- Final Smashes - introduced back in Brawl, these allow every character to perform a super cool finishing move. But do our Smash Pros even know what they are? Since they've never been used in competitive play, let's see how many of these final smashes Coney, WaDi, and VikkiKitty can recognize by name!

Understandable. If Wrath Strike was my introduction to Combat Arts and only saw that it takes more durability away from the sword, the only combat arts I would use would be the bow arts and the star arts

I watched Prosafia Games' all final smashes video so I knew most of the names.
It's so funny to me that Coney said the line "unshackle the chains" when trying to guess Shulk's final smash bc there's a very similar line during XC1 regarding the Monado in a very important part of the game

I could not believe he used the language in the game and then completely missed shulk. That was easily the most annoying part for me. Also, you know none of these guys played Xenoblade chronicles at all given they didn't know chain attacks at all.

For me it was Vikki asking if Progenitor God Ruptured Heaven was spoilers because she was almost done with the game. I'm just wondering how on earth she missed two terms used almost exclusively in the first half of Three Houses, especially one used as frequently as Progenitor God. I can excuse missing Ruptured Heaven because using combat arts is a waste on the low durability and expensive to repair Heroes' Relics on lower difficulties and Ruptured Heaven kinda sucks even then.

I don't understand how "Covering Fire" doesn't have you immediately think of something shooting to cover you. I get not knowing lore ones, but "covering fire" is an actually term. It has nothing to do with actual flames. That should have been an easy one. Coney was the only one thinking on the right track lol.

I'll be honest, I got that one wrong because I was thinking about the Gunmen aiming at us/our enemies, and I figured it was Duck Hunt.

I don't even play/own a Switch. I just played the shit out of Melee and Brawl like a decade and I like these quiz videos.
I'm only up to Palu as of now and the only ones I got wrong so far were Mythra and Bayo. The only one I actually knew the name of was Sephiroth. The rest just sounds like exactly what they are lol.

I honestly wonder if Vikki even plays the games she says she plays, the Progenitor God part was pretty much common knowledge for anyone who's even seen a glimpse of Three Houses lore.
I mean Sakurai does have a habit for dropping huge spoilers on us, like how he said that Aerith dies at the end of FF7
I never use that sword though cause of the durability and resting is cringe
The fact most Smash pros just never touch a huge chunk of the game they play professionally is still so surreal to me XD
To be fair they nerfed the fuck out of final smashes in this game, they used to be super creative with stuff like Kirby's pot, Snake's helicopter, and Wario Man, and now 90% of them are an aerial multi hit and slam, 50-60 damage cutscene, or big fuck off laser

1: Limitations on the 3DS/Wii U
2: Final Smashes like Giga Bowser Wario-Man Landmaster Super Sonic were difficult to use for the inexperienced players so they had to they make them more simple and straightforward
@@Antonio-is2cn More like because those were the absolutely broken ones that could take multiple stocks at times. I guess they wanted to even them out across the board to make them more "move-like", probably mostly because of the FS Meter
Well they do play that chunk and then NEVER again. Straight back to the competitive scene where they forget 95% of the game.

As someone who plays with final smashes sometimes this was one of the easiest quizzes for me
I got 14/20 which was more than everyone's scores combined
I got 19/20, guessed Mii Gunner when the answer was Kazuya.
I play mostly competitive, and got 18/20. This was a really fun one

I love how I literally never play with Final Smash and yet most of them can be figured out with process of elimination.
As someone who knows every final smash, I know this is gonna be a painful one.

Yeah, I studied them for the Smash Universe fanfiction I write. So I like to look at their final smash to determine their power levels.
Watching them constantly say Ness who literally shouts PK starstorm took years off my life.
I barely play the game anymore, let alone with final smashes, and I still got more than half. Idk how they miss some of these.

Actually, it's Xenoblade Chronicles, the other games with Xeno in the title have nothing to do with the Xenkblade Chronicles universe.

Isabelle's Final Smash is called "Dream Town Hall", but it's just Villager's Final Smash and deals more damage.

I could honestly believe that most people in these quizzes have never played a video game outside of Smash, and, honestly, good for them.
And even then they barely know about stuff that's in the game.
At least it's fun to see them suffer through this quizzes.
So yeah, I'll probably get every Final Smash, so I'll react to the contestants' responses and give some trivia.
1) Come on, Climax is Bayonetta's whole thing. What bugs me most though is whoever recorded the final smash didn't mash the button. >:[
2) Vikki can't pronounce Jinjonator, and the answer can't spell Kazooie.
3) Took me a second to remember, but that's Mythra. Had a feeling they'd get tripped on Zelda; Zelda used to use the Bow of Light, though now she uses the Triforce. Then Link uses the Ancient Arrow.
4) Covering Fire means the guys that are firing to help cover Snake's activity. His old Final Smash was simply Grenade Launcher.
5) Dream Home is Villager's Final Smash. Isabelle is Dream Town Hall, though it's basically the same thing.
6) Longest attack in RPG history. Supernova's iconic, guys. Come on, it's Sephiroth.
7) I believe Pair Up was a mechanic introduced in FE Awakening, where two units move together. Figured they'd get stuck on the actual duos though aside from Robin, especially since Chrom's a roster character now. [And WaDi, Disney cartoons are not in Smash Bros and never will be. Nintendo made that clear, best is the keychain.]
8) Black Hole and Mega Laser were pretty powerful in Kid Icarus Uprising, and Palutena announces these names in the Final Smash.
9) Glad Coney got Olimar. End of Day's the best he's got, anyone left behind gets eaten, then suffer from Olimar's horrible piloting skills.
10) Steve's House of Boom was based off prank houses in Minecraft.
11) I actually guessed Sheik. Hers was Sheikah Dance now I look it up, of course.
12) Mii Gunner. [Oh, Kazuya. Now I've lost my perfect streak.]
13) Corrin, had to think on it. That move is completely original to Smash, so it's tough if you don't know it.
14) It's not Sheik I know, it's the other ninja. Really should've called Greninja's move Night Slash or something.
15) Byleth's murdering my boi. :<
16) Coney and Vikki got tricked by "Chain" and guessed Belmont, WaDi got closer by thinking linking combos. Chain Attack was a special combo attack in Xenoblade Chronicles, though your party could only consist of 3 characters. Fiora shouldn't be here [concern of both lost consistency and spoilers].
17) Ultra Sword was from Return to Dreamland, been Kirby's move since Smash 4.
18) Killer Wail is one of several special weapons in the 1st Splatoon game, mostly tossed out of Splatoon 2.
19) Vikki, you kept saying Incineroar. This is your time. You blew it. Malicious Moonsault was Incineroar's unique Z-Move in Sun/Moon, and the Smash Ball's power increased its power to Max.
20) Has to be Mii Gunner, Samus is Zero Laser (looked it up since I forgot).
to be exact, killer wail is in splatoon 1, got tossed out in splatoon 2, and brought back in splatoon 3 as the Killer Wail 5.1, which is 6 mini killer wails that can target 3 players max.
im a bit of a splatoon fan, so yeah
Vikki really said she was close to finishing 3H and didn't get Progenitor God Ruptured Heaven. I refuse to believe she even got past the academy phase.
She probably thinks it aint got the time skip. Still, how do you not know ruptured heaven when you play that game? Thats actually crazy.

@@Sancnea I guess if she really got past a time skip, she not only has to have convoyed the sword of the creator, but she also has to have skipped all of the sothis, seteth and rhea scenes. Not saying theres a right way to play 3H, but there is definitely a wrong one.

20/20, easiest quiz on the channel thus far, and for that reason the actual video performance stunned me.
Do this again but with Marss, ESAM, and/or Little Z. Surely they'll do better than this group, WaDi and Vikki's inability to take the context clues floored me. I NEED to see how the other actual players fare.
If Vikki is about to beat Three Houses, then shouldn't she know Ruptured Heaven is a signature skill of Byleth's? That one's just amazing.
Bold, considering Marss is easily consistently one of the worst performers in these quizzes. Little Z would probably get a lot more correct, but the rest of the crew probably haven't even seen most of these final smashes since their first run through World of Light. The reason this quiz is "easy" for many in the audience is because they do see these final smashes on a fairly routine basis, so you're able to connect the name to all the various animations in your head, whereas they're mostly attempting to connect the name to specific characters themselves (e.g. Infernal Climax, Torrential Roar)
OK dude, there's no way you think this was easy, Secret ninja attack was a 50/50 on greeninja or shiek. Heck, full blast could be half the cast.
@@343Films Hey, I never said the others would 100% sweep like we do, but the results gotta at least do _better_ than WaDi and Vikki. Marss plays with items and Final Smashes time to time, Little Z knows his stuff, and ESAM is a giga-nerd on most things about characters, may not include Final Smashes - would make good content to try again with a new crowd. You're definitely right about it being easier for us in the audience due to familiarity with the animations though; difficult to put yourself in their shoes, though, since they're so knowledgeable about the game in other ways (though I do use the term loosely, as any of these other quizzes will show).

I am so glad I still play casually cause this quiz was a damn cakewalk. The only one I got wrong was Kazuya since I never knew his Final Smash name was so generic.
I fr thought it was Mii Gunner because of how generic it sounded. Funny how I didn't know the name of one of my favorite final smashes
I figured it was mii gunner or a fighting game character since Fighting games either have generic names or some outlandish goofy ass names
I got 14/20, I'm surprised I got Pair up and Chain attack. I remembered Pair up because I remembered seeing the hint for that in smash 4 I think, and in Shulk's final smash he literally says "Time for a chain attack!"
Mythra’s final smash is called sacred arrow because the attack is a gunshot from her Artifice (a gundom), Siren
one of the best memories i have growing up with Brawl casually was playing kirby, inhaling snake, and using his final smash, he gets the chef hat but keeps snake's beard so he just looks like a fat italian chef
Damn, I killed it for this quiz. One of the few videos where I not only beat all the Pandas, but actually did WAY better than them. Good quiz, would like to see this return!
You know, some should try to remember how the final smash was, before guessing. Like that Vikki wouldn't guess Pit for Sacred Arrow, because if you try to remember what was Pit's final smash, you would remember it is Pit running over you with some horses, with no arrows in sight, and would know it isn't that. Another example would be that if you tried to remember Ice Climbers' final Smash, you know it isn't so much a team up attack, and more a giant iceberg.
To be fair, in Smash Wii U Pit's final smash did involve firing arrows of light, and given that a few of them were mixed up because they were remembering Brawl, they clearly remember back that far.

I never play this game casually and this was still the most painful 17 minutes of my life
As someone who regularly plays casually with friends, this felt like a power trip for me.
20/20 probably the moment where it kicked in that I play waaay to much final smash meter games is when i said “black hole, and mega laser!” Instead of palutena but sephiroths almost got me then i thought about it and then the funny moment with shuck cracked me up but good vid!

This just shows how little about Smash pro players really know about Smash as a whole game. GRANTED final smashes are not part of their scene. Imagine how different this would be if final smashes were legal competitively. I would like to see this same challenge but with like Neutral specials and see the difference between the videos.
Even just general knowledge about characters!
And also, Smash players need to play more games.
Even with neutral specials or any move, smash players dont need to know the names of any of the moves. its not useful information and its kind of out of the way to run into the names.

Isabelle doesn't actually have the same final smash as villager because her's is named something else since the building built for it is a town hall. It was very lenient to give Coney the point.
17/20 I think that’s the best I’ve done in a Panda quiz. Mythra literally screaming Sacred Arrow and they don’t know it. Someone clearly never had to play casual with a mashy little sibling lol. Same thing with Shulk.

When i saw the third one i was laughing so hard, knowing nobody would get it and think about the zelda franchise . I've heard this voiceline too many times to not hear the character scream this attack in my head whenever i see the name.

@@jacklantz7535 Not only that, but play other games besides smash and thus have actual knowledge on characters besides just their frame data and tier placement. I feel like just having some knowledge on the games most of where the characters derive and thus what their FS is referencing would let you get 90% of this.
The green child png in Byleth's final smash is named Sothis, she is referred to as the Progenitor God in 3 Houses, Byleth's special unique skill tied to their sword The Sword of the Creator in 3 Houses is Ruptured Heaven hence the name Progenitor God Ruptured Heaven (Stupid name I know)
The big damage ability in Xenoblade 1 is the Chain Attack, you freeze time then your party takes turns using skills 3-15 times depending on 1 part the connection between your party and another part luck.
Mythra's golden light things in her Final Smash are actually orbital bombardments from her mech Siren that hangs out in space, when you're fighting inside of buildings or caves then the ability won't actually connect in the original game
Sephiroth's Supernova is still to this day the single longest animation for a single attack in any video game clocking in at 1 minute and 51 seconds.

Its kinda sad to me to see that these top pros don't actually know these things. They are so concerned with competing that most of them never really see all this game has to offer. It might be another of many reasons why Sakurai doesn't acknowledge the competitive scene much.

Sakurai does consider the competitive scene. During Sephiroth's showcase he was literally talking about frame data before he laughed it off with a joke like "ahh actually maybe I shouldn't be talking about this. This is just a party game, right?"
I guessed every single one right almost immediately, and it’s been a little while since I last played with Final Smashes, but I can remember just about all of them by memory. But this really proves how “pro smash players” are so blind to big important parts of the game lol. It was painful to watch (though still laughable).
