    I'm 59 and just trying it too. I fell again and again. Great job showing the difficulty for us older guys or gals. Purchased a wobble board and am working on my balance and ankle flexibility daily.

    This made my day!! I have kayaked for years but just purchased a new paddleboard at a ridiculous price at a liquidation sale and look forward to the new adventure. I'm 70 and still very active but standing up from being on the floor is difficult enough but I will overcome. I'm researching and watching all these videos but most of them are so experienced that the person doing the video has no idea what it's like to get older and have difficulty doing the basics. Your video not only gave me quite a few laughs but just encouraged me to go for it. I have a couple of months before the weather will suitable for falling in the water over and over and over so I'm working on getting stronger and more agile until then. Hope it works. Please keep us updated on your progress.

    Hi guys. I am 78 and just started SUP.
    Hired a board and an instructor (live in Spain). Not fat but balance all over the place and legs not as strong as I thought. Kept falling in. Bought a crossover board as the intention is to wingfoil!!
    Practiced standing up in swimming pool. Rope the board to stay in the centre of the pool. Head on concrete not ideal. Stood up twice and stayed standing. Next venture to the water.
    Enjoy.

      Don't worry. It can take some time.
      Don't be tempted to spend all your time kneeling. Keep standing, even if you keep falling in. If you avoid standing because you don't want to take a dunk then it takes way longer to develop balance.
      Good luck.

    Well done. You wouldn't let it beat you. Hope you're still paddling? I've just started paddle boarding too. Like you I'm a beginner, so no expert, but I think you had your paddle facing backwards most of the time. Isn't the bend in the blade supposed be angled forward? if not I'm sure someone will correct me. Happy paddling.

    • @kathawenzel8033
      @kathawenzel8033 3 года назад +4

      you're absolutely right...and some more stuff like beginners would do wrong... 😅...like having the feet behind the handle of the board...there's the mid so it's most balanced there...or having no leash...or looking straight into camera when trying to get up instead of looking to the horizon...and so on and so on...but respect for trying! 😊 enough room to improve 😁

    • @kirtandreamrezzer

      Hi Welsh Lad. Some boards come with a hole ready to mount the camera. If not, the camera should/might come with a mount that you can stick to the board. I'm yet to use mine which is why I'm looking at tips. I watched a couple of ''Blue Planet Surf'' guides just before this which I'm glad about as, no disrespect to this guy, I could see a few things he was doing wrong. I'm knocking the door of 50, 5, 10" and 90+ Kilos, been out twice on the board but for the life of me I can't stand up, no matter how much I try I wobble and fall, the board is 10.5 and 30 wide don't know if that's a factor or I just need more practice, 20 Kilos ago I tried surfing and seemed to get my balance pretty quickly but on the sup there's zero stability.
