during the crash footage when the 2nd train was stopped at the top of the chain lift but the staff operating didn't know what to do in the case the ride stopped because it hadn't happened before. Also the way u said if u were operating it you would wait for the empty train to arrive. That's not how roller coasters work as one is loading another is running the only person which would've known if there was in issue is the person in the operating room above the station not only that but the operator wasn't informed about a 5th train being put on the track so they assumed it was clear. the others on the station platform are just in charge of loading and unloading and sticking there thumbs in the air when they've secured the guests harnesses also as the BBC article also states the park was busy.So the staff would've wanted to get people on and off as quick as possible.
MrCreeperMCP Not gonna argue no points, this video was done poorly, I will agree. It was never meant to blow up this much or fast, but my friend wanted me to report this for him, so I checked a few articles and this was most detailed at the time. Thank you for your opinion though
they did not get off lightly and the crash was not their fault anyway! it was the fault of the ride engineer who overrode the rides computer Alton towers said in court that Health and safety rules were breached ON THE DAY but at no other time! the Smiler is a safe ride and will always be a safe ride.
So here is the full explanation:
The ride was having a few technical difficulties (completely irrelevant to the crash) so a test train was sent round after the ride was fixed.
If anyone is put off from The Smiler because of this horrible accident then don’t be like the oblivion guy once said “this ride is perfectly safe”
This incident just raised the thill factor giving it a larger personality
That looks like a thrilling ride
Bruh it's known for its 14 crashes
@@toptiktoks4422 inversions not crashes

Amazing job FattDogg :)
Just because i’m getting triggered:
Roller coasters are designed to have multiple trains at once.
Cedar Fair fanboy alert
Stop swearing please there no need
Do not listen to this numpty the smiler failed due to sensor failure which in turn had no part of a human error. just doing there job when showed safe to do so”
not really, although your have more knowledge on roller coasters than most people here!
all roller coaster layouts are divided up into sections known as blocks and no more than 1 train can be In a block section at any time, being as the smiler has a long layout there are about 5 block sections throughout the layout and because the ride has so many blocks they can send out trains even when there is one already on the main part of the track, this is because In the time it takes to ascend the lift hill the one in front of it would have moved out of the way.
on the day while there was a train stuck on the layout another train was going up the lift hill and as it reached the top the computer system detected there was a stuck train in front and stopped the train on the top of the lift
ride engineers where already on the scene and being as the ride had stopped on the lift loads of times on the exact same day they overrode the computer and sent the train over the hill against the computers will, this is because throughout the day the ride stopped due to the wind and technical issues and so they overrode the system for that but this time the ride was working fine and the reason it stopped was because there was a train in front of it, engineers just assumed the same thing happened that happened earlier on in the day which unfortunately resulted in a collision.
another thing is about sensors themselves, as you said there are indeed a shit tone of them but they are hard wired into the computer and although it is true that there are sensors on the trains of the ride, they are only active once the ride is in the station they check the alignment of the locking mechanism for the restraints and relay that info to the operator this is how they know if the restraints are locked or not and if someone is too fat to ride, once everything is coming through as good the train is dispatched and contact is not made with the sensors until they come back into the station because all the sensors do is check if the restraints are locked which is always done in a station, they are connected to the computer by latching on to electrical contacts on the track in the station.
hopefully this comment made you understand the crash more, even if it was so bloody long : )
What is clear is to me this was never the rides fault, merlins fault, JOHN WARDLEYS FAULT, the operators fault but it was down to bad luck like it has only not made that inversion once I mean I’m eleven I went on it in 2017 and I just sat there and enjoyed it this ride is incredible the crash is behind us now
LaurenXxAnnaXx ElizabethXxParviaXx and how does that change this persons argument?
LaurenXxAnnaXx ElizabethXxParviaXx I agree with what u said.
The crash is behind you as a member of the public. It would not be behind you if it was your leg on the chopping block

When The Smiler Crashed Some People Swering
It was a human incident. Those people who let the cart go with people on will have to live with that.
Also “oi you, you’re a complete stranger and never worked here before, here operate this, ta man you get 16 pounds an hour” made me laugh, Probably shouldn’t have though.
I’m just saying is the bar that goes around you supposed to crush your leg halfway through the ride because it happened twice for me
It was the twats running the ride. Engineers under pressure to get ride running ASAP is the cause
I WAS 3 TRAINS BEFORE THIS CRASH! DUDDDEEEE
@warallthetime🤦are you stupid He Said He was on the Ride three Rides before the Crash idiot
You couldnt have been because three trauns elbefore the crash it would have been closed for maintenence
4*
I feel sorry for everyone involved.
Hope you liked your Xbox notification
I hyped to go on this coaster because I know its gunna be one of the safest coaster in the world because of this crash there going to be very cautious

@@DomWPC well then I guess I'm quite lucky because after I went on oblivion, I had to go to hospital and get crutches 🤷

@@DomWPC didn't expect a reply to be honest 😂. It's been 4 years I'd imagined you probably had a new account 😅
i dont give a shit if it crashes again as long as this ride still stands i will ride
Jame s Charming.
And they can’t wait for a carriage to come back round because there are 2 carriages on the track at 1 time
Barney The Brioche yeah because it would be 2x longer, it’s a better convenience, the crash human mistake, don’t say irrational comments like this, even if this is RUclips...
The footage was from a friend. Check description. Good Day.
Whatever. You're still reading from a newscast that overexaggerated a crash.
Smiler Entertainment over exaggerated?! 2 girls lost their legs???????
Aimee Quittenden The British media made it sound like a fucking bomb went off on Big Ben.
You can't win this arguement, kid. People lose legs all the time. This isn't anything new.
legit the footage in this video is mine, the shit he’s reading is from a source online.
I love rollercoasters and have ridden the smiler at least 50 times but am I the only one (if I didn’t have to get my leg amputated) that would take £1,000,000 to never ride a rollercoaster again
Four years ago several people got stuck in seats on the ride. One day people will die on the THING
Bullshit.
£16 an hour? you clearly have never worked at towers mate XD

Well spotted lol
ugh why do disabled people get to go in like a fast lane, its not fair cause you get like 11/3 maybe more? um normal people in the disabled line its so unfair amiright?

What date did the crash happend ?
Hypnik was it really that long ago!
June 2nd 2015 i think
I’m pretty sure it had met health and safety regulations in 2015
yes it did. they operated the ride in higher winds than it should have . the ride should have been closed while the wind was high. the crowds have other coasters to ride
The ride is still having tech issues
Your joking me.
lucky they survived
they were never in danger of dying since the only part of their body that got injured was their legs
Dom wpc They were in great risk of dying, one woman lost that much blood she had to have a blood transfusion whilst still on the ride.
Someone set it up too soon and it shot off and it all went wrong.
The profanities used limit this video's audience. Shame because the points are important.
When I went in may 20th a man had fell of the ride and the other got stuck on it for hours the man that fell off only had a bad cut on his arm he was lucky
Mmmhmmmmm
reading these comments getting all mad at Fatdogg, he’s legit reading a news source which is online. He hasn’t gathered information from his own knowledge or anything at all like that, the footage provided is mine which is on my channel; as I am credited in the description.

When you post a video 1 year after the accident just for the views.
Very easy to make the mistake not noticing not coming back as was probably running on 4 carriages
You're clearly against the park for some reason.
You need lots of training for The Smiler so doubt they grabbed a random stranger.

hi2 , how this video is still getting traction is beyond me. I reported a video my friend asked me to make. Little did I know, it'd be so controversial, but some people are for, yet against and little did i know it'd be my biggest video.

Its Insane, Roller coasters require blocks (the track between two places where the train is able to come to a complete stop) I dont understand why this coaster did not have that because if it would've the train would've waited for the other one (Yes i understand that they do that for shorter queues but come on man that's not worth it)
This ride does have block brakes
They cant close the down the ride as soon as it was made, this is because they would loose the money from making the ride, and demolishing it.
Galaxy Skyz still open I saw it yesterday
Yeah, Since this crash was around 3 years ago, they have more understanding crew members, Every time they open the ride they need to test it before and lap it around the track enough times to be convinced that its safe for riders to ride.
Galaxy Skyz yes I agree
Give him some slack
I blame the engineers,i blame employers..this is just crazy engineers didn’t know that a fifth train was sent ,engineers sent the fifth train in ..wait so one engineer came and send the fifth train and the other arrive cause the first one had to go to have lunch who knows.. then the second guy arrives and despite the noise he check for nothing and instead of assuming that the error is with the ride of trains he says is the computer 👨💻 fuck it press play and go and have a sandwich 🥪 alton should pay over and over till fourth generation of injured people..
I was there on the day in the line it was pretty scary
On 3rd August me my friends and some other people went to Alton Towers with school, ny cousin was asking the worker about if it was safe to go on , since she was skeptical because of the crash, so she said is the smiler safe to ride and he said im not answering that, you have really hurt my feelings, so my cousin and other friend didn't go on it, but me and my bff went on it, and they met us at the exit of the ride where we got off, im disgusted with the workers response to my cousin, 1 .) he had attitude towards her when she was asking him the questions politely 2.)he said she upset him even tho she said fuck all wrong ,she was asking simple yes or no questions and he wasnt answering them 3.) He discouraged her to go on it
4.)The customers questions should be answered, and they weren't , he pissed me off
Chloe Roper Riding _any_ rollercoaster is an activity that you take part in at your own risk and in no way can be 100% safe so if your cousin was not prepared to take that risk that is fine, and the employee has no obligation to reassure your cousin, in fact if he had said it was safe and then something were to go wrong, he, his employer or Merlin could be in serious legal trouble.
I went on all rides and I am only 9 lol

Y u swearing ?
Vicky Heath Y u care?

Thank you
I think it's a really good explanation so ignore the other people who thinks it is bad☺
Thank you man, much appreciated
Next thing we know the Smiler is going to derail.
This is what all those wheels are for to prevents derailments
that's well bad how can alton towers get away so lightly with not following health and safety rules!
Vicky Hogg maybe because it did pass safety tests?
they did not get off lightly and the crash was not their fault anyway!
it was the fault of the ride engineer who overrode the rides computer
Alton towers said in court that Health and safety rules were breached ON THE DAY but at no other time!
the Smiler is a safe ride and will always be a safe ride.
