I remember qualifying on Tank Table Eight in Fort Hunter Liggett, CA back in 2004, and my dad brought my nephews with him to see us that year. My dad was a retired U.S. Navy Chief Steel Worker in the Seabees, who served for 26 years (Vietnam Veteran), and he came out to see his son. The leadership in my unit blessed him with open arms despite my family's impromptu visit. My company commander addressed him as Chief and treated him with the utmost respect. That was one of the fondest memories of my life and I will never forget it. Sadly, my dad passed away in October of 2020. I miss you dad and you will always be my hero.
Thank you for your service sir!

Would you say a piston engine or the turbine is louder?
@@Creeperboy099 tbh, the M1A2 uses a turbine engine, they designed it to make it more silent than the other tanks. So I'd say piston.
@@howtotype1125 Now that I think of it, that makes sense- piston engines rumble more, having more reciprocating/oscillating mass

Me and the boys in the tank during ww3
Then you are probably fricked
@SAexpat PreferToBeElsewhereyou can't expect a theoretical WW3 to be a one sided battle where the only option your enemy has is asimetric guerilla warfer. Having the best traind and equipped conventional caverly in ww1 didn't help the guys who tried to charge machine guns and having the best crewed tanks and ifvs won't help you when you get swarmed by a bunch of expendible drones or get hunted down by the next generation of tank hunting helicopters and planes.
@SAexpat PreferToBeElsewhere my original coment was regarding a presumably joke coment about serving in a conventional crewed tank during WW3. I don't doubt that the US military as a whole is heavily investing into anything and everything that shows promise for the future.
For example, most countries with powerful militaris are seeking to expand the number of their special forces and adding additional specialised training like tunnel and underground warfer since they presume that the battles above ground will just be a cluster fuck of drons because of the advancements we are making rapidly. I doubt that drons will or could compleatly replace humans any time soon but they do have distinct advantages over the conventional units, especially ground units.

Anti tank mines that are hidden are actually the way to take these things down but destroying the tracks that’s the giant flaw of any tank then it’s just a turret with guns and can’t move
That's not taking this thing down though. That's just a mobility kill. As long as it can still fight, it will live on in the long run.

If you guys think Vietnam was bad you have a whole fresh load of shit coming at you in Iran. Hope your soon to president senile dementia patient doesn't go to war with them because they will need to reinstate conscription to make up for the catastrophic losses you will face. Fighting massively entrenched guerrillas in a huge country full of nothing but mountains and narrow passes where they have been preparing for this exact scenario for decades. Loaded with more short and medium range missiles than you can count courtesy of a mass production program. Tanks will be worse than useless, if you saw the latest armenia-azerbaijan war you would know this, getting popped en masse by high altitude missile emplacements and ATGMs. All the armour in the world won't help when a missile hits the roof of your tank square on.
You don't really need the best tank anymore because air superiority is much more important. In a battle field, the one control the sky will destroy all their enemy's tanks easily. After that your average tanks will finish the job.
Lol that only works if you have uncontested air superiority and face no enemy AA equipment

Such an awesome military video. :3
The Russians took over 30 years to completely contend against this MBT platform with their T-14 Armata but even that may not be enough to compete against the M1 Abrams especially the A2 variant if we're gonna talk about how stable its gun is and how experienced and well trained the US tank crews are, it's a no brainer to think that US will come out on top in this one.
Yeah we probably would. But imo I don't think it's worth it we would lose so many soldiers and it would be one of the deadliest wars in history. But I think we'd win.
@@tdogaz4114 It would instantly become a nuclear war. Russia knows that we would roll over them in no time. they would throw every nuke they have at America.
Not even a contender really, since the T-14 is a show tank that they can't actually produce in meaningful numbers.
@@jonathanbaird8109 Yeah the entire fleet of T-14s can't stand up to even a fraction of the US's Abrams.
Abrams m1 is one helluva sexy tank!! Damn.
Enemy doesn't realize that the 120 millimetre gun is an artillery platform oh, that means we can hit you, in your foxholes oh, and take out any armour, at a closer range

Best tank ever built.
No such thing as best in such a vague condition set.
*laughs in leopard 2a7*
Challenger 2 would toast it
ForsakenBatMotivation that’s arguable, while the challenger 2 has better front protection it lacks good ammunition. While the abrams has good frontal, tusk system that makes up for armor, superior maneuverability and much better ammunition
@@luzerino1124 leopard would have no chance against an M1A2 Abrams
Hey, military people. When you make these videos, shoot at something that breaks apart. It's a lot more interesting to watch.

The only thing that can kill an Abrams, is another Abrams xD
+5Oblivion расскажите это арабам от Йемена до Ирака, а то они не знают и жгут их...
Or an anti tank rocket...
Mr Wolfe anti tank rockets don’t worry me. Big IEDs do. The tank will handle the rockets and missiles. Can’t see the IEDs.
We have marine tank's antisubmarine
kcimb I was a Route Clearance platoon sergeant in Ramadi Iraq in 2006/07. The craters from IED's designated as "Tank Killers" was sobering.
Knowing some of the shyte the AIF/ACF buried, just so they could kill US and coalition forces, was fucking scary. We had 3 Soldiers Killed and a 4th with a broken back after a 300 pound was detonated under their vehicle. The vehicle was designed to take a blast but the 300 pounder inverted the V-Shaped hull.
I’d like to see this tank in a ww2 battle scene vs tigers and panzer tanks.
Joe Chiodi the tigers and panzers will win because the m1a1 tank has little armour compared to the panther D 120mm thick front plate
The abrams uses depleted uranium projectiles which would cut through that armor like butter. Those old tanks wouldn’t even be able to get a shot off.
@@rocketpotato8783 *facepalm*

I don't need sleep I need answers
They do it's called an A10 warthog
The tank's inside sounds like a bloody airplane
Turbine powered
Sounds different in real life, microphone picks it up different
drossano huh
Also it should be noted that the turbine engine has a higher pitch than its gasoline counterparts, so the sound is much quieter over distance.
What your hearing is the turret hydraulics and turbine engine sounds, the high pitched sounds are the hydraulic pump working and when you see the turret traverse left and right, the brrrrrrr noise is the turret brake working.
Was it a trans gunner?
Any tank crews at the comment section. I have a question.
Are those metal things air-conditioning. Just asking.
Wasn't when I was in!
The M1A1s have no air conditioning but they M1A2s do. Mainly to keep components from overheating.
thats a quiet turbine lol
They called it "whispering death" during Operation Desert Storm.
So somewhere in America there is a big ass open field where tanks get tested?
Phil_Rock [PHLPPRCK] yep, for army and marines.
Half of the country is a big ass field, so yes
I signed up for this but never got a call
they got mad at you calling stormtroopers clone troopers
The shriek inside the tank can get old real quick.
I wonder if the M1 Abrams can survive through the toughest hurricane or tornado?...it would be cool to take this tank and plow right through a tornado while filming it😎...
MotoMech well considering that there are armored fords that can go through a hurricane it would be able to. And for the tornado prob because of weight it would survive but idk
Oh this thing would most definitely survive a tornado. You figure storm chasers have huge dominator vehicles that can withstand them, so this tank definitely could.
If a simple Centurion tank can survive a nuke (crew members will obviously die because the hatches always blow open)
Yea you can drive trough a tornado.
MotoMech The things weighs 60 tons
What the Abrams tank I can plow through battalion oh, and take out a lot of Tanks and even if I'm hit I can still continue the return fire
Whats the fuel consumption?
$1500 per hour complete price operation
1 gallon per 0.6 miles i think, it holds about 600 gallons i think

You would never be able to put enough armour on the rear or sides to protect yourself from anti tank rounds, nor would you need to. All that matters is that they save the crew from much easier to conceal munitions like mines, IEDs, and RPGs.
But yeah they have around 30 to 20mm if armour

Hooah!
We don’t have them any more it sucks
Listen up 19Ks and or whatever the Marine Corp designates the job. Train your drivers to charge the burm aggressively and stop mere inches from the wall.......way less target obscuration from muzzle blast dust and less of a chance of flashing "0000" during multiple engagements. Just remember Gunners, the computer by default uses the last range..............if you hit at 1400 and got !0000! squeeze the trigger if the target is within 2000M. You will get a kill. Mil sight relation ..........read it, learn it, live it! Also when training new loaders.......you hold the aft cap deflector/loading tray in the upright position as the loader manually lowers the breech and arms the main gun. Once armed, the loading/deflector tray stays in it's proper upright place as this will avoid the "WTF" (First Main Gun} look in your loader's eyes when there's no hole to stuff a round until they put the main gun to safe and the tray drops. As a trainer GNR or TC ....hold onto a center guide , end connector , or similar hefty object and train your Loader to only react after hearing the metal hitting the floor which circumvents the need to react to an ejection failure and the need to clear.
