Oh my! It’s lovely. An absolute amazing find. Sorry to hear about your eBay experience. I was able to purchase a Sheaffer 1939 Vintage pen at the 2023 Dallas Pen Show and a Montblanc Meisterstuck No. 12 1950s vintage pen at the 2024 Dallas pen show. I also had a good experience purchasing a 1977 Pilot Pocket pen (looks like Elite, but smaller) on eBay a couple months ago. I just checked the availability of vintage pens at AndersonPens. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! And sounds like you have a good vintage stash going! I think that's a good move with purchasing at a pen show if you can so you can fully inspect it and maybe even dip test to make sure the nibs work for you. Thanks for sharing!
I’m very fond of vintage Esterbrook. Mainly for the array of swappable nibs to choose from. I have a bunch of J, LJ and SJ pens, including all six colors of the J pens. I like the Esterbrook Dollar pen best., I have this SJ Copper pen. Too small, but it somehow works out for me. I use it occasionally. The color finish does look very attractive and unique. I have it filled with a brown ink and fitted with a medium stub Esterbrook nib (can’t remember the number now). But I never liked levers as a filling mechanism. Somewhat inconvenient to use, prone to failing, not hard to fix, but still annoying. The arsenal of vintage Esterbrook steel nibs enhance the appeal of these pens a lot. I have sixteen of the nibs of my choice. And I often change and use them among my fleet of vintage Esterbrooks. And yes, the Andersons are fine people running a first-rate store. I’ve sometimes bought from them - mainly vintage pens. Thanks for the neat review of a very charming old pen.

My very first fountain pen was a leaver fill!
What a neat first pen!
