@@MaxReinhardt71 I'm wondering if the angel will work in a white-blue control deck, as a finisher. White has no draw cards, so it needs another colour with some draw to go longer. I've also seen the angel in an omnath deck as the main win condition. I think without ajani (both the plains walker and the 2-2 cats)the white life gain deck is a lot weaker. Having multiple angels out also multiples the triggers. You could copy the angel with that new rogue... maybe. But a mono white midrange deck just cant handle the meta, and i think white aggro cant either. So mono-white in my view is just unplayable at the moment, at least on high rank.

I put the deck so far on aetherhub. I dont normally play control but i admit so far its been pretty fun.... well then i lost 4 games with it. Got heavily punished by omnath clover. It was against rogues at least.

Still no lithoform engine. I'm telling you...amazing value in a deck like this. It does have a moderately high investment cost, but doubling every other effect in your deck for 2 mana is huge. 2x doom foretold triggers on tbe opponent, 2x elspeth triggers each turn...draw 6 cards from treacherous blessing...exile two creatures with glass casket.. it is just awesome.
@@thenightman9189 No, it is only two mana to double the triggered effect. You don't double the glass casket spell for 4, you double the trigger after it hits the battlefield for 2. ECD is 2 mana for each double trigger as well.
@@thenightman9189 This also allows you to capture one creature with glass casket, then later when Yorion hits, for two mana you grab two creatures instead of just the one it had.
@@thenightman9189 ok? But you only have to cast once for 4, and you get a doubled effect for 2 every turn after that. Because everything in the deck works from triggered effects, you only use the 2 mana ability to double them without needing to draw more cards (as mirrormaid would require).
@@thenightman9189 it doesn't really make a lot of sense to me to add up the various costs over multiple turns. It doesn't mean anything. You untapped each turn. The only question is do you have 2 extra mana available each turn to double a card. This deck tends to go long, so most of the time that answer is yes.
@@thenightman9189 In this hypothetical example, you have used two cards for two glass casket effects. But the engine can be used again in future turns. If it had been two glass caskets, you get no additional value. Now compare two doom fortold to one and an engine. Two triggers each opponent turn, one on your turn vs two on each turn. For a difference of only 2 mana.
I recently figured out this combo with Scute Swarm and any good creature with mutate. Simply mutate the creature over scute swarm, and you will be able to multiply them as fast as with normal scute swarm! At one point I got over 700 Migratory Greathorns on the field with this combo. You should try it out.
I've started using Spare Supplies in my Esper Yorion Doom Fortold deck instead of mazemind tome. It's less efficient in a vacuum, but it draws on ETB like Golden Egg. That makes it a decent target for Yorion bounce. It also works with Dance of the Manse because it can be sacrificed to the graveyard instead of exiled (and draws one when dance returns it).

Hey CGB great video as always. I really like that you are experimenting in a (already) stale meta. One thing I noticed throughout the video but especially in the intro was that it seems like either you are having mic/recording issues which is causing intermittently blown out/clipped audio. Just thought it would be good to mention as you might want to look into that if you weren't already aware.
I am playing a bw doom deck for two weeks now and it is currently my most sucessful deck. I added the broodmoth and the black creature that makes everyone sac a creature. Those are a personal note. Most important however is the addition of agonizing remorse. So many scoops on turn 2 because of the remorse.
What about historic, if are tired of Omnath and Rogues like the rest of us? For what I've played it's pretty diverse, and there's just more options to build crazy stuff around
I'd recommend trying cgb's second channel, he plays historic decks occasionally there. Pretty sure this channel is dedicated to purely standard legal decks.
Today my historic experience was pretty homogenous. Goblins and elves, even in the play cue. I will admit it's usually better, but today my cash cow was standard. Made it to diamond for the first time just before the season ended
Those hands occur cause some guys on reddit did a rip of a million games from ARENA. Basically the system they use to manage card draws, attracts like cards. One guy suspects the table the use to randomize draws basically counts the cards wrong. If you have say 2 of the same card in hand in the opening draw. When the deck randomizes the next draw server side it still things there are 4 copies of the card still in the deck. So you are more likely to draw it. Basically the math of MTG assistant is wrong if this is true. And your are more likely to draw the same card if it was in your opening hand. There was more, but it was like an hour long explanation.
At the first minutes I thought: "CGB brings back another Yorion list. Never saw that and here we go again." In the middle of video true evil CGB appears with that infinite loop of pain for that poor white mage. In the end it was really cool Doom Foretold trick. But even now I can't imagine reason not to run few copies of extinction event or shadow's verdict in 80-card deck
I'd take a malakir rebirth just for the tempo. it's really good on yorion decks because it blinks the creature and fizzles the removal spell, making it a really good 2 for 1 at instant speed.
My favorite part was the mono white deck so happy to not be playing against Omnath, adventures, or rogues that they had no problem watching CGB loop Yorion 20 times when they should’ve gg’d after turn 6.
I got to the prince loop. Kudos to the opponent for letting you pop off. I don’t watch at 2x speed. Despite my preference for red decks Aggro or not I like seeing your gameplay. Systematic control and value lul
Tried this as a UBW deck cause playing without blue hurts my soul, and man the omnath matchup if you even give them the chance to cast is just rough. I can tune the deck more and test it out when I rank up more but it’s actually pretty fun.
I always watch your videos on 2x speed, an hour every day is a lot of time and you articulate very clearly, making it easy to understand you. On the off chance I tune in for your stream you sound very weird coming off of 2x speed though.
I'm def not at your skill level, but I've been enjoying Drannith magistrate against adventure/escape to the wild decks. Lemme know if you end up running it! :)

The issue I have with Dimir rogues is the same I have with mono red and mono white lifegain: it's always the same deck. It got to a point CGB was just able to tell which card would be played when. Standard's really a boring place to be right now.
You cant ever admit the comments get to you. What you need to do is be self deprivating. Honestly during livestreams point out the funny comments about you and laugh about it. It builds repour, and eventually people will crack jokes cause they want your attention, and they will get real creative with it. It sounds weird but you will make friends with these people, and they will super chat, join, or sub. It will build loyal fans, I promise.
it's weird how we keep complaining about Omnath being 100% of the meta yet I don't think CGB has played against Omnath more than once in the last several games
I just wish they had printed a Mind Stone for this set. Green gets approximately one billion mana, it feels impossible to play non-green if you're not hyper aggro. Ramping out Kaervek a turn early could hypothetically answer Cobra and Scute. Please WotC why do you make me play the 4-mana card on turn 4, green's mom lets him play it on turn 2, it's not fair.

Huh... that white deck in the first match was kind of interesting.
I try it often..its realy unstabil...CGB has get the perfekt draw of it there...when you try it in platin up you are at 40% win or less.

Why not blink your tomes when possible for the extra scry or draw at end of turn? assuming you don't need the life
1.5x for me - sounds normal and plays about normal speed. For the angel I believe he gains life for the hit and also gains life for the lifelink

I prefer to occasionally skip 5 or 10 seconds forward instead of doing the 2x thing.
Angel of destiny hit you then gains you life, so it should net you 0 while gaining your opponent life, I'm guessing?

Every day you don't play an Omnath deck and destroy the ladder, Wizards pushes back its ban by one week.

Deck needs sweeps. I main 8-Rack and Doom in the two formats I play and Doom without a sweep is like 8-rack without smallpox.
