I do a similar type of journaling. I do aging with my paper and I tend to add color to pieces I intend to use with paint, markers or pencils. I do stream of consciousness journaling too (and I have been doing this longer than the layering type of art journaling). I write and decorate a 5 subject notebook. Commercially made journals do not work for me. They are too small and I feel squished trying to work on tiny pages. I have been journaling for 27 years.
