@@trickywily2823 I wish you said why? I can only assume it is because it has not worked for you. I can say this... it is a love hate relationship at times. The #1 goal of trading is to become consistently profitable. There is a lot of bad information out there on the topic and furthermore, some new traders never tackle what matters in the beginning to carry them through to success. Perceptions about the "reality of trading" can also influence new traders to be disgusted about trading successfully and the likelihood they might experience positive growth. Trading is a money game where only you can be your demise... everything else is just an excuse. Hope that helps some.

Please do. A 15 minutes timeframe too
The 4hour Timeframe is much better because its more significant and you can still Daytrade if you want or Swing it for 2-3 Days. Its all about the Break and Retest Levels, but they dont work that well in the 1hour Timeframe because of the Transition from London Session to NY Session... Volume comes in around 8AM and hunts your Stopp Loss. On the 4 Hour Timeframe there is a Gap Time between 6am and 10am. So yes you can trade the Morning Session but dont forget the Afternoon. Make the Trading descision on the 4H Timeframe and your Entry Level on the 1H so you can look deeper into the Candlestick Price Action. Its like a magnifying glass.
Agree, I've recently switched from the 1h to 4h. The 1h can get a bit 'busy', 4h seems cleaner & easier to spot more meaningful support/ resistance zones

if you trade options on 1hr, im finding that i prefer expirations of 2 weeks to allow time for the trade to fluctuate unless your approaching it from a day trade perspective

I have traded on demo for 2 years, mostly on 4H. I am currently backtesting the 1H on currency pairs. What I see is that it is very hard to reach profit target. I am correct avout the direction often enough, but it stops fast. Is it viable to go for 30 pips and exit the same day on currency pairs. EURUSD it seemed possible. EURGBP it seemed very hard. It just does not move enough. I need to know an average daily high low. Too lazy to figure out myself. The cable I suspect should easily move 50 pips. Then the problem will be that I need too big a stop. I will not go much higher than 15 pips.
Finally. Newbie question. Is the 1H for day trading or swing trading. In my view it should be for day trading.

How can I confirm if if the daily main trend is over. Does it make sense to look at the one hour Fibonacci 50% 618 level and tell if the daily is exactly doing
Rayner Teo: I've actually scalped in a demo account the 1-hour timeframe. It's not a traditional scalp, but more of getting in a 1-candle or 2-candle trade kind of scalping within 2-hours. You can actually profit that way instead of trading a day or more on the 1-hour timeframe. Please comment on this strategy.

No way! MT4 indies are for MT4 only. TradingView has a lot of its own indicators.
whats ur favorite pair of charts rayner? you use the 1 hr and 4 hr mostly? I been using mostly the 5 minute and 15 minute, but im thinking i get hurt on noise too much. But at the same time i want quick trades....maybe i should start usig 1 hr.
Rayner trades different markets (FX mostly) at H4 and D1 timeframes.
my two cents..I got burned a lot off 5m, 15m, or even 30m tf..I have switched to 2h tf because I trade mostly off divergence..as it more reliable on higher tfs.

Daily is very useful, specially to get an idea of the main direction. I enter on 15 min but take lead from daily. Most won't but it is serving me well.
