When it comes to bmw's the b38 is such a well done engine. 1.5 3 cyl with that torque and speed is amazing, of course the weight also carries the numbers but still.
For a 3cil 1,5l motor, it's not slow at all. I drove it 300km this holiday and was positively surprised. I would rather be worried about reliability when put under pressure if someone wanted to push it to the limits on daily basis. This version was not meant to be fast, but it's far from being slow.
Speed limiter is Factory set at 210. Is accessible in m'y mini/settings/Speed Limit ( First Line)

That's extremely fast for such a crap engine - 1.5 noniron sleeves, poor 135hp
