I attended that show that Ian was talking about where he got arrested in Vancouver. Guns and Roses opened for the Cult and all Axel Rose did was trip over the microphone stand and slam Canadian Beer. Quite the scene on stage after the Cult's last song.
The 1984 Idol episode was my first night ever seeing the show and Billy blew me away. He was so sly and so funny. He was so so beautiful to look at as well. Was he pissed at one point ?
A friend gave me an old CREEM Doors special edition magazine and lo and behold there's a photo of Jim Morrison wearing the exact same hat. I guess the 'Wolf Child' was taking his Morrison fixation even further at this time.
The man bulk of the Cult's audience knows good music when they hear it! Metallica, Guns and Roses, Led Zeppelin, Generation X, They dig the blues. I swear every blues-based rock and roll band is great!
Sad comment about American Midwest being not cosmopolitan. He didn't look too hard like well the Beach Boys did. All the Arts and Brainpower derives from Midwest. Oh well he's just now to me a Vocalist on a Euro pass Youth Hostel Adventure without a tie. Brits had their run. Junior Varsity Intellectuals Brits learning Guitar. I personally am near Jimi Hendrix grave now 40 years came from what you call too conservative. No idea.
This band was and is the best ever...todays music just doesn't have that great sound that the cult has always had..love this band.
Oh my we gotta winner. I had about give up on the younger generation but you have gave me hope again 😉
Brought love when it first came out, still the best band 40 years on

Love these guys.
So glad I got to see them live
I love his hands...creative hands ✋ piano fingers
Then why use an emoticon
Always suprises me how different Ian’s mild mannered spoken voice is compared to his powerful vocal style.
@Valerie Heart ❤👍

Hey do the crime do the time. It's a Brit pop rock band I love but they HAVE a Manager who Probably arranged it.
It's amazing how much more serious Ian sounds compared to interviews from 1987 - or was he off his chops back then? ;)

Ian is a lot more articulate than your average NHL hockey player.
"Like the Arndale in Manchester without a chip shop, 20 times over" ROFL
The cult will be bigger than ever your music fits in all generation keep rockin Ian seen you in Baltimore in the early 90'S

Yep chords and rifts that make sense I agree. The rest is sawdust in the end.
Superchannel :) ❤
3:25 isn't that ray mondo he's talking about?
No, Nigel Preston
I love Ion❤
Wow I love YOU is his name Ion that's cool despite the heart thing it's kinda funny
It takes a pack of lollipops for Ian to stop talking ....
🤣
Why did Stewart leave, anyway... 'Lennon/McCartney' thing, i'd be guessing...🤔
Uh Oh Duffy picking at pants as we hear a gals shirt was ripped off? Not a good look but probably too late 30 years later. He doesn't talk.
Should have stuck with peace and not gone electric;)

UHMMM,,,What
By this time they are super serious, cliched rock stars ha ha. Ian's a far cry from being a Crass fan, ha ha . SDC
Yeah... You watched this interview. Right? Maybe not.
If Sonic Temple is a marriage of the Love and Electric albums then it's an artistic failure.
I used to think this way, but about a decade ago I realized it really was a the case. It's much better than I used to think.
Sonic Temple, is their greatest record ❤❤
But it lives rent free in my brain for 40 years I must be non artistic
