The reason it's printed is because Bonfire originated as Emi Ayukawa's card (the nurse from Yu-Gi-Oh GX) and she used Burning Algae in her deck as part of nurse burn. Her duel is also what debuted Darklord Nurse Reficule which helped make nurse burn into an actual strategy.
Kyklo the Circular Fairy's intended target is Fairyant the Circular Sorcerer, which specials itself if you have a plant or insect in grave, and the Synchro that you are intended to go into with them is Circle of the Faeries, which gives you an additional normal for a plant or insect. you can also revive Kyklo when Circle is brought out, which gives you access to either a Link 2 (and better avenues for a Link 2 exist), or a Lvl 11 synchro, which i don't think any particularly relevant ones exist for a plant/insect deck. you can go into PEP, but im not sure what he does at equal life points. so maybe you go into a different level 7 synchro? but im not sure what. if only diabolantis was a Lvl 7 Opening Lonefire means by tributing this to go into Kyklo, you already have a plant in grave. Or you can hope you open another plant or insect, which is admittedly pretty likely
Making ancient fairy off these is the best thing you can do I think, life gain trigger for jasmine and can pop discolluseum to grab konkon, it's not a 1 card combo or anything insane, but its very nice

Obv quite gimmicky, but it's a play you can make.
Im not sure it can revive itself if its used as synchro material because it isnt in the GY at time of summon. One of the stardust cards works this way at least. I might be wrong.
Circular's effect is meant for Fairyant which can then special summon itself :) Side note, I'm entertained by all the "Plant/Insect" specific support we're getting shortly before Raika drops...which could be awkward since none of these cards work with Reptile, which is definitely the weakest link of the trio as-far as generic support goes.
MBT says "if telefon taught me anything, its that you can print 'win the game' on a card and noone will play it" kinda brings in a good point, just because a card summons from deck, shuffles opponents cards, or searchers and ss itself, doesnt mean it'll be played or that it's good. it needs to have those effects for the RIGHT cards.
That Field spell digging for a card to put back another is NOT actually a minus 1 since it's a FIELD SPELL(meaning it stays on the field so you can use it later for Droplet/Linkage/etc., just don't chain to its effect unless it's already getting negated since you'll shut it off), your opponent is going to have to negate it before you get the option to put a card back(meaning "worst case" it trades for a negate/pop just like any other draw spell with a cost would, except you don't pay that cost when it gets disrupted), and whatever card you pick up with it is going to be something better than whatever you have in your hand to put back (i.e. Psy-Frame Driver, another copy of the field spell, a Kaiju you want in deck for IKS, or a HOPT starter you drew 3 of). Not surprised people looking at this card by comparing it to Prospy are failing at evaluating it. That's also not even getting into how much more value Extra deck cards have compared to Main Deck ones nowadays, especially if you're on cards that can just throw something out of the Extra Deck(like a ton of new cards that have been coming out recently since Duality, or RUNICKS for that matter), or easy access ED cards like S:P and TY-PHON(which are fine for breaking boards, but not as great for maintaining position if they're all you have left to work with). Prospy is a busted going first card since it lets you establish enough of a board to not worry as much about losing 40% of that utility, but for going second it's a lot worse unless you can OTK through halved damage into an established board with just 9 ED options(and chances are you've using over half of those to set up a mid board after breaking the opponent's and hoping that's enough). That said, I DO only think this card is worth it if you're blinding Second AND run a deck that can side to go first, since running 3 of them essentially gives you 3 free spaces in your main deck to shove in whatever going first cards you want. So in that respect I don't think it's AS good a card as a lot of things, but for that specific niche is potentially worth a consideration for now. Maybe if Triple Tactics/Thrust and targeting dodges makes hand traps too much of a liability to run, or the most common ones that get use put monsters on the opponent's field, or your OWN plays put multiple monsters and/or field spells on the opponent's field(like when people find dumb things to do with those new Ashened cards), this could be good in other things eventually, right now it's just something to unbrick a hand full of board breakers though, which is fine but not something you're going to see a lot of "pros" respect as an option.
You can do ALOT with the circle of fairies cards and the combos extend even further if you use sailor, pineapple, spore, or rose lover, naturia, even insects. I'm excited for all the plants/ insect support 😂 doesn't have to be game warping to be good or useful

Find it weird kyklos mentions insect tuners and there isn't that many. Only 3 I can think of but 1 is dragonbite and it needs a ns (yes beetrooper link 2 exists but this wastes the normal summon). Then for synchro insects there almost nothing. It's just diablolantis, battlewasps, 1 tg card and that locust synchro tuner. I wonder if a another synchro insect deck is in the works as this has been comming up more with insect tuners.

The One by One spell is just straight up Nemleria support. They're the only deck that comes to mind that completely benefits from the card with no drawbacks.
There are 3 reasons that someone might play the field spell that excavates over prosperity in a going second deck: 1. No extra deck loss, useful if you’re tight on ED space. 2. No damage halving, you deal full damage which is useful considering that you usually plan to OTK. 3. Even though it is a -1, you can return garnets back into the deck, which is really nice since my garnets magically seem to appear in hand in half of my games.
Where theres a will could see in madolche to put their brick into the deck and get rid of the field spell with their own. it wants to go second and doesnt want to banish from the ED
the problem i see is that you need already 2 dinos on field to summon it and everybody know dino doesn't have a lot of extenders to do so since is a normal reliant deck. If card said "control a dino" then that will be great. Konami is really scared about the possibility of doing dino great again...
It's worth to note that the Lv. 1 XYZ works also if you summon a monster on your field that has it's effects negated. Which means you can for example special summon Unchained Rakea with Tour Guide and try to activate Rakea, it doesn't work and with that the condition for the XYZ is fullfilled. There are plenty of cards that special summon monsters with their effects negated but if you still can activate them even if they don't resolve, you fullfilles the criteria of that XYZ monster. In the right deck this card gives you a fat Zeus or something that can transition this card into another one with a lot of material.
This is just the beginning, Circulars will come for every deck that needs a boost. Can't wait for EARTH Machine Circular, and Floowandereeze & Circular.
The One by One We Walk card has its use. Its meant to be used as a going first card, and if you can banish 2 cards facedown in your combo, its live. Why? Because handtraps. Its effect activates whenever anything is sent to the graveyard. Still its pretty bad.
Idea for the field spell in a wonky combo deck: rose garden for 5 tokens and afd for theres a will, stacking deck in anyway beforehand and you only need maybe one token for anything
Ngl,the fieldspell seems really good in sky striker. The deck has a lot of ways to remove it after its used(linkage,area zero etc.) and digging for an engage seems really nice

imo that field spell is not that bad. Yes it is go-second-only and -1 in cards, but it doesn't halve your damage like prosperity, which is crucial for blind second deck. Also set rotation exists and the OCG has prosperity limited.
Also the field spell counts excavations made not just by the field spell, so in a deck like adamancipator can really use this card to the fullest extent.
That's what I was thinking. At the very least, it only takes 2 negates to make it a smaller Towers, so it isn't completely useless even if you don't get 8 mats turn 1. It feels like the idea behind the card is similar to Maxx "C" or Nibiru assuming you have a combo to summon it first thing in your turn, like "sure you can negate my plays, but will you take that risk when each negate brings us closer to a board wipe"?
Its amazing how people thought for a minute that Konami was taking a stance against Circular based on its design only for them to shove it up their @sses with another similarly designed card for another type. They don't see this game in the same way as the players do. Never have, never will.
If the field reaches MD with 3x Chicken Game still legal, there's going to be shenanigans afoot. Diviner of the Herald is a "1-card" AFD combo, that uses Magicians' Souls. That's a lot of digging, between the 2 fields and MS. Basically Terraforming on steroids, if you squint. Then, with all the Visas fields available, or DLink's targets, or whatever other field spell fun, it's just absurd. Honestly already is crazy without the new field, but who doesn't like more consistency? Also, even got Rev Synchron incoming for more AFD options..

It might as well not be there, when's the last time your opponent controlled 9 cards? I mean if you get to AFD or something like that then I guess it does something, but it might even be detrimental because your opponent can use it (unless you remove it yourself, which is effectively the minus regardless)

If you consider having a field spell in play a +1, sure. But just having the field spell in play isn't useful after getting the excavate. It's actually a downside, since your opponent can use it.

It's a -1 in the same sense that Fire Formation - Tenki is card neutral. Literally speaking, the cards are neutral and +1 respecively, but for most purposes one of your cards does not matter after the effect resolves. Calling the field spell a -1 is an informal way of referring to the concept that, after its resolution, it's likely that one of the cards in your possession no longer meaningfully contributes to the number of choices/resources you have available. With the new dino card you can use xeno to synchro since it’s a tuner for Baronne and still have the materials for Lars.

Tyke can activate off of arvata and rangbali. It won’t be optimal but snake eyes fire kings can totally run it and get it to 8 mats

I mean if you get to AFD or something like that then I guess it does something, but it might even be detrimental because your opponent can use it (unless you remove it yourself, which is effectively the minus regardless)

How is the field spell a minus one? It stays on the field right? Activate you have 5 in hand 1 on field, resolve add to hand return from hand, thats still 5 right?
If you consider having a field spell in play a +1, sure. But just having the field spell in play isn't useful after getting the excavate. It's actually a downside, since your opponent can use it.

There are a few uses. Droplet, diabel, snake-eye tribute, original etc etc. I don't think it's the same as not having it.
It's a -1 in the same sense that Fire Formation - Tenki is card neutral. Literally speaking, the cards are neutral and +1 respecively, but for most purposes one of your cards does not matter after the effect resolves. Calling the field spell a -1 is an informal way of referring to the concept that, after its resolution, it's likely that one of the cards in your possession no longer meaningfully contributes to the number of choices/resources you have available.

No you need to excavate 9 cards in the same turn to activate the shuffle eff. Thats alot easier to accomplish.
