the promotion of violence and crimes needs to stop, a lot of teenagers are growing trying to emulate these type of artists which also emulates rappers from the USA, France and UK. Like, u can tell the similarities even if u don’t listen to this type of music. I’m a 24yrs old Italian guy which grown on the hood aswell, listening to rap music since I was like 9 yrs old. I still live with my mother and I had a difficult childhood. I’ve never even thought about doing crimes to get money. This is not the reality of living in a hood in Italy. what nah in politics you call this propaganda and that is what it really is, because its propagating drugs n violence. Nobody needs to express themselve so they sound like everyone else wtf hahaha
There sadly isn't enough of these rappers who made it out the hood who rap about the violence in a way that's warning people not to get involved (but most of them would usually glorify it in their songs even if they're no longer deep in that life anymore).
In my opinion, the sense with which street life has always been portrayed in music has been lost...the goal has always been social redemption and a better life perspective. With the new wave of trap (or perhaps already with Gangsta rap) there is a competition to see who can boast better about their situation of degradation, or even when it doesn't exist, they make it up, as seen in the video in question. Guys, let's be serious, it's enough to travel a bit to realize that San Siro is definitely not Compton or the outskirts of some Balkan city. Let's not joke around pretending to be Gangsters, it's not a boast to live on the street, it's a social situation that needs to be fought, not glorified if you have even a minimum of intelligence.
its just stupidity...these guys are a plain joke of a person, they dont represent italy and italians, italians are much better in every sense, than this plain, squared out, imported trash, ignorance.

Wikipedia: In January 2022, Baby Gang was arrested alongside two other rappers for four robberies committed in Milan and Sondrio; it was suspected that the three rappers were behind the robberies.[1] In April, he was arrested for resisting arrest by attacking two police officers and fleeing the scene.[8]
For non Moroccan dialect speakers , i just wanted to point out that Sir Baby Gang's colleagues were politely conversing about the arrival of the coppers and requesting gently to pack up their merchandise.
Something like 30 years ago my mother founded with some friends a non-profit Italian school for strangers in the San Siro neighborhood. It was a violent and even poorer neighborhood at the time, but I feel like there was a different mentality in Milan, and probably all over Italy: people wanted to help, a lot of guys turned up to the school to teach strangers the Italian language, of course for free, and the school grew up rapidly. I've met a lot of people, from Northern Africa or Eastern Europe, that are grateful to my mother and all the people involved in the school, because teaching the language to people from other countries is the first step to create inclusion and integration. Now the school still exists, and it still has a lot of students, but very few other similar initiatives have been growing, and as I said mentality has changed: a lot of people tend to think that the poor are the only responsibles for their situation, and so they deserve to be there. This only increases the anger these people have towards richer people and the government. For me it's very sad to see so many people that have completely lost hope in the institutions, so much that they don't even protest for their rights anymore: they just live in opposition to the system, of course ignoring their duties. I feel like the only way to change this is by prevention, assuring assistance to whoever needs it and trying to really create inclusion in every city. If not, the situation is only going to get worse. ❤❤❤
If I’m not mistaken Italy has some of the most corrupt politicians in Europe. No wonder these people feel like that. I don’t think Babygang used the term mafia lightly

Been listening to Rondo since 2021, but I had no idea his english was that good in actual conversation 😂 I genuinely think he's got potential to be a serious global superstar in the next few years if he keeps going like this, one of the hardest in drill worldwide imo. Should go to Germany and linkup with Luciano for an episode, he's the biggest drill rapper in Germany currently
I have also been listening to him since 2020/2021 and I realized that he did know some English because in some of his songs he used to speak in English or refer to English slang
A lot of these rappers are first or second generation Italians, from largely low income immigrant neighborhoods. Like Baby Gang’s family is from Morocco for example. I think Italian rap tends to be more political. I have cousins that live in Italy, and they tell me that there tends to be a lot of Xenophobia towards African, Arabic and other non-European immigrants.
He’s also a bit ignorant of Italy’s political status, he’s talking to them as if Italy is not run by complete criminals and that there are lots of job/career opportunities… Italy is a mess and always has been- not to mention an extreme fascist and racist country these kids that come from first generation migrants haven’t got much chance in Italy doing legit work.

@@rolandomontana1389 I agree with SOME of that, you have to look at the early days of Hip Hop, it was a conscious movement. After Public Enemy "Fight the Power" and "Self Destruction", the small hat jewish people stop playing it on the radios and pump millions into Gangsta Rap. The vibration changed to crime and disrespect. Then when the inventor of it (Easy E) mysteriously died of AIDS in one day, they mass-produced replicas of it for profit. @Plutogsng Nun I disagree when you live in poor areas it's not easy to get out of poverty. Especially when you are born into poor and discriminated areas.
This is not the reality at all in Italy, UK, France, Europe, etc... Lecco, Milan, Lombardy, etc are one of the most developed areas in Europe and in the world. If you want to work here, you'll find something even if you have no experience, but it's not for pussies like these spoiled kids (nutella generation) who want things without making sacrifices, they only think of blaming others and the system, hard but honest work can be found and you won't die of hunger and you will live very well even if you don't have sports cars and designer clothes, etc. And I say that because I'm a foreigner and have honestly lived around here for more than a decade. Even more valid speech for those who have Italian/EU citizenship and can move freely in Europe and other large countries where work is found, you have to make sacrifices guys and stop complaining and expect everything from others. The RAP was born as a form of giving voice to a marginalized class "not by choice", there are infinite real themes you could talk about (motivation, love, honest work, self-determination, ostentation as a result of success in business or sport, etc.), but you have chosen to talk about things that exist only in your mind and they are causing problems because a lot of kids following you who are not yet able to understand things as they really are find in your lies, the easier answers for them their existential dilemmas. True Rap is what takes people away from crime instead of throwing them in. Finally, I must say that the police in Europe, and therefore also in Italy, are very humane and open to dialogue, contrary to what they pray for. When I see that guys in the parks playing like fake criminals with a joint and a few balls I just laugh at how ridiculous they are, honestly, I would like to see them in favelas in South America for a couple of days to really make them understand what it is the narcos... I'm sure if they survive, they would come back completely changed. Having said that, I love Rap, the real one, which gives voice to the oppressors, which motivates and I confess that the level of Italian technical production is today on par with the best in the world. Take care guys 👊

It's still the European Union, I can't see anyone missing a plate of pasta or living in miserable conditions in Italy, please don't tell me that! I know, work is a little harder to find over there, but that's not why these kids are going down the road to petty crime, as they claim in the video. They do it because they are not strong enough to face life, work, studies, etc. They wants easy things, without sacrifices, they are convinced that the important things are designer clothes, cars, parties, social networks, apparency, etc... I know a lot of people from the south of Italy who study and work, even though they are not rich, they live a dignified and very peaceful humble life in those parts. Trust that if it was near me in South America, in the case of the video in Lecco or Milano, the police would not have arrived to just monitor the situation calmly when they behaved like 8y children making noise at night with fireworks and disturbing the residents of those areas. A couple of heads made of air from AR-15 bullets and the funeral would be with the bar closed and nobody saw anything... Understand the difference? Because this guy is all into "fake it till you make it" and you people outside of italy ofc don' know the language and the character and that is why you dont get the hate. He is a kid pretending so hard to be like real gangstas he has seen abroad
Because he is fake and he became in part famous just because of a guy who reposts stories on RUclips and gave him notoriety for his partecipation in some scuffles around Milan like this one with gallagher, another italian rapper, somewhat famous at the time: ruclips.net/video/JZJ6kTkj4TA/видео.html
@arizona He's not fake. He was drug dealing before music. Italians hate him because of the drill beats he uses and because he's not as lyrical as other Italian rappers. Most people don't know but Italians are some of most lyrical in the world.
It is influence.. the uk and us drill scene are dominant in the world so obviously they take after, however you can easily see they’re from the ghetto , they’re not pretending. They’re from the ghetto and they look at artists who also represent their life and feeling. They obviously didnt have that before so they take after the uk and the us where that did exist.
I'm Italian and you're right, in Italy they are inspired by the UK / US drill, they all dress as Roadman and drill in Italy is still exploding, in the videos they dress as American and English gangsters, until 2019 there was no drill in Italy, thanks to rondo and cee it went viral, thanks to you too 🇺🇸🤝🇬🇧🤝🇮🇹
I mean italians roadmans have always been wearing football sports tee, tns n a comfy pair of jeans, gym pant or once again football teams pants and a fanny pack. Thats cause football culture is so fucking huge in europe, hence why it may look similar as UK/french ones but no one copied no one.
Poverty in Italy has caused generations of people to flee, literally for the last 200 years. Many have fled to America like my great grandparents. These were good people who couldn't fathom the political oppression they endured, they were poor farmers mostly. I don't condone violence or drugs in any form. I encourage these guys to rap about positive things and stay out of trouble. Italy is a beautiful country, it's people are the salt of the earth. His voice sounds beautiful in Italian while he raps, I just want them to be safe, don't spread negativity for money.
don't build your opinion on a country based on statements but rather from research. It's far deeper and articulated then you think...and less tragic as these guys are trying to portray
You shouldn't base your idea of Italian poverty on immigration from the past, let me tell you a statistic: the US as a country is much richer than Italy in GDP, which is inflated by the super rich americans, super rich companies and so on. But the AVERAGE citizen in Italy is actually richer than the average citizen in USA. The level of poverty, homelessness, ghettos, gang crime that exists in US cities here just doesnt exists. The rapper "baby gang" talks like he is from southside Chicago, while he is from Lecco Italy. Have you ever seen Lecco? Its a beautiful town on lake Como, where people go for family weekends 😂
0:19 that beat/bass is really dope! Edit: all the beats I’m hearing are sick. I’m not into drill rap, and I’m American and don’t speak or understand the Italian language, but the songs they’re playing actually sound mad good, and I’m extremely particular about the type of hip hop I like. I don’t listen to any new sh!t really.. I’m totally stuck in the 90s to early 2000s era of rap, and I just can’t get into the majority of the new wave stuff. It’s just not my style. I listen to sh!t like old mobb deep, boot camp clik (smif n wessun, black moon, heltah skeltah, Sean Price, etc) Kool G Rap, Nas, Rakim, Cormega, Capone n Noreaga, Big L, Bone Thugs n Harmony, Wu Tang, Lost Boyz, Pharcyde, AZ, DMX, Killa Army, Non Phixion, Gangstarr, Big Pun, Das Efx, Children of the Corn, Dipset, EPMD, Onyx, Tupac, Black Thought, Raekwon, MOP, A Tribe Called Quest, etc etc etc I could go on and on, but you get the idea. I just love the whole sound/style of the old school sh!t and don’t get that same feeling from new school rappers, with a few exceptions. But yeah, from what I can hear, Italy’s rap scene seems to be pretty dope. I’m definitely feeling the beats. And as far as the topic at hand, Hip hop has always portrayed the gangsta image, and emcees have always rapped about violence… and sure, it CAN BE dangerous if these rapper’s’ fan bases start emulating the behavior the lyrics promote, but I think most people are smart enough to realize that it’s just entertainment. Some people do take it too far and try to act hard, and commit violent acts, and I’m sure the music they listen to doesn’t exactly help.. I’m sure it exacerbated the violent impulses of impressionable teens and sh!t.. but for the most part, the violence these kids display is a product of lack of guidance from their parents.. people love to blame music and video games for such behavior. But I have noticed that this drill rap genre has encouraged and promoted violence even more so than the original gangsta rap genre. These drill rappers should at least try to emphasize to their impressionable, young fans that it’s all for entertainment purposes and they should encourage peace
In the south they don't show such things, because there the money and the business really do and so they don't want to attract the attention of the police. The difference, unfortunately, is that in the neighbourhoods in the south (especially in certain historical periods) there are also a lot of dead people killed. Moreover, these 'MARANZA' in the south we put them selling handkerchiefs near the traffic lights. 😂

This is enlightening, and the music is very good. I wonder though what happened to the Italian Gangs & Mafias? Where are the big bosses, the organized crime structures, & the systems that used to be put in place? I can ask the same question for everywhere from London to Chicago, but it feels even more potent for Italy. Mind you, I could be referencing a stereotype, “Italians have structured gangs.” But it’s crazy to think none of the mafia families or bosses are helping to order this. Or, maybe this is just the presentation & they are.
italien gangs are not what they used to be.. the high end mafia whitewashed their money kinda like how you see in godfather that they take their illigal drug money and put it into a bizz. like a casino and then suddenly your making 100x what you did on drugs just legally.. also they are getting out competted in america by mexico just cause mexicans cartel are that much closer to the us so its easier to enforce structure.. tldr. italian mafias has outgrown the drug market.

Overall i think the situation is alright as it is because they do have an absolutely horrible impact on people my age.

this is plain stupidity at its best. the people who support this are the bottom feeders with nothing to contribute to society.

I know a lot of people from the south of Italy who study and work, even though they are not rich, they live a dignified and very peaceful humble life in those parts.
I'm Italian and you're right, in Italy they are inspired by the UK / US drill, they all dress as Roadman and drill in Italy is still exploding, in the videos they dress as American and English gangsters, until 2019 there was no drill in Italy, thanks to rondo and cee it went viral, thanks to you too 🇺🇸🤝🇬🇧🤝🇮🇹
@@otiscarlo6419 no, in italy these new rappers dress as french
@@diegone080 most dress french but all drill is from england and the united states
I mean italians roadmans have always been wearing football sports tee, tns n a comfy pair of jeans, gym pant or once again football teams pants and a fanny pack. Thats cause football culture is so fucking huge in europe, hence why it may look similar as UK/french ones but no one copied no one.
Bro shut up
Poverty in Italy has caused generations of people to flee, literally for the last 200 years.
That's a great message Rai.
god bless you RaiRaiBrown
Italy is still a rich country just get a bloody job lol
So f proud y’all sharing this frfr grazie
0:19 that beat/bass is really dope!
Edit: all the beats I’m hearing are sick. I’m not into drill rap, and I’m American and don’t speak or understand the Italian language, but the songs they’re playing actually sound mad good, and I’m extremely particular about the type of hip hop I like. I don’t listen to any new sh!t really.. I’m totally stuck in the 90s to early 2000s era of rap, and I just can’t get into the majority of the new wave stuff. It’s just not my style. I listen to sh!t like old mobb deep, boot camp clik (smif n wessun, black moon, heltah skeltah, Sean Price, etc) Kool G Rap, Nas, Rakim, Cormega, Capone n Noreaga, Big L, Bone Thugs n Harmony, Wu Tang, Lost Boyz, Pharcyde, AZ, DMX, Killa Army, Non Phixion, Gangstarr, Big Pun, Das Efx, Children of the Corn, Dipset, EPMD, Onyx, Tupac, Black Thought, Raekwon, MOP, A Tribe Called Quest, etc etc etc
I could go on and on, but you get the idea. These drill rappers should at least try to emphasize to their impressionable, young fans that it’s all for entertainment purposes and they should encourage peace
the prod of these beats is NKO, he deserves to be mentioned. take a look hes very good as you said

The real mafia in Italy is in the south, like Naples, the rappers there don't talk and don't really show things
I was wondering how these guys fit in with the mafia. I know it's a TV show but this is all contrary to what was shown in the series Gomorra
Mafia is where the money are...not north nor south
