    My favourites are the pictures of the red car looks iconic. The Metropolis did a good job and matched well to the motives.❤

    The color palette of Metropolis (at 250 ISO only?) fits the subjects very well -- and even with subdued tones, there is a bright 'punchiness' even in the few overcast shots. And that old camera catches great sharpness across the frame! Now I need to go looking to see if I have any Metropolis left over in my freezer!!! Cheers Dave!

    The pay phone @ 1:52 is my favorite - but then I have a thing for pay phones. They are hard to find so I guess that's what makes them special to me. Nice set.

    Wow, gritty and grainy and I love it! Thanks for sharing this Dave, from the special films Lomography made (Metropolis, Turquoise and Purple) I only shot Lomo Purple so it's very interesting to see what the other film stocks can do.

    Nice. If they had been square format I would have guessed it was drugstore film shot in an Instamatic in the early 70s (apart from the sharpness of the shots that you wouldn't get with an Instamatic). Nice retro vibe. Keith

    Reminds me of a bleach bypass processed film. This film is not for every scene but it can be very effective in some situations.

      I definitely agree about the bleach bypass look, fun for certain scenes.

    I actually really love Metropolis, I should shoot it more. I've found that not every lab interprets it super well though, and then you get mad people saying the film sucks lol. Your scans look great!!

      I dig Metropolis too. This was scanned by a local lab.

    Thanks for the video, Dave. Great photos - love the compositions, but I have to be honest and say that seeing how Metropolis renders colors, it'll never see the inside of one of my cameras. It does render a "vintage" feel, but I feel it destroys the greens and blues and how it over bakes the reds to almost a maroon does nothing for me.

    • @theoldcameraguy
      @theoldcameraguy  2 месяца назад +2

      It’s definitely not for everyone, but I dig it.

    I like the photos with the reds in it. They seem to pop. The other ones look desaturated but they all seem to have grain. I know you mentioned in a video you like the desaturated look. I have 2 rolls yet to use but bought them because the reviews said it had saturation.

      Reds definitely pop with this film, while the other colors tend to be more muted.

    It's an interesting colour profile of this film. As you said it definitely accentuates the reds but I do like the muted tones in the images at 1:58 2:03 and 2:11 which really add some grit to the images. Apologies for being MIA from your last few videos.

    I've got a role of Metropolis lined for my next city photo shoot but this time in pouring rain, I'm after a grimy downbeat look. 😂
    Rating it at iso 250 in sunny or overcast weather is once again a winner the reds really zing and bring out great tones in the stonework, Lomography should sponsor your videos you never fail to get great results from their interesting films.

    You shot this film on 250 ISO. Fo you recommend this adjustment gor metropolis? Did you tested the film at 100, 200 or 400 ISO?

    • @theoldcameraguy
      @theoldcameraguy  2 месяца назад +2

      I have shot this stock at 250 and 320 and liked both results. I shot it at 250 this time because I think my Minolta AF-C slightly underexposes. I shoot it at 320 in my Canon EOS cameras.
