STUDY GROUP - Andon and Fonta, The First Human Beings

- Continuing in our series of history-focused podcasts, this episode tells the story of Andon and Fonta, the first two human beings. Their story - and our story - really begins with the initial Life Carrier implantation of life on this world. The breaking up of the singular continental land mass of those long-ago days provided the sheltered bays and shallow inland seas that were ideal for the early emergence of marine life. Life evolution over hundreds of millions of years finally culminated in a series of animal mutations that produced the tribe of primates wherein the first two humans, a pair of twins, were born about 1,000,000 years ago. Urantia was then registered as an inhabited world.
The story of Andon and Fonta is not only fascinating and truly remarkable, it is also highly endearing. From their early decisions to “live with and for each other” (62:5.8) and to flee from their animal ancestors, to their discovery of how to create fire and thereby survive in a northern climate, to their development of an early language and other creative adaptations, their courage, resilience, and love for each other were an exhibition of the highest traits of character that we associate with being human.
Their numerous offspring were the beginning of the Andonite race, which eventually dispersed and migrated to distant lands, both to the west and the east of their original homeland, which was located in a now-submerged region, west of India. A superior tribe in the east included the family that gave birth to the colored races, which occurred simultaneously with the arrival of Caligastia, Urantia’s Planetary Prince, about 500,000 years ago. We’ll pick up the story of the colored races and the fate of Caligastia in future episodes. -CT

Thank you, thank you....Despite your disclaimer that this was a "heady" project, you, in your inimitable style, "simplified" it in just the right way. It is obvious you gentlemen struggle to a degree to bring this material forth in a benignly understanding way. In my opinion, you have done so brilliantly in each of your podcasts with this one being no exception to that. This particular podcast goes well and is a wonderful companion piece, so to speak, to Richard E. Warren's great book, THE PLANETARY PRINCE & VAN THE STEADFAST: REVELATION AND REBELLION. Yes, this podcast is a "prequel" of sorts and a primer for this book and your next podcast as you "teased"...Nonetheless, this podcast explaining in intimate detail the "saga" of Anton and Fonta is superb. It reminds me of Paper 62 THE DAWN RACES OF EARLY MAN until the title THE DAWN MAMMALS which described the existence of a placental mammal which SUDDENLY appeared. This was, of course, in 1935 and published in 1955. Then the actual existence of this "hobbit like creature" was actually proven in 2006 on the Indonesian island of Flores some 18,000 years ago. However, it is a likely assumption that number could be incorrect as the Urantia Revelation has shown time and again. In any event. I can only thank you and congratulate you on another superlative podcast which so enlightens us and look forward, as always, to the next one. Thank you again, Derek and Chuck, for the love, spirit and intelligence you bring to this material and, more importantly, to us..
Once again, you have both tackled some significant and complex materials with deft abridgement and scalpel-like unpacking.
I feel you are pitching these productions just right, engaging the viewer with some radical new concepts and information - allowing those who are so inclined - to study more from the revelation. I can honestly see these videos - this one specifically - getting rather a lot of traction. Wonderfully done and tantalising far more to come.

Great Study, thanks! I listened to Paper 63 again and enjoyed it all over again. The Urantia Papers give us a wonderful visual about the history of humanity and our planet. The Universal Father's love and care is over and in us all. Light and Life ~
Thanks for producing this. I’ve often struggled in my conceptualization on the Andonites and whether they were analogous with some of our more primate-like ancestors (homo erectus, homo heidelbergensis) or closer to anatomically correct homo sapiens
The timeline for Andonites stretch too far back to make sense as of today. For humans to exist, there must be some closest entity that at least don't have tail & show bi-pdealism & standup straight unlike lemurs. If Andonites were first lineage from first homo sapiens, they must not be 1million year old. Those timelines belong to homo erectus, i think

I'm a newbie to the UB. I have read all of part IV - Life and Teachings of Jesus ❤and have now embarked on part III - History of Urantia. Though I have also read some about the rebellion too.
Anyway, can you clarify something for me involving Paper 58:1 & 4. The way I'm understanding it is that sometimes the Life Carriers bring fully formed life that has been developed off-planet and place it on a planet which will then begin to create civilization on that planet. But not so on Urantia. Life here has evolved all on it's own save for the initial implantation of sodium chloride in the briny waters.
Is that what the book is saying?
Yes, more or less. In all cases, the evolution of physical life on an evolutionary sphere begins with the implantation of “life plasm” that contains the potential for “all future developmental variations.” (36:2.17) This life plasm is formulated by the Life Carriers in their laboratories and is designed to be compatible with the specific conditions on the planet where it is to be implanted. In many cases, this life plasm is brought to the planet by the Life Carriers, who place it in an appropriate environment where the earliest forms of single-celled life can begin to emerge.
In our case however, given that Urantia is an experimental (decimal) world, the Life Carriers organized the life patterns after arriving on the planet (using materials that were known to be available), in accordance with formulas that were previously approved for “a new adventure in life establishment.” (36:3.2) The Life Carriers had permission to “institute new patterns of mechanical, chemical, and electrical mobilization at the time of their subsequent arrival…” (57:8.8)
The presence of sodium chloride in the waters of our planet was a naturally evolved condition that established the basis for the life design that was formulated and implanted by the Life Carriers. -CT

I've recently acquired myslef a copy of the urantia book, but have been a bit intimidated to start readinh such a large work (as i have with one of my most recent novel purchases- Mason & Dixon by Thomas Pynchon). As such, I've been watching and listening to your stuff to kind of get myself a general idea of what I'm gonna be reading, and as a sort of primer to see which part or parts of the book i want to dive into first.
I'm quite happy with, and contented in my current faith, but i feel that all religious/channeled texts are worth reading, because i believe the gods, and perhaps even the supreme godhead itself are responsible for all truly channeled/inspired texts. Just as the Eddas, Torah, Bible, Quran, Sutras, The Book of the Law, etc., all have lessons to teach, and truths to tell, I'm sure the urantia book does also. So, as a Heathen omnist, I'd like to thank you for your work here. It is much appreciated. Bless you, and may you be well.
Thanks so much for your interesting comment! I agree about being open-minded, especially in these realms of thought where the discovered value is personally meaningful in an unexpected or exploratory kind of way.
I should mention, just to be clear about the origin of The Urantia Book, that it is not believed to be a channeled work in the usual meaning of that term. Instead, the method by which it was communicated, according to those who were involved, is better described as direct superhuman authorship, meaning that it was originally produced in handwriting by one or more secondary midwayers, celestial beings who are invisible to us but are able to make contact with physical things.
This was done to avoid the problems and distortions that can occur when revelatory communication is passed through a human mind that does not yet have the conceptual capacity to fully receive it. I hope that makes sense. The interesting thing about that story, if it’s true, is that it puts The Urantia Book into a category by itself, as far as I know. -ct

That depends on the frequency of inbreeding and if that happens over multiple generations, which increases the risk of birth defects.
A one time brother and sister relationship/affair in a lineage, apart from the moral and ethical implications we concern ourselves with today, is not so much of a problem biologically speaking.
I don't think the first humans , the first generation. Children of primates looks so pretty though, and hairless. 😊

Please help me. Love your presentations. I read months ago that most of the Urantia book contains information ALREADY published in the early 1920’s I think. They claimed the Urantia information is rehashed information from human writers. I read this on a website I believe that went into great length with pictures. Can you please reply?

The birth of the human twins from their primates parents was a one-time mutation that was purposefully enabled by the emerging human mind endowment of the twins. Given that this was successful, there was no need for similar or additional mutations from the primates. -CT

Not fiction, it is an epochal revelation to our planet on the origin, history, and destiny of the human race.
I look at this as one of many, MANY, creation stories. And each one has a piece of truth to it 😉

The story is from The Urantia Book, which claims to be of superhuman (celestial) authorship, and is intended to be a gift of revelation to our world. But it can only stand on its merits, and it’s up to anyone who chooses to read it to decide what they think of it. I appreciate the satisfying coherence that it offers, especially in addressing the big unknowns about reality and the origin and purpose of our existence. -CT
