Santoor virtuoso Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma is credited with transforming the 100-stringed Santoor, also known as Shatotantra Veena, from its humble origin as an accompanying instrument in the music of the Sufi orders of the Kashmir Valley, to a high-ranking solo instrument in the north-Indian classical music tradition. He increased the melodic range of the Santoor, changed the arrangement and tuning of the strings and modified the playing technique to make it suitable for Indian classical music.
Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma played Raag Hamsadhwani in Dhaka at Bengal Classical Music Festival 2012, and captivated the audience with his legendary mastery and virtuosity. Tabla maestro Pt Yogesh Samsi's brilliant accompaniment added depth to the recital.
    Raag : Raga Antardhwani
    Tabla : Pt Yogesh Samsi

Please rectify the name of the raga in the description. This is Raga Antardhwani, one of Panditji's creations, and not Hamsadhwani. Thanks

Correct!! I tried to recollect raag Hansdhwani based on my quite a long listening experience of Hindustani classical music. I was convinced that this is not raag Hansdhwani.

Plz change the description. Panditji himself announced the raga as Antardhwani. It's not Hansdhwani.

Good music and I'm reluxed if not watching screen where scenes turn so often. Not sure what raga is for but am sure the music is for being reluxed. This clip is mot a set of scenes in an action movie and thus it would be better that cameras sit still and they turn occasionally when needed. I eventually not watching the screeen only with sound. Then what is the visual image for on the clip?

I was going to comment the same thing. It's something I've noticed on other Indian classical channels as well. The editing style is frenetic, and makes it difficult to watch. Gorgeous footage and sound, the editing just needs to chill out a bit...!

THIS IS NOT HANSADHWANI. Not even close to Hansadhwani. This Raag is Pandit Shivkumar Sharma's own creation, Raag ANTARDHWANI.
