Ary, Back in the summer of 1965, I worked the second shift in a warehouse on Atlantic St whose back side faced this place. Aerosol Technique used that warehouse. The warehouse was knocked down some time ago. Google Earth does not show anything from that time period. I remember my co-workers and I would go to White's Restaurant of Iranistan Ave for "lunch" at 8:00 PM. White's was next to the liquor store. I became a beach bum at Seaside Park in 1964. From 1959- 1963 I went to the beach on Seltsam Rd at Bunnells Pond across from Beardsley Park. I worked at Kelly's Refreshment Stand there from 1959-1963. After the beach was demolished to make room for the highway, I went to Seaside Park. I been there ever since.

I have been amazed over your interest in Bridgeport HISTORY !!! Many things are gone and forgotten. I have had this hobby most my life but enjoy old railroad stuff. Hey..chase railroad stuff and HISTORY HISTORY !!! I wonder where you got that map of Crane Company ?
hey..chase something before it is gone ?? The railroad going old Remington Arms but as it curves north to Boston Avenue those old closed factories !!! I tried but got booted by big security so there must be something there of interest ?? !! Do not live in Bridgeport but grew up in area.
Once the steam railroad down Seaview Avenue used to dirty peoples clothes and cars etc. Any old pictures ? Probably not.

I remember the Arcade on Main Street. I believe Walgreens was next to it.I also remember the Twin Drive-ins( Candlelite Drive-in and Pix drive-in). There was also the Norwalk drive-in and the Derby drive-in. Do you remember the "twin theatres": the Beverly Theatre and the Hi-way Theatre? I rememeber seeing the movie Godzilla, when it first came out, in the Beverly Theatre.

HEY..YOU SENT A COMMENT....I think I have your email address but if so will not bug anybody and invade privacy etc !!! It is just I have that chronic history bug and must be similar to you. As I mentioned a place of interest before gone are those old factories below Boston Avenue and the railroad tracks going north/south through there. I tried snooping last year I think it was and security jumped on me !! Did not want any arrests so no argue anything. 24 hour security ? If I lived close I'd figure something out but---- perfume factory fire..the complex south of that ? I am just a snooper and no harm to anything but I guess insurance causes much security stuff BUT still wonder why that place is so important.
QUARRY ROAD ?? Some old maps show a quarry along the railroad there. As I always say where are all the old pictures ? few if any No money of interest but just history.(some think pictures equal money but.... I commented once on the railroad line in Stratford. Unknown status but one snoop said owned by some Penn Central insurance company. Otherwise history unknown except Mobil Chemical used the line up to a few years ago. By Lordship Blvd still an active light. Who pays the electric bill ? --enough for now... (I am a getting old person with some health problems that have sidetracked me but everybody gets old.(no?)))))
