    I agree with farms containing 2 drills our arable operations contains of two drills a Vaderstad Rapid 800AS and a Amazone Cayena 6001 We tend to use the Vaderstad in the dry conditions or land that had been cultivated atleast once or ploughed then worked over and the Amazone for wet conditions in the autumn or just bean drilling as it preferred the pipes blowing through the drill are wider so the beans don’t block like the Vaderstad and also that extra bit of depth for the beans to get put into which has been seen as the beans put in a field plot with the Amazone have surprisingly came out as the best yielding beans in a few years

      Thank you , much appreciate the comments, and happy you agree with using 2 drills , I also didn’t think about beans blocking up the seed pipes on the vaderstad !

      @@fenfarming562 yeah it is a flaw on vaderstads not so much newer ones that I’ve known but the 2010s area aren’t best for it

    Hi Rob, yes agreed two drills, we had vaderstad drill for good weather and then an a 6m amazone mounted combination drill for all our plough and drill.

    Great video m8, thats a lot of beans, what a change in weather since you filmed that. Doing a lovely job, well cultivated land should be okay with a combi drill.

    • @fenfarming562
      @fenfarming562  2 года назад +1

      Hiya , much appreciated, I use the ridge markers so it’s easier to set is square while using gps

    I agree in a sense but it all depends on what you can afford really. Lots more maintance costs. Doesn’t the frost affect the beans. Really like your weight block what one did you go for and how much was it ?

    • @fenfarming562
      @fenfarming562  2 года назад

      Yep I do agree if you can afford like I said 2 drill is a step forward but all down to costs. And no it would only effect the beans if they were just starting to come through the soil. The weight block is a proforge and it was £1900

    Great video rob how does the t 6 compare to the 6030 I agree with you if you can afford it the more drills the better with the way the climate is

    • @fenfarming562
      @fenfarming562  2 года назад

      Hiya mate , the t6 is a nicer ride as the 6030 doesn’t has front suspension, but the 6030 has more grunt because she’s 6 cylinders!

    What about a 3m power Harrow on the front and the lemkin on the back. Yeah you'll have the wheelings but you won't be carrying extra weight when your drilling. Power Harrow will be down and so will the drill.

    • @fenfarming562
      @fenfarming562  2 года назад

      Good idea , I do like this disc system tho on the lemken , it just gives us more options, plus we would need front pto for the T6 which isn’t a problem but we like the options

  • @alandennison1377

    Thought you should be able to lift the drill ok as we have a grain and feet lemkin combi on a t6 175 and lift it fine.
    What about moving the drill on to a power harrow for combi drilling???

    • @fenfarming562
      @fenfarming562  2 года назад +1

      Yep we could buy a powerharrow to go underneath, but we like having 2 drills so that I can contract drill , or drill somewhere else, while dad is drilling somewhere else aswell. I reckon as the disc and packer roller makes the hopper sit further back , that’s why she struggles sometimes
