The problem I seem to have is bending the diverging route rail. After bending, it tends to twist the rail. (HOn3 70) The rail at the point end then wants to lift out of the fixture making soldering the throw bar tie more difficult than it should be. Any advice on pre-bending the rail without the twist?

I’m getting ready to start on a staging yard. Do these exact same techniques also work for HOn3 code 70? Or is this more geared to O scale...

The techniques apply for all scales…

I always get a good laugh every time Americans say SODher or SODherRING and not SoLDer / SoLDERing! Nice Video though, thanks :D

You state'I don't know why people tin their PC ties/and rail" it is because every soldering teaching video/live demo say you must tin.All be it it applies to elctronics it does stick in people's mindset. Doc BC good video use a blue or pink background for closeups as lighter blows out the white balance

Why would he also waste time wire brushing the rail with a power tool instead of using a solvent based cleaner such as acetone or denatured alcohol...makes no sense...electronic industries have been using that technique for years to clean parts for soldering...he seems to have good advice but strays away from the most practical approach 🤔

As well, and it may not have been like this at the time of recording, Boomer Diorama had a video where he would put solder on the PC tie and then push the rail down onto the "tinned" tie. He didn't do the rail also though. His method also doesn't use the fixture.

Is there any way to get the rest of the series on RUclips? Watching videos on Facebook is painful.
