Sao is. Isekai, comes from E-sekai, the english letter E for electronic, and sekai meaning other world.
The genre was always about the video game trope.
Sao popularized it. Mushoku tensei had a more fervent cult following before the anime.
But the numbers came from Sao. And it informed the genre as a whole.
Mushoku popularized Truck kun being the portal to the isekai world. I understand and know that. But your claim is just false

Запало просто в душу это аниме, оно самое любимое аниме, несмотря на другие аниме, это самое топовое для меня, оно в топ 1 моих аниме и посмотрев 12-13 аниме я не изменил своё мнение, это моё первое аниме и из-за него я смотреть начал аниме, не смотря даже на ухудшения как многие жаловались в половине 2 сезона, оно остаётся самым лучшим для меня, это аниме всегда будет в моём сердце и когда выйдет продолжение я ещё раз пересмотрю это аниме с самого начала чтобы насладиться вновь этим шедевром, чтобы увидеть то что при первом просмотре глазам может быть не видно! Поистине шедевр как и это видео так и аниме! (продолжение в апреле 2024 года). Я даже Ранобэ немного прочитал и это тоже моё первое Ранобэ, а я человек который не любит читать, но мне настолько понравился этот шедевр что я не мог жить если бы не узнал продолжение :) .

This show put me on Isekai.Yet the rest doesn't come close to this good. It's in a league of it's own. Thank God there's so much source material. 29 light novels by now I believe. The world building.The character building. So fu@$ing good. I grew up on Dragonball. Never thought much about the japanese anime culture. Until this show. Now I respect and have fallen in love with it. I love anime because of this show. Thank you Mushoku Tensei!
