I'm french and 70 years old. I heared this at the radio in the early 60's.The songs of the 50's to 70's were wonderful. I hope young people will love 'em.
listen to Rocket 69 by Connie Allen or 60-Minute Man by Billy Ward and his Dominoes, both songs from around that time period, and tell me they aren't about sex.
Our friends and my wife and I used to sing this together. It is a great song about love! Now my friend has passed 😢 and my my wife has passed 😢which makes it that much more meaningful!💜💜💜💜
I'm 20 years and love the old songs and this is just one of my fav. Just done listening to "i started a joke". I've always heard this song when I was young as my father always play this song in the morning. And now I've realized that this is a masterpiece.
I'm 14 and my grandpa and grandma used to sing this and dance together to ♥️, my grandma passed away from lung cancer and he continued to sing it but to me and his final words to me were blurts and quotes of this song, his song, our song 😔♥️
Born in 1960, I was born too late to have known these songs as they were released. but thankfully m mother and especially my father collected the records, both 78's and 45's and by the time I was 10 I was playing them, and loving a lot ot them. Of course I ended up loving Zeppelin, Floyd, and 70's pop etc, but these songs ring back so many wonderful memories of a trouble-free and happy childhood. Can you imagine what these artists would think of the ir music still being appreciated today in a format that was never even dreamed was possible?
I love hearing and reading about the young people of today loving the music of the 60's. My daughter was brought UP listening to this music and she ABSOLUTELY LOVES THIS MUSIC.
Glad your Daughter love this type of music....it has soul, meaning, told a story and the singers actually sung the song. Unlike the CRAP there playing today, what do they call it now days. Oh that's right CRAP and they don't sing the song they speak it and nearly every song has the same beat, doof doof doof. So tell your daughter to keep listening to real music. 😁😁😁😁
"60/70/80s" - You forgot the Fabulous Fifties. The 50s & the Swinging Sixties were the best decades of the second half of the 20th century. The late 70s were memorable for the Disco craze in nightclubs. As for the pop music of the 80s, I think it was rather bland compared to the dynamism, creativity, excitement, hope and optimism of the 1950s and early 60s.
I am 50y.o. and the Class of 90. I want to tell young teens that my high school in Dallas was dominated heavily by the 50s. Kids had clean haircut and hummed oldies. It might coexisted with glamour rock and alternative but oldies was the main stream. 98.7 KLUV ! Probably credited to the movie Back to the Future. I am forever glad I was in that kind of culture.
I love this music so much also😶 Im q7 but everyone thinks im lame for listening to music from 70 years ago lol . I dont mind. I listen to any genre from the 50s. Hey you should kik me :)

ONCE UPON A TIME, I had more than 3000 records in my collection and, mostly from 1950s or early 1960s until my Evil and real MEAN and GREEDY brother stole them and sold for a fraction of what it cost me. My collection boasted about 2000 45s ( singles ) and 1000 33s ( Albums ) including more than 100 albums by Elvis Presley. Today that collection would easily be worth around £25,000 ( Twenty Five Thousand British Pounds ), or about $30,000. Some of the records were very rare, each one worth several Hundred Pounds

I am so obsessed with this era and the Kennedys and so am I. I feel like drinking wine, smoking a cigarette, getting a older white man, wearing pearls and gloves and just dancing in my living room, love that style! What a masterpiece this is. They just don't' write 'em like that anymore.
Such beautiful lyrics of a bygone age! So much better than today
I want a Dreamy Lover ❤
That is for sure. What is considered music today is a bunch of noise
"Dream lover, where are you?... I wanna dream lover, so I don't have to dream alone."
I'm almost 40 and have never had a love in my life. But I still believe I will, so this song is my mantram.
Thats really sad bud
You will find the right person for when it is God's will. My husband is 41 and we just got married.

With a love, oh, so true
And the hand that I can hold
To feel you near as I grow old
'Cause I want (yeah-yeah, yeah)

I want a dream lover
So I don't have to dream alone
Someday, I don't know how
I hope she'll hear my plea
Some way, I don't know how
She'll bring her love to me
Dream lover, until then
I'll go to sleep and dream again
That's the only thing to do
Till all my lover's dreams come true
'Cause I want (yeah-yeah, yeah)
A girl (yeah-yeah, yeah)
To call (yeah-yeah, yeah)
My own (yeah-yeah, yeah)
I want a dream lover
So I don't have to dream alone
Dream lover, until then
I'll go to sleep and dream again
That's the only thing to do
Till all my lover's dreams come true
'Cause I want (yeah-yeah, yeah)

That is a sad fact in deed.
Try being a teen who wants this so bad. I refuse to be one of the others. Relationships mean nothing to the people at my school. It's the world to me.
While it is sad there is nothing we can do about it except not follow on their footsteps and at least try to be a little wholesome
