  • In this video I talk you through one of the most common questions that I receive on my channel "should I choose AAT or go to University"? Here I draw on my own experience and why I chose AAT over going to University over a decade ago.
    This is down to each individuals choice and your own personal circumstances but I hope it helps you to make a decision between going to University in the UK versus undertaking a diploma through the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) in the UK.

    Hi, I’m currently taking a gap year and am applying for a bsc in accounting and finance. In the meantime, would it be worth studying aat level 2,3 and 4 and finishing it during my first year at uni? So would it be good to have both aat and a degree in accounting and finance?

    • @RebeccasFinanceTutorials
      @RebeccasFinanceTutorials  9 месяцев назад

      Hi hun yes It would be great to have both the aat and a degree but you degree might provide you with some exemptions towards the AAT once completed, so I would highly recommend going to the AAT website and seeing if there are any exemptions that apply to you here first x

    Hi, I want to become an accountant and I’m doing AAT at college alongside other 2 A Levels. I don’t know what to do after I finished, do I continue with AAT or is there something else I can do? And where can I find apprenticeships for accounting? I love your videos btw they helped me a lot

    • @RebeccasFinanceTutorials
      @RebeccasFinanceTutorials  3 года назад +1

      Hi Samiha thank you for your lovely comment hun, you can continue with aat through level 3 and level 4 as an option and then complete a fast track route onto the ACCA, CIMA or ACA for example which are higher qualifications. The majority of individuals either complete a degree first or the AAT before taking on the further accounting qualifications mentioned above. In terms of apprenticeships if you go to the aat website there should be a list of approved employers who are looking to put individuals through their aat on a training contract. If you can't find it there then there is also a listing on the ACCA site and the majority of employers will have students at AAT or above on such contracts. I hope this helps but if you can't find the link let me know and I will pop it in the comments section x

      Hi Harleen yes you can still do AAT, infact you will be able to obtain a few exemptions towards the AAT with your University degree but it would be worth taking a look at the websites of PWC, KPMG, Deloitte and BDO to see if there are any internships or positions you can apply to for the year as often they can lead to full time positions after you qualify from university.

    Hi miss finance, I’m hearing that after completion of the level 4 AAT, you can go onto complete the last two years of uni in accounting & finance. Is this true? If so, what unis would accept the AAT as a sole entry requirement?
    Thanks x

    • @RebeccasFinanceTutorials
      @RebeccasFinanceTutorials  2 года назад +1

      Hi hun so with aat level 4 that's the equivalent of a diploma so in terms of researching what universities would accept this it really does depend on the university and the course you want to apply to. Most universities have a support email so it might be worth contacting them directly and asking if having the aat level 4 diploma would be enough credentials to start a particular course. Unfortunately I can't give you a direct answer as some universities have different levels of entry criteria x
