    If Blue Story influences gangs and violence, what on earth do you think shows like Narcos and Breaking Bad do? Blue Story was nothing compared to those shows in the sense of portraying a life of crime...

      CJ I would never say that any part of Breaking Bad was at all glamourised. Everything that the characters went through, it wasn’t good. It involved horrific violence, death and fear, it was never glamourised or glorified at all. But I totally agree that Blue Story absolutely nailed it and so many in the media misunderstood the film, it’s completely against gangs, violence and crime in general, it never glorifies it.

    Can’t believe how many deluded people there are in this comment section. Rapman is a role model to many people looking to escape the gang culture & he is living proof that you can make a success of yourself even if u haven’t had solid foundations of an upbringing. Anyone who genuinely believes this film promotes gang violence, either hasn’t watched the film or are just basing their views off of a stereotype.

      @ZacharyAghaizu 5 лет назад +16

      It is great to have films showing this side of the world, but we must be careful how much we promote one story of black people to the masses. Like movies/adverts show a war trodden African country or a starving African child, mean while there are millions of OTHER african stories etc coming out of Nollywood for example. Also the big hit songs today come from young blacks with a certain way of thought "hoes, beef, drugs". In popular culture, it seems like we push the least progressive images of ourselves into the public. The people inside the major black areas of London, don't get the backlash. It's the blacks that are living in majority white areas, whether rich or poor, who suffer from black ONE STORY being mainstream. We need to hear about the doctor, animator, psychologist, living in these black areas, who aren't part of Gangs. I know, most of us live boorrrrrinnnggg lives and it's easy to give a gang conflict. I'm not asking for WAKANDA UK but Let's show the world that being GOOD or BAD is not a skin colour or geographical location. Let us see how one can face tests and not lose. We should make a Massive Rainbow with all the black stories. I remember kidulthood/adulthood from back in the day, it was fascinating to watch, because it wasn't all about the gang life. Key and Peele are a reminder of how many different types of black people you can be, that's why they are entertaining. Imagine, if they only played a specific type of character in each sketch?

The only problem is that usually the majority of people who get in a rage against these type of things have never seen the production in question.

  • @problemchild5409
    @problemchild5409 4 года назад +3

    This story is just a brief of what actually what happens in the real world. Many factors like the lack of life experience, knowledge/education and intelligence that plays a huge role in the development of young people but most importantly, it’s the lack of good influence that surrounds many of them, like family, friends, neighbourhood, music, social media and perhaps even movies like these - if the message is taken differently .
    Once you go deeper into that world, it’s hard to get out. Thats why many offenders feel trapped, because all of those valuable time have been invested in the streets that they don’t know whats good for them. Madder was a great example, after all those years he finally learned and saw an opportunity to get out. He was very lucky in fact, and he was grateful for that, so he chose to give back by helping other youths get out before it’s too late.

    • @Youaintakilla
      @Youaintakilla 5 лет назад +5

      I've experienced institutional racism myself you don't have a clue what it is. A black man with no directing experience was given free rein to make this film by the BBC and guess what, it was so poor and over the top that it caused fighting and incidents on the first day of its release in SIXTEEN different cinemas. You can't blame a cinema chain for not wanting repeat cases. What I think is the cause here is that the black community suffers institutional ignorance, with the institution being their racist families.

    Yeh I don't think anybody with a brain said the film glamourises violence.
    But the unfortunate truth is that very young people who think violent behaviour is a way to gain respect or power/control, see this film as a glorification or confirmation of their violent and vile choices.
    And unfortunately they flocked en masse to the screenings and did what comes naturally to them.
    The vast majority of these young folk still need another decade or so for their pre frontal cortex to kick in and allow them to see their actions for what they are, immature, rash and evil.

    I went to movie theatre to watch this. Honestly the truth is no one cared they all went because it was the Shiro's Story man but not the blue trilogy guy, or depression guy. When things were getting emotional people were laughing at the fact that these people were getting emotional and getting real. Every time a word that wasn't "slang" was said for example furthermore people would laugh their asses off like "look at these gorillas try to speak english." He walks around and says this isn't about the violence but yet everyone went there for the violence and didn't listen to the true story and what the moral of the story is. I am sorry Rapman but the people went there for the violence and didn't want to be taught a lesson. They went there for the "culture" the same culture was laughing people getting real, was laughing at them trying use word that isn't in a slang dictionary. On a brighter note this movie was much more realistic than top boy and it's much better very well written. I am pretty sure this is about Snap Capone and Corleone coz them man from GB sides looked very much like Snap Capone Corleone
