Just me or is too much made out of who captains and everything surrounding the Ryder cup. Pick the best players and let them battle.

It is. The captain really only needs to get his picks & the player partnerships right. If he does that then he wins. He doesn't need to be a cheerleader.

Zach Johnson left him off last Ryder Cup in place of Thomas and Fowler. Bradley was much more deserving. Be cool to see him being in a player/captain role.
He certainly has a better attitude than Thomas. It's hard to root for J. T. sometimes.
As long as Keegan avoids picking JT, Spieth and Fowler then the US will have a good chance at Bethpage….but no doubt Keegan will be pressured into picking them no matter how sh1te they play and the top LIV players will get ignored - much like Bry58n got ignored last year for the Ryder Cup in Rome despite literally shooting a 58 a week or 2 before the picks…..
JT has actually been playing quite well this season.
And good lord i am tired about people white knighting for LIV. Those dudes took the money and ran. They made their choice knowing full well there would be consequences. If they wanted to keep OWGR points and stuff like that...maybe they shouldn't have joined a joke of a golf league. They can cry into their 100 million dollars

This whole Captain thing is so overblown. Glad for Keegan, nice choice but it doesn't matter. Just pick the best PGA players, don't pick any LIV guys, and field your best squad, not your most popular, (cough cough JT). The rest is media hype.

The Ryder Cup has certainly gone wayward and lost its clout, well before the LIV Golf dilemma
Keegan certainly resents not being picked for the last Ryder Cup team, so he will pick deserving players based on form - not whether they are part of the boys network, or those who are his friends, like loser Zach did....
Ryder Cup has become all about home field advantage. The players on both sides are close enough in ability that HFA means everything. Pro golfers don't have to face the intense, boisterous booing that NFL, NBA, MLB etc players do on a regular basis. They only experience it once every two years for the Ryder Cup. As such, it is a shock to their system and takes them out of their comfort zone. USA will win handily at Bethpage Black, which promises do be an out of control partisan sh*t show....
Keegan Bradley is too young to be a captain. For my opinion, the captain of a team should be a veteran of the pga tour, not a player who has been here since 2008.😊A veteran to me would be aplayer with 20 years experience or more on the pga tour, also experience in Ryder cups and presidents cups. That would be my pick for a captain.❤16 years on tour is not enough to be captain.

@@SawBlade11 Yes. Also major wins would be great also. Keegan has 1 major. If he had 4 majors or more, I would take his captaincy more seriously. 20 years, 4 major wins, my criteria for a Ryder cup captain, also a president cup captain as well.
