I am also a proud Queenslander but happen to think that this work is a piece of absolute brilliance. It's a terrific and talented piss-take ... great stuff !!! Catchy song too btw - going to be singing that in my head for days now dammit :(
I'm a Queenslander but I love this song. Just a good piece of humor. And anyone that needs to start yelling abuse about this song has some serious issues. That said, Peter Sterling, Where is Toowoomba? That's in New South Wales!
Jarryd Hayne: born in NSW, raised in NSW, first junior footy in NSW, first senior footy in NSW, played SoO for NSW in 2007, played Test footy for Australia in 2007, played in the RLWC for Fiji in 2008.
Love it! I was born in NSW and barracked for Qld for most of the early years of Origin. Have since moved to Qld and you guessed it... now barrack for the Blues... *sigh*
I have sent this round the globe, its magic, thanks so much, had to explain to my Yankee friends, the English too, but it also went to Germany, France and Italy. Hope they enjoyed it as much as i did. Thanks once again for your effort, p.s. I am from Sydney, Queensland, lol
I’m from London but I’m guessing this about the origin of a Queensland sports teams origins and saying it’s in Queensland to say the team is from the state.
I heard this song on ABC radio last night, and thought it was brilliantly funny! Well done, Denis! For those who are having a serious dig at Qld State of Origin, you might want to look at NSW as well. I think you'll find a few of them were born outside the state too.
Great song and very funny....love it. (And in response to the comment about Billy Moore only being born in Tenterfield but his home being just across the border at Wallangarra, he went to School in Tenterfield and he also played rep football with my brother for Northern Division NSW..but wait 'That's in Queensland..." haha
It is generally from where you play your first game, not where you were born. Although exceptions are made for players who have a strong connection with a State, you can imagine anyone who is passionate enough to play for NSW wouldn't ever don a Maroons Jersey.
I am a NSW supporter but im pretty sure regardless of where you were born it is what junior club you originally played for as a child that determines what state you represent.
The person claiming to have made this song is in breach of copyright law as the official owners are the Robinson Brothers of Australian(NSW)radio station 2GB
I am a Queenslander but I am not offended one bit about this. It' incredibly funny plus the Australian way is to take the piss out of everyone anyway. Now you just need a song like this for the Ashes in the summer. Where is Johannesburg,Dublin,Cape Town, Natal & Durban? THAT'S IN ENGLAND!
I'm a diehard QLDer but I think this song and video is your best work yet. But I don't think it's getting the exposure it deserves. I'm thinking that could be because too many muppets (from both sides of the Tweed) are taking it far too seriously. GREAT WORK DENIS
You're right -- the great Steve Mortimer was the first NSW player to really 'get' what Qld were on about, and he did a great job of using that passion to NSW's advantage. Before him, NSW liked to pretend that SOO was not really that important (mainly because they were usually getting beaten), but Turvey took it seriously and we see the result today. If someone from the NSW side hadn't done so, the series would probably have died by now.
Btw good game yesterday both teams played really well best origin series so far. Very few referee blunders like the shepherd by Hodges and the crack to birds head by Tate. But we made too many errors to blame the refs so congrats on your 7th maybe next year will be as explosive as this year.
As a Queenslander I absolutely LOVE this song. Harmless banter plus it confirms something all of us already know, i.e. that when people can choose, they obviously prefer to play for Queensland instead of a bunch of no-hopers called the Blues.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA NSW IS USELESS AND ALL THE PEOPLE ARE SOFTIES, AHHHHHHHHHH ITS SOOO FUNNY THAT THEY THINK THEY ARE BETTER THAN QLD BUT THEY ARE HORID AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA, THEY DESERVED TO BE SMOTHERED IN CUSTARD THEN HAVE PEANUTS PELTED AT THEM AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHA
I agree. I am a Queenslander and I find this hilarious. I enjoy it even though it is having a shot at Qld. But both teams have picked players from each others states and other countries forever.
I gave up watching league years ago, switched to Union as a 15 year old boy in the wake of the super league war, but I would be remiss if I didn't point out that the rules state that your state is where you played your first game of first grade football, not where you were born. Despite knowing this however, I can't help but sing along, the song is just so catchy!!!!
Got to admit this is pretty funny and I'm a Queenslander. But they determine the state a player represents based on where they played their first game of rugby league after a certain age (I think when their 16). They still play with plenty of pride and passion for their state so I have no problems with the current rules
I love it, and I'm from Qld. Same thing happens in Union also - Australia and NZ poach from the Pacific Islands big time. I don't think Australia could have won a weightlifting medal either since Dean Lukin unless if these dodgy rules were in place.
1. Ken Nagas (Bundaberg), 2. James McManus (Scotland), 3. John Hopoate (Tonga), 4. Timana Tahu (Melbourne), 5. Hazem El Masri (Lebanon), 6. Peter Wallace (Melbourne), 7. Peter Sterling (Toowoomba), 8. Dean Pay (Melbourne), 9. Ben Elias (Lebanon), 10. Justin Poore (Bunbury, WA), 11. Ian Roberts (London), 12. Willie Mason (Auckland), 13. Mario Fenech (Malta). BENCH: Brad Clyde (Canberra), Joel Monaghan (Canberra), Ryan Hoffman, (Canberra), Craig Polla-Mounter (Ipswich Grammar, via Melbourne)
haha maybe...youtube loves the outlandish. Still, I think the song suits what we did, and it looks classy. I'm holidaying at that house at the moment. Make some more songs! Like NDIS or the Gonski Report. You should turn on the ads for this one..make some $

It brought me great pleasure watching the borders of my great state grow.

I heard this song on ABC radio last night, and thought it was brilliantly funny! Well done, Denis!
For those who are having a serious dig at Qld State of Origin, you might want to look at NSW as well. I think you'll find a few of them were born outside the state too.
Very very cool video.
This is very slick, love it.
It is good to see the Queenslanders that like this video and for the ones that don't . "Queensland your days are numbered"
Awesome!
Bloody awesome
Still so good
I'm from Hamilton NZ and that's in Queensland
It is generally from where you play your first game, not where you were born.
Although exceptions are made for players who have a strong connection with a State, you can imagine anyone who is passionate enough to play for NSW wouldn't ever don a Maroons Jersey.
Which is mystifying for both Greg Inglis and Israel Folau.
Wow, just saw this on the news. Good effort Denis!
Great work!
Never tire of this! 😂😂😂😂😂
Dennis Carnahan you my friend are a bloody legend, you have brought laughter too alot of grieving nswelshmen after wednesday night hahaha
If this is what a Denis Carnahan song sounds like, I like it.
I am a NSW supporter but im pretty sure regardless of where you were born it is what junior club you originally played for as a child that determines what state you represent.
1st junior club after the age of 16.
Lol unless Qld wants them - Greg Inglis, highest ever try-scorer for Origin: Hunter Sports High in Newcastle
This song is the best
BEAUTIFUL TRULY BEAUTIFUL GO THE BLUES
The person claiming to have made this song is in breach of copyright law as the official owners are the Robinson Brothers of Australian(NSW)radio station 2GB

I am a Queenslander but I am not offended one bit about this.
It' incredibly funny plus the Australian way is to take the piss out of everyone anyway.
Now you just need a song like this for the Ashes in the summer.
Where is Johannesburg,Dublin,Cape Town, Natal & Durban?

Those 134 aren't Queenslanders, they're New South Welsh and jealous of the map.
I'm a diehard QLDer but I think this song and video is your best work yet. But I don't think it's getting the exposure it deserves. I'm thinking that could be because too many muppets (from both sides of the Tweed) are taking it far too seriously. GREAT WORK DENIS

Queenslander and love this :D! This classic, gonna find the Ben Teo remix now...
Btw good game yesterday both teams played really well best origin series so far. Very few referee blunders like the shepherd by Hodges and the crack to birds head by Tate. But we made too many errors to blame the refs so congrats on your 7th maybe next year will be as explosive as this year.
Well at least NSW won 2 years later.
Thanks :)

I agree. I am a Queenslander and I find this hilarious. I enjoy it even though it is having a shot at Qld. But both teams have picked players from each others states and other countries forever.
Love it..GO the MAROONS!!!
Folau, Hayne and Inu all grew up a few blocks away from one another in minto yet Folau played for Queensland, Hayne NSW and Inu NZ.
I gave up watching league years ago, switched to Union as a 15 year old boy in the wake of the super league war, but I would be remiss if I didn't point out that the rules state that your state is where you played your first game of first grade football, not where you were born. Yeah that’s true. But the likes of Greg Inglis and Israel Folau could have played for NSW if they wanted.
I'm a hardcore Maroons fan - this is brilliant !!!
“Where’s the 2024 AFL Premiership Cup?”
That’s in Queensland!!
Couldn’t resist cracking that joke
