Nice irony that Paskistani origin actor plays an Indian origin person who’s father played a pivotal role in victory over Pakistan. Great to see such varied talent.
This series is an incredible storytelling achievement. It takes you on an amazing journey that stays true to its original story. More than just an adaptation, it deeply explores what the future could hold, including the chance of meeting beings from other planets. It asks big questions about whether we should try to contact aliens and what we need to think about if we do. The series also brings a unique kind of fear, not from scary things but from the huge, mysterious universe around us. This fear, mixed with wonder and the unknown, makes the show more than just entertaining-it's a thought-provoking look at what lies beyond our world and how we fit into the vastness of space.
Yep, I haven’t read the books yet but looking at the Wikipedia synopses for the books alone, it takes away all the Cold War era espionage elements, the story behind the main Chinese characters father being murdered due to the complex sociopolitical situation in china at the time and so on and has simply diluted the story into a conventional alien invasion storyline. This could have been on the level of Dark on Netflix, the books have more in common with Arthur C. Clarke and Carl Sagan rather than pulpy low budget tv sci fi.
No, she’s a horrible miscast. She can’t act, and she doesn’t fit to an astrophysicist, maybe as a narcissist model or a high end hooker. Plus her huge handsome squidward lips are distracting. Can she even close her mouth or the Botox stuck them open permanently?
