It has been way too long!!!!!! I'm very very sorry but I hope this was worth the wait! This was definitely a learning curve to me since it's the first time I've actually tried tweening and,, who would've guessed? It's actually pretty hard x-x

Lore summary: Gorsestar, Reddclan's leader, is famously too soft and lenient. He lets his clanmates step all over him and even overlooks the abuse they inflict on the apprentices, even if his adoptive daughter, Salmonpaw, is among them. A trio composed of her and Rockeye's (the deputy) kits, Blizzardpaw and Lynxpaw, begin growing tired of how permissive their leader is.
Meanwhile, on a particularly prey-scarce season, Gorsestar puts up no resistance when the neighboring clans start taking more and more territory from Reddclan, which subjects the clan to a terrible famine. All cats grow weaker by the day and Salmonpaw's anger at her mistreatment grows as well. She begins planning a coup. Gorsestar is warned by Shellfern, the healer, that he will be betrayed by a cat close to him. He is unable to do anything about it.
Salmonpaw receives her warrior name, Salmonface, and her courage to have faced such harsh training is honored by her father and clanmates. She starts to think that maybe she could finally be happy, away from her terrible mentor, and finds peace.
However, one night, a battle takes everyone by surprise as the enemy clan breaks their promise and threatens to take one of the last few places Reddclan cats can still find prey. As the cats are starved, there are many losses, including Salmonface's girlfriend, Lynxpaw, that was due to receive her warrior name soon. Salmonface blames Gorsestar for her death and suddently sees herself on a strange place with a strong blood stench and with blinding lights coming from all directions.
A suspicious cat greets her and presents herself as Snowstep. They talk and ultimately Salmonface turns completely against her father, remembering that even if he raised her, he watched all her misfortunes happen and did nothing to stop them. She sees a future where she can become leader and, thus, gain her clanmates' respect by crushing Gorsestar and recovering everything that was taken from Reddclan.
She easily convinces Blizzardwhisker to help her with her plans and begins spreading the word that no cat would be hungry again if Gorsestar was no longer leader. She gains support from a good portion of her clanmates.
Her plan runs smoothly: she creeps into the leader's den and fights with Gorsestar, who is, as always, unable to do anything but accept his fate. She taunts him as his last hope, Rockeye, is stopped from intervening and is killed by Blizzardwhisker. With no successor to leadership and seeing the monster his daughter has become, he tries to eliminate her. However, his poor fighting skills and his refusal to open his eyes as he attacked made him miss and shred her ear instead. All hesitation leaves Salmonface as Gorsestar retaliates. She again taunts him by saying how much he will not be missed and how she'll fix everything. He is then killed.
Reddclan becomes completely devoid of leader or deputy on a single afternoon. Salmonface announces what she has done, to much delight and horror of her clan. She becomes leader and bestows deputyship on Blizzardwhisker, her most loyal follower.
(In the future, Heronscar and Thrifthop are seen looking at Salmonstar in much the same way she, Lynxpaw and Blizzardpaw used to look at Gorsestar.)
(Also, Salmonface did some uh.... stuff and gained bears as her enemy. Oops!)

With how gorsestar just gave in to everything if salmonface tried she totally could have convinced her clan mates to force him to step down as leader. With enough pressure he would have given in. Of course this thought didn’t even cross her mind, probably because of how she was raised, she grew up on the receiving end of hatred and violence it only makes sense that it would be her go to solution for any problem. Sorry for the whole ramble typing things out helps me get my thoughts in order lol. This is an absolutely stunning video, definitely will be watching it over and over for a bit to see every detail.

This is so pretty! I love the color symbolism, and most of the flower symbolism went over my head but its so yummy! This PMV tastes like a chocolate coated strawberry

Your art and character designs are absolutely gorgeous! I like how sometimes the spirit salmon looks kind of like a snake or dragon.
Also you never really see any stories that have enemies who aren't other cats. The bear idea is so cool. Can't imagine how badly she fucked up to piss bears off.
Thank you so much!!!! Yeah, the spirit salmon was a bit of a tricky one to design- I wanted to figure out how to make a literal salmon look scary.... then I remembered: dragons! Lol
And she certainly did an oopsie. A bunch of them (´。＿。｀)
Your storytelling skills have grown so much. That one scene with the salmon snapping its jaws shut was so cool- you made it look monstrous and terrifying, and the representation of Gorsestar as almost glowing with his innocence, power, and goodness was just awesome. Great job Moth, and I can't wait to see what you do next! :D

Animating the salmon really was hard but seems like it was worth it then!!! And yeah, the guy was just a neverending source of too much goodness!

This is gorgeous! I adore the idea of adding visual lyrics when it particularly resonates with the character, or it just seems like they'd actually be saying it. And from reading the description, this was such a good song for the story!
Im very curious as to who Snowstep is, this mysterious cat who seemingly has something against Gorsestar, or at least thinks it would be a benefit to her if Salmonface went through with getting rid of him. Not much more was elaborated on but the environment was pretty ominous so im not sure that Snowstep had the most innocent intentions.
Also Salmon and bears? What a fitting name to oppose a bear! Perhaps not good to be named after their prey, though

Thank you very much!! This thing of adding lyrics only on certain parts is something I saw other warrior cats animators doing quite a while ago and I guess I decided to try it out! And yeah Snowstep.... I have a lot of lore planned for her!
This whole bear thing came when I saw someone make cats face off a bear on a crossover map. At the time I already had Salmonstar's name and I thought how fun it'd be if I were to make her do stuff related to bears!!
Darkpaw is indeed a cute little lykoi :D she's not a guy though! (dw about it! Since I didn't list their pronouns it was really just guesswork lol)
