Dimash is 29 years old. This is the same venue, New Wave 2021 as Stranger and Fly Away. So he was 27 I believe during these performances. He's been training since he was five but he became widely known to the world in 2017 so it has been just over 6 years that we've been able to enjoy him.

Ave Maria is Latin for Hail Mary and is literally considered a prayer to the Virgin Mary. More often than not it is referred to as a Catholic prayer. Yes, The version most people are familiar with does have lyrics but when Dimash asked Igor Krutoy to compose a version of Hail Mary for him this vocalized version is The incredible result.

Ever since I first heard this it has been my opinion that it is the very reason that this was composed as a vocalization and not as a lyrical version. However the literal latin translation of Ave Maria is Hail Mary. And all I said is that the Catholics have adopted it as a prayer to the Virgin Mary. Just stating a fact, not opinion, not speculation. Another point being that this is, as far as I know, this is the latest version / composition of this song as there have been many over the years.

Dimash sang Ave Maria at the New Wave 2021 (August 2021) final concert as a guest performer and also one of the judges (member of the jury) for the international competition of young pop singers. This is the same event where he premiered Stranger and Fly Away earlier in the competition week. He also sang two other of his own songs, Your Love and I Miss You. There are only fan cams of Your Love and I Miss You. It's very entertaining to see the I Miss You fan cam as it was only his second live performance in Russia since the quarantine derailed his Arnau concert tour in 2020. The fans mobbed the stage with a ton of flowers after his song ended. He was stunned at the flood. His face was priceless! (LOL) 🤣

According to the author, it is more like the vocalization of "Ave Maria", written by the Russian lutenist V.Vavilov in 1970 (St. Petersburg, Russia) and published by the author under the name of the little-known Italian composer Giulio Caccini (1551-1618). "Ave Maria" by Vavilov (Caccini), which is still performed by many world singers, is also performed as a vocalization. Dimash was born in May 1994 in Kazakhstan (i.e. he’s currently 29). He sang this version of Ave Maria for the first time here at the New Wave Festival in Sochi, when he was 27 ...however, he’s been performing since the age of 5 (there are early videos of him on his YT channel).

Wow, 68 Ave Maria settings from 7 eras... but now 69! I mean, this song is on the same high level as Schubert's or Vavilov's (Caccini's) Ave Maria... also beyond all spirituality, just wonderful music.
* Igor Krutoy ( piano), *1954 in Ukraine SSR. He lives and works in Moscow/Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia (billionaire). His family lives in the US. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship.
Maestro Igor Krutoy shared the story of the creation of the work 'Ave Maria' for Dimash.
When writing a hit, Krutoy is guided by the Italian principle: every composer is worth exactly what his latest work is worth, which means that all previous successes and achievements do not count.
“On one of the nights, about three months before New Wave, Dimash called and asked if I could write 'Ave Maria' for him and he explained that he wanted to sing something in that style... Coincidentally, I had a spare evening, and I happily sat down at the piano and, inspired by the memory of the Italian formula of responsibility, worked until I achieved the desired result. It took me a few days to 'let' the composition 'lay' in my ears, soul and heart, and sent it to Dimash, who replied literally within half an hour that: ‘This is exactly what I wanted to hear', said Krutoy. Dimash started performing at age 5, and he's 29 this year.
Dimash received his BA in Contemporary Music which included pop and jazz, and his major is in composition.
He very soon will be Dr. Kudaibergen. He has just about completed his Doctorate, a PhD in Musicology. He will have completed 3 advanced degrees back to back, with honors, while simultaneously maintaining a successful performing career.
Dimash asked Krutoy to write a new version for him. And singing only the notes without words makes the music interdenominational/universal.

Ave Maria is Latin for Hail Mary and is literally considered a prayer to the Virgin Mary. More often than not it is referred to as a Catholic prayer.
Yes, The version most people are familiar with does have lyrics but when Dimash asked Igor Krutoy to compose a version of Hail Mary for him this vocalized version is The incredible result.

This is not a 'version of Hail Mary - this is intended as a prayer for all nations - Dimash is Muslim, Igor Krutoy is Jewish and this is not specific for Catholic's

Ever since I first heard this it has been my opinion that it is the very reason that this was composed as a vocalization and not as a lyrical version. However the literal latin translation of Ave Maria is Hail Mary. And all I said is that the Catholics have adopted it as a prayer to the Virgin Mary. Just stating a fact, not opinion, not speculation. Another point being that this is, as far as I know, this is the latest version / composition of this song as there have been many over the years.

Dimash sang Ave Maria at the New Wave 2021 (August 2021) final concert as a guest performer and also one of the judges (member of the jury) for the international competition of young pop singers. This is the same event where he premiered Stranger and Fly Away earlier in the competition week. He also sang two other of his own songs, Your Love and I Miss You. There are only fan cams of Your Love and I Miss You. It's very entertaining to see the I Miss You fan cam as it was only his second live performance in Russia since the quarantine derailed his Arnau concert tour in 2020. The fans mobbed the stage with a ton of flowers after his song ended. He was stunned at the flood. His face was priceless! (LOL) 🤣

Igor Krutoy has created several songs just for the voice of Dimash. How wonderful for him to be able to use any notes and know Dimash can sing them, no limits. Ogni Pietra, Passionne, Stranger, Miss You are some that was for Dimash and Dimash sings other songs that Igor has written prior to discovering dimash, like Love of Tired Swans.

The vocalization of "Ave Maria" by Igor Krutoy was written specifically for Dimash and was not based on the well-known themes of Schubert, Bach/Gounod. According to the author, it is more like the vocalization of "Ave Maria", written by the Russian lutenist V.Vavilov in 1970 (St. Petersburg, Russia) and published by the author under the name of the little-known Italian composer Giulio Caccini (1551-1618). "Ave Maria" by Vavilov (Caccini), which is still performed by many world singers, is also performed as a vocalization. Maestro Krutoy wrote many songs for Dimash, and there are links on the singer's website. ❤

What most people don’t know is that there are over 60 songs out there call “Ave Maria.” Dimash is 29 years old, now, which means he was 27 when he vocalized Krutoy’s “ Ave Maria.” By the way, Dimash is 6’3”. He’s not a little guy! 😊

Dimash was born in May 1994 in Kazakhstan (i.e. he’s currently 29). He sang this version of Ave Maria for the first time here at the New Wave Festival in Sochi, when he was 27 ...however, he’s been performing since the age of 5 (there are early videos of him on his YT channel).
