It was a much smoother ride than a pickup truck. I can’t believe how much chrome was on that vehicle and how clean the white walls and hubcaps turned out and a real bumper. In Wisconsin its considered a truck.

Congrats on the new line of products! I am so happy for you all. Your hard work has definitely paid off! Saturday morning car details with my coffee are the best way to start the weekend!
The El Camino is a Malibu station wagon with most of the roof cut off. The rear seat foot well area is still intact. It is covered under the front of the “truck bed” floor which is where you found the spare tire.
@@SlimWhittman nope. The elco frame is significantly longer than the wagon frame, same with the wheelbase. Beautiful "cruck" cross between the two. Great to see the family's reaction to the car being returned as well, they feel the emotion. Thanks for helping them out with this one. Have a great day and safe travels
Love see these humbling videos, generation after generation. And he kept his Grand father’s car to promise himself that he would be very happy to have it as his own and to still honor his grandfather! Love this vid, loved the detail, loved the family. Everything was great, keep it up guys. You always do amazing jobs and amazing moments for people! 👏🏼👍🏼🙏
We are so lucky to get the opportunity to be apart of these moments with such wonderful people, wonderful cars, and wonderful stories. Sincerely, thank you for supporting us and allowing us to chase this dream !
Honest to God above, those were real tears in my eyes. I loved my grandmother and grandfather dearly, and miss them everyday. I strive to create and be apart of moments like these, because I know they are watching from above, and are proud.
Yes, an El Camino is considered a truck, although it's technically a "car-based pickup" as it combines the body style of a car with the utility of a pickup truck, built on a modified car chassis, making it a hybrid vehicle between the two categories; essentially, it's a car that has a pickup bed integrated into its design.
GM/Goodwrench crate 350. Factory was a 305, and it probably crapped the bed, or Gramps needed/wanted more oomph. The mechanicals are pretty straightforward on that thing. Shouldn't take but a local old-school motor head to get that thing running over the course of an afternoon.
Congrats on the procucts ! And to answer your question, the El Camino is both! It's classified as a car-truck hybrid, often referred to as a "utility vehicle." It features a car-like front end and a truck bed, combining elements of both vehicles. Originally produced from 1959 to 1960 and then from 1964 to 1987, it was designed to provide the comfort of a car with the utility of a pickup truck. Oh and the Conquista (meaning 'Conquest' in Spanish) is mainly consisted of a special paint treatment.
I drove, if I recall, an1981 El Camino, from Nova Scotia to Hershey, Pa. for the fall show. It had a 396 in it. Left Nova Scotia and hurricane Juan chased us all the way out of Maine. Had to leave the car in Calais, Maine, for one week for customs purposes, put a Honda 750 in the back. 700 kms to get back to N.S. and bloody cold. I'm 76, no big deal..great video guys. Thank you.
My grandfather had a ‘63 El Camino, 3 on the tree. Antique white with ox blood interior. He gave it to my cousin who sold it. I would give anything to have that back. It was the coolest vehicle I’ve ever ridden in. One day, I will find one & restore it to my memory.
That is what we call a Ute in New Zealand and Australia. Holden and Ford made these in Australia, and they were very popular for Tradies before the standard Rangers and Hiluxs you see today. They are virtually a beefed-up rear spring car chase and front half of the car with a tray. They often come with a canopy to waterproof and secure your gear.
Brings back memories. I bought an 86 El Camino new. Best car I ever owned. I got it with the SS Package but without the decals. Came with a 350 4 barrel carb. 4 speed automatic (3 speed plus over drive), tow package, posi rear end. Air Shocks in the back (1200lb payload). Was a great car/truck. I used it more as a truck. Did a lot of Home depot trips in it. It was on the road for 10 years 250k miles. Started blowing oil and with New England weather, Started roting out. What a excellent job clap👏 hopefully this will give them the motivation to get it back on the road. The g body chevy was my favorite purely because it takes me back to my child hood seeing the yellow cabs on films ect just a nice subtle shape not to over the top
My 1979 Conquista had bed rails, an extremely underpowered 305, and a 350 turbo transmission. It was silver over black and I acquired it in 1981. After it was t-boned it received an aluminum headed .060 over 454, with Pete Jackson gear drive, big cam, headers, modified trans, and still retained the original puny rear end. And FYI, the rear was coil springs
What an incredible video! ❤🎉 This was such a neat video. I'm so happy to see that the El Camino has begun the journey to getting back on the road. Getting the Detailing done by WD Detailing and mechanical input from the guys at CLE P&P will no doubt help Michael and his family get the El Camino going again. May your grandfather Rest in Peace and may his memory live on in the vehicle ❤❤❤
Hey, guys. I’m no expert on the Caminos, but my ‘69 Ford Ranchero is titled as a truck. Not sure why they did that as it is a unibody vehicle. Maybe because they were designed as a “goin’ta town” farm implement. Great stuff you guys do. Always a hoot to watch your banter!
SAVE THE GBODIES!!!! The most diverse platform in the history of cars. Great job on the clean up and kudos to the family working to get this thing back on the road.
The 350 was available in all trims of the El Camino, my grandpa had a bottom of the barrel base model with a 350, was a gorgeous car, burnt orange color I wanna say, loved that car
Heck yeah on the New Cleaning Line 🤛🤛🤛🤛 guys. Can’t wait to try them. All ready signed up for your news letter and created a log in. The El Camino came out absolutely beautiful. I even teared up at the end.
The El Camino Conquista was an exterior package option for the Chevrolet El Camino that included a bright molding package and a special two-toned paint. It highlighted the performance styling of the standard El Camino.
The "CONQUISTA" was specifically a trim package for all El Caminos of this era. The didn't come with bed rails or bucket seats by the factory unless it was a special order. It also presented the special two tone paint scheme. This one is a limited edition, because the Conquista didn't come with bumper guards either and had trim on the body.
Quite a conquest! 😉 Love the El Camino CAR, great product line, best of luck with that new aspect of the business. Oh, and, as always, thanks for the ASMR video.😊

GREAT JOB!!! I love how the EL Camino turned out!!! 😀👾❤
Congrats on the product line launch! The design on the bottles looks sick 🤘🏻
I always look forward to Saturday! 👍
The 350 was available in all trims of the El Camino, my grandpa had a bottom of the barrel base model with a 350, was a gorgeous car, burnt orange color I wanna say, loved that car
Another amazing job, cleaning up that El Camino. You guys are amazing at what you do.
Nice to see how much u bring bk cars for people and u can see how much it means too them , great video lads
@WDDetailing - can the windscreen glass be polished to remove ice scratches?
You can, but it is very difficult and most of the time won’t give you the results you want
@WDDetailing ah that's unfortunate. Thanks for replying.
Beautiful family and legacy !!
Heck yeah on the New Cleaning Line 🤛🤛🤛🤛 guys. Can’t wait to try them. All ready signed up for your news letter and created a log in. The El Camino came out absolutely beautiful. I even teared up at the end.
Beatiful car guys! Congrats for the new line of products! Greetings from Uruguay!
The El Camino Conquista was an exterior package option for the Chevrolet El Camino that included a bright molding package and a special two-toned paint. It highlighted the performance styling of the standard El Camino.
I think you guys should get this running and driving
The "CONQUISTA" was specifically a trim package for all El Caminos of this era.
The didn't come with bed rails or bucket seats by the factory unless it was a special order.
It also presented the special two tone paint scheme.
This one is a limited edition, because the Conquista didn't come with bumper guards either and had trim on the body.
Quite a conquest! 😉
Love the El Camino CAR, great product line, best of luck with that new aspect of the business.
Oh, and, as always, thanks for the ASMR video.😊
I had a White 1984 with a 305. Great cars!
