FIRST TIME eating STREET FOOD in Bangkok Chinatown 🇹🇭

- There is something really special about eating food on the street! We take you to the famous Chinatown night market on Yaowarat road in Bangkok Thailand and are on the hunt for street food! This is our very first time visiting Chinatown and we are super excited to find some really good treats and snacks!
Thailand is known for street food vendors making their dishes for over 30-40 years! First one the list is dessert! Mango sticky rice (100THB/$3) we then go for soda slushies that are made in a unique style! (10THB/$0.30). Next up is Khanom buaeng which is a Thai style crispy crepe with a creamy filling (20THB/$0.59) for 4!! We then go a little crazy and try some fried worms(Dev developed a sense of bravery) (50THB/$1.50) And lastly Dev tried to get the taste of bugs out his mouth and end of the night with deep fried shrimp rolls (70THB/$2) which in Shev’s opinion was the tastiest snack of the night! You should try waking up early one day around 5.00 o'clock, try to walk to see the market in the morning. You will find different food of Thailand. It has a mild flavor and it has a nice atmosphere.
I forgot to tell you, the food will be ready around 6:00 AM, so you wake up at that time best.
When I go to different provinces of the country I wake up every morning to go to the morning market of each province. It's a great time to walk around the market.

@@ShevandDev I would recommend you to visit the morning market at the Lumpini Park. There are a lot of breakfast selling over there!! At the back side of the park (Lang Suan Road), there is a Thai food buffet at 40 THB. Then, you can see the morning life of Thai people also like jogging, outdoor gym, outdoor ballroom dance and so on. If you are lucky, you will see a signature animal of the park; a big waranus! lol

I'll hopefully be heading back to BKK March of next year. It will be my 6th time visiting the city and Thailand. I love the country and you are correct, the street food is the best and SO CHEAP! The mango sticky rice with the coconut milk is the best. Like you, one day I spent all day and most of the night in Chinatown just eating and ended up back at my hotel at 10pm just to sleep it all off!!

This is not just the usual jasmine rice. Sticky rice is different and often used as desserts in Thailand. Mango and sticky rice is my favourite, I usually bring back to London every time I visit Thailand 😍.
Please try all other Thai desserts and fruits. Best fruits season is April - June.

A bowl of cold bird nest is also very refreshing. So much collagen for beauty 😍 hahahaha.... The evening street food has so much to try, the very famous grill squid which you guys passed by, then the pork satay, those noodles and etc etc etc. That fried shrimp or crab roll also the famous one in Chinatown 👍👍👍
We have not tried the bird nest yet! And the grilled squid had the longest waiting line! We have to try that next time 😍
Next to shrimp rolls were crabmeat rolls. They are really good. Fish maw soup at the beginning of the clip is really good as well. I am Thai I have never wanted to try fried bugs. I think they are for tourists. Chinatown is famous for seafood and Chinese food. You should try them next time. Love your journey.

The Bamboo Larva (ฺBamboo worm) is actually clean. In the food stall they usually put a lot of soy source but I prefer, if I can, the freshly fly with little salt which already good enough

6:36 The yellow topping of Khanom Bueang is called in Portuguese 'Fios de ovos' it is made of egg yolks and syrup, it was brought to Thailand (Kingdom of Ayutthaya) by Portuguese explorers for around 400 years ago.
You can explore little India of Bangkok 'Pahurat', it is not far from Yaowarat (walkable).

That bamboo worm snacks are called รถด่วน in Thai (pronunced as Road-Dwan) (translated as Speed Trains). Lol. They are sourced from bamboo forests. These are clean worms as they live in the stems of the live bamboo trees. I’ve tried them before. Next time better try them with nothing else except salt and pepper. They tastes like French fries.

Bamboo worms are clean and have a lot of protein. It's very tricky and the most expensive. I like to eat very much, very delicious. It tastes like fries. It has black sauce and a bit of pepper.

That worm is called Rod Duan express train. Hoy Jor with dip sauce which is made from Chinese plum tastes sour and sweet. 😊

Yes, my favourite food you tried today is mango and sticky rice. Another popular dish in Bangkok China town that you haven’t tried is Guay Jub, like flat noodles soup.

Yes Guay Jub is another delicious dish. But u have two choices to order for this dish. It has Guay Jub Nam Sai and Guay Jub Nam Kon. Nam Sai means it comes with clear colour soup while Nam Kon is brown colour soup. I prefers Nam Kon..

The worm that you eat is the worm from the bamboo tree that Thai people call the express car. It is a clean worm. because they only eat bamboo pulp will be quite rare

Yep, I could easily eat mango sticky rice, but insects? Not for me. On my first trip to Thailand I could not believe my eyes that they were selling bags of fried insects... to eat! My views on that have not changed.
