A lot of queens these days can easily impress us by showing acrobats and tricks during a performance, but to be able to make us feel goosebumps and things that we can’t explain by just lip syncing their hearts out is something else. Katkat and Bernie are two of the most experienced queens this season, and this battle just proves that experience will always be an edge especially on crucial parts of the competition ✨

I think it was clear that they only planned the Golden Gays episode to be the non-elimination week because if someone got eliminated, the partnered older queen would have felt bad and maybe would blame themselves.
However, through sheer willpower and passion, Katkat and Bernie showed how a LSFYL should be done and it forced the double shantay. You can see the visceral drive that the 2 queens displayed and the room clearly felt it because everyone was in literal tears.

I agree. It just sucks that they have to even out the cast so late in the game. A double elimination to top 4 is on the horizon.
I really didn't think they were going to do another non-elimination episode especially because they did one last week... But that lip sync was amazing.
I love how they showed the other queens in the back crying for Bernie and Katkat, you can really tell how much of an impact these two queens had on the competition and how close the cast has become to one another

I dont mind the double shantay this week because it’s something I was NOT expecting at all. Katkat was called safe and i sobbed thinking theres no way Bernie would be saved. So when Mama Pao shantayed Bernie - I GAGGED (which is now rare these days with Drag Race). Very good episode!

I loved this episode, as near perfect as an episode of Drag Race can get. It had everything, Pangina as a guest judge, Jade robbed of the win because she went over time, OV finally winning, the 2 frontrunners in the bottom, that lipsync. THAT LIPSYNC! The double shanty.
Just 2 episodes left so you'll get your double elimination next week but for now let's just celebrate one of the best episodes ever.
All in all this was a great week for Drag Race with all 3 seasons delivering especially the runways, Pandora's drag king look, Hellena's incredible mermaid look and all 3 trans girls transforming a pride look into something spectacular.

in the philippines at least, it seems that seasoned queens who have been doing drag for a longer time struggle with branding. we saw this with brigiding as well in season 1. younger queens in the age of social media really take the time to curate their brand identity. but decades ago, drag queens in the philippine drag scene didn't have to think about that. they just had to be really good performers to stay booked and busy. that's why i think bernie and katkat fell flat this week, and it broke my heart to watch these two legends lip sync to this powerful song. i was at the live viewing party with bernie and katkat and everyone was in tears watching it all unfold. really hoping they both make it to the end!
also - as much as i love both katkat and bernie, i kinda felt conflicted too about the second non-elimination in a row. but from a reality TV competition standpoint, there was no way they could send one of the two obvious frontrunners home because that'd leave one clear winner based on track record. i could be wrong, but that's just what i'm thinking.

Ms. Jade So deserved to lip sync just for going overtime BUT her commercial was so damn good for her to be put in another lip sync.
On another hand, the commercials of Katkat and Bernie was so underwhelming that they really need to go lipsync.
I love Katkat and Bernie and I was so nervous when they're both asked to lip sync against each other.

A lot of the looks this are pull outs compared from last season that are custom made. also for the stylist THen fire them and hire somebody that has an eye not only for Drag and but also for Drag race .

No, it's jade's fault. It was an impromptu shoot. The production didn't even review the skit.
The director didn't cut miss jade because he didn't know that the remaining scenes are important or not. In any shoot the ending is important because it wraps up the whole story..

The reading challenge is a gaaaggg! 😂 I know it won’t make sense to foreigners because it’s purely Filipino humor that does not work for Western humor. 😂 it’s literally full of Pinoy pop culture like Jade’s outfit, some of the lines they used, the baby shark one, even the style of the challenge which is Fliptop. 😂
As everyone should know, Filipino gay humor is so sarcastic, raunchy, aggressive, and crass. It does not translate well in English or Western humor because if you translate it, it’d come off as offensive. But as offensive as it may sound, it’s not coz we all it’s not to be taken seriously.
I’m glad they didn’t tone it down, whether foreign viewers would like it or not, coz as a Filipino viewer, I was gagging!

True words. As a foreigner viewer I did not “GET” the reads, nor did I laugh at Miss Jade’s commercial. I was wide eyed shocked and thought it very 1st grade raunchy childish. I was embarrassed for her. But that’s the western in me, I guess. 🤷🏼♀️

Bernie and Katkat lipsynced for the lives… Bernie saved herself because of that lipsync, it was her ‘last chance to save herself from elimination’ and she did - they both did and gave us one of the best LFYL of the entire Drag Race franchise. Double shantay was warranted this time (biases aside) 👍

honestly it was just messed up that they let Jade continue to shoot past her time limit?? like YOU are the production company, cut her off and let her figure out how to piece together the scenes she shot. It's a competition, if the other queens didn't need it, why does she? Arizona's prize was literally 5 extra minutes so they were well aware how important time was.

It was fair enough for Katkat and Bernie to be in the bottom, their brand didn’t transcend. Jade did a great job but she went overtime, but the production at fault at this. They gave rules and still let jade to continue shooting her scene.
The production shouldn’t include the remaining two scene because in my opinion it will still be sickening tho.
OV did a great job on that. Hanna and Arizona did a good job. We understand and know their branding.
Overall, it was a tough lyfyl but all worth it.

It’s not the production’s responsibility to time her, that’s the contestants job, especially when it goes to the editing room, the queens say what parts stay and what parts get the cut cut. So that’s all on Miss Jade.
I feel really bad for jade, if the time limit is done and they didn’t stop her right then and there and ppl are saying time limit is time limit yet they did not stop her, This already happend to her on the acting challenge on the stage the judges are saying they didn’t understand her yet her critiques on the filiming was “its ok” “it was alright” like gurl?? I am in LOVE with Pangina. She is my favorite Ru Paul Queen. My FAVORITE. So for her to be a guest judge was all my dreams come true. She is intelligent, a freaking KICK ASS lip sync’r, and an amazing dancer.
I have to add, because whenever I post about her I mention this, she does a move called a vertical drop split, which is not only crazy hard for anyone, but incredibly dangerous for a woman with boy-parts. When dropping from a standing vertical split to a forward facing split, the crotch takes the brunt of the force. She not only does it with perfection, but she does it in 6” spike heels. This drag queen can freaking dance. Watch her Telephone by Lady Gaga lip sync on a Thai lip sync battle show. It was perfection. The whole performance.
ANYWAYS…… I was in heaven watching this episode. She’s my drag queen idol. And my 2 front runners had to lip sync battle against each other!!?? NOO! I’m so glad neither went home. Very moving performance by 2 trans persons.
They are both lovely and deserved to stay.
Can someone please talk to the host about her lip stick sweep on the end corners? Yikes. She’s so gorgeous, but that lipstick sweep reminds me of the old ladies in Las Vegas. Not a good look for a young pretty queen.

I know im gonna get hate for thisss but imo this week a double shantay was deserved but last week even though I loooooove the golden gays I felt like there were a clear top 3 looks (Bernie, OV and Hana) and a clear bottom 3 looks (Katkat, Arizona and Jade).. and that someone could have been eliminated. And in this scenario it probably would have been Jade So (Even though I love her)

Gang, I keep reading that everyone thinks production should have cut Miss Jade short at her time limit……
No. That’s not how this works. The contestant is the PRODUCER and responsible for every part of the commercial, in it’s ENTIRETY. They aren’t being monitored on any of it, good bad or anything. They, as the star, ARE ALSO THE PRODUCERS and responsible for all facets of the final product, time included. No one is babysitting them. Whatever they finally sign off on, is the Final Cut.
So if the Final Cut doesn’t meet all the requirements, that’s on them. Not production.
Next week will be a double elimination, because in the teaser they will just get the top 4

Maybe the reason why Miss Jade didn't end up lipsyncing was because both her runway look and her commercial were still really good (despite the overtime) compared to Katkat's runway and commercial. Also, judging by the maxi challenge alone, it was really obvious who would end up lypsyncing.

Perhaps it's the language barrier and there's no way to fully translate what everyone is trying to say with the subtitles, but Jade's commercial was the BEST in that challenge. These commercials are funny (or not) in a way that only Filipinos with fully understand with all the references and other shenanigans in it. Bernie's and Katkat's commercials were basically unfunny. It was a mess from the start and I don't think even a few more minutes would've helped them. And sometimes I don't understand how strict these rules can be anyway since remember when Sherry Pie had a 16 minute show when they were only supposed to have 5 minutes and yet she got no punishment for it whatsoever, they all basically just laughed it off.

That Lipsync was deserving of a double shantay. It definitely is one of the better ones in the whole franchise. Bernie and Katkat ate it up. I dont think that they saved both because they are frontrunner, its just that lipsync saved them both. This save should not be detrimental to whomever of the two eventually wins the competition.

I love that OV won, much deserved, finally. I love that both bernie and katkat stayed. But I think Jade So should've went home this episode. While her commercial is crazy good, her runway is not that much without the message to be honest. Like Arizona's gown witj a cape, hers is just a bodysuit with back rainbow costume. Philippines is not the usual American Reality TV. If you look at their stats, they're not favoring anyone. You can win this episode and you can go home next. You can be bottom 2 and win next ep. They judge based on their performance, not on "production".

I don't think we prolly blame Jade for being overtime cause the production team has the last say. In this case, the prod team allowed her to continue the remaining 2 scenes. They could've just stopped the prod and just used whatever was recorded within the time limit and let the judges decide whether its still a good material or not.
They only have confirmed 10 episodes and only 4 will be on the finals.

First off, as much as I love my girl Jade, she should have been in the bottom for going over the time limit, or else what’s the point of the time limit in the first place. Production shouldn't have allowed her to go beyond the time limit, like with the rest of the girls. There definitely should be a double elimination next week to make up for the two back-to-back non-elimination episodes. Having said that, I'm not mad that both KatKat and Bernie stayed because they were doing so good throughout the competition. And I can totally see a Bernie-KatKat finale.
