I know this is an old video but you literally had the very video I needed to show me the correct way to remove the top rear trim around the rear window. Thanks mate 🙏🏻😊
Thank you very much indeed. I managed to remove the tailgate door trim and replace the broken boot lock on my VW Sharan in about 25 minutes. Your video was very clear and the fix was pretty straightforward as you indicated. The VW dealership quoted 2 hours of labour + parts. An independent garage said it needed 3 days to diagnose and fix!
Fantastic as usual! Clear, concise, and educational. Thanks once again. Much appreciated. Will try this on the weekend to check my number plate wiring, one of the wires in my number plate lights does not have enough slack. Top man.
Thank you very much for this helpfully Video! I just did it the same war, because I needed to change the lock of the tail door! It was so easy! Thanks a lot!
Thank you very informative. I wish I had found your useful video sooner. Unfortunately replacing my Scirocco boot lock I forced the panels off in reverse order and did some damage to them. No short cuts!
Vw scirocco the same system of 4 panels shapes. Important to start with the small single top of window panel and then the reverse to replace them Need to take them all off to replace trunk/boot, latch.
I wasn't using my Sharan for about a year, so I had to sell it. There's a good website from the manufacturer with well organised PDF manuals. It's not free, but for 7 euros per hour, you can download all you need: erwin.volkswagen.de/erwin/showHome.do
Thank you very much! This helped me in the process for removing the panels on the lift gate on my GTI. Needed to do this to fix the rear trunk lid latch.
Thank you for this amazing guide video, i see you have non electric opening, mine is electric, do you think i will need more coding, or do i need to go to the service for config afterwards?or i just plug in the new tailgates and it will work?
Hi, very good and informing video! Can you tell me where is the sensor for the light in the trunk? Sometimes when I open the trunk door, lights dont lit. After 1 or few minutes of trunk door open the lights would turn on. Thanks alot.
@@wawayltd I think its the switch in the lock. When the light is not ON also the BC shows that the doow is closed although is ooen. So I think that the lock should be taken out and some contact cleaner should be used on the switch inside the lock. Maybe this would fix the problem.
i have same car but with electric tailgate. some weeks ago, i dont know how but it started to not work. the car is showing like the tailgate is open, even if i close it by hand. when i press the button on tailagte to open it, it comes a click click sound but its not opening. and if i open it manualy, ( the hidden arm inside the cover,) then the lock loses it. and after that if i press the button to open it, then the electircal dempers are pushing the tailgate to open. so it sounds like the main issue is the lock itself. but the brake lights on tailgate are also not working. i checked fuses and so on but couldnt find the problem yet. you have any idea?
@@wawayltd I read some about it after commenting here. havent checked yet but its kind of common problem which occurs by earth wire from car to the tailgate. i am gonna check it out today ;)
But the panel is diffenet in different models made by VW. I have a VW Touran 2011, I have to remove the big panel first only, there is no need to remove those three small panels.
Thanks for all your videos they are extremely helpful. I've got the same car as you (or you had) the Sharan 7N 2013 model, today I noticed some drips and then a torrent of water came out when I pulled the trim panel back coming from the very rear seat belt (3rd row of seats) holder right at the back of the car dripping into the boot. I have deduced that the water is actually coming from within the tailgate and not door seals as the water was running through the electrical rubber housing (running from tailgate to the car for lights etc) and then down into the car, so somewhere in the tailgate itself is leaking. Have you heard of this before? The water was clear and clean so either rain water (which we've had a lot of lately or from where car is hosed after washing. I'm leaning towards the possibility it may be the third brake light that may be at fault, either leaking from the seal or even the washer pipe?? I've watched this video but can't quite see where or how to remove the third brake light. I don't want to let this problem linger as water inside a car is not good especially around the electrics any suggestions. Thanks again.
VW officially has recalls on these models regarding tailgate door. Whether that's hinges or something else. I know my car is entitled, so must be yours. I didn't do it yet, because I want to do it all at once together with that emissions scam. Maybe ask you local dealership if your car is entitled to that re-call repair, maybe it somehow related to your problem?
Thanks for your reply VW saying no recalls for my car. I did put my blower fan on full and shut all the doors and there was a whistling sound coming around the 3rd brake light so presume seal has gone around that and have ordered a new one from the dealer (£66 Inc vat) so hoping this will sort it out. Not tried pulling old one out yet till I get replacement.
If you are going to do that or any other DIY on your car - I can recommend to get Elsawin - workshop manuals for VAG. It costs peanuts on eBay, but helps a lot with things like that instead of trying to figure out yourself how the hell to take it out. I wanted my website to become collection of manuals for different cars, but still haven't figured out how to do it, or get other people involved in it.. never mind :) I hope new seal will solve the problem.
Any idea how to remove centre console? I need to rewire one of my parking brake motors right back to the ECU. Thanks for any advice. I got so far but failed to disconnect it still the front near the lower dash.
I can recommend good workshop manual with lots of info on anything for VAGs. Have a look for Elsawin on eBay. I got it myself, but don't have time at the moment to look in there. Not quite sure what I'm looking for either :)
Thanks I just remembered I have that as I bought it for mu old Galaxy before the Sharan its just in date too best wishes and thanks for the swift reply

Well done 😎👍

Hi there, thanks for the video. do I need to remove the smaller side strips before the large pieces can I go straight for the large piece? thanks
I don't think so, they are overlapping each other.
Thank you for the amazing video. I saved loads by doing it myself 🙏
Thanks for this Video!❤

Thanks - I managed to push a tailgate dent out most of the way. Not perfect but neither is my wife's driving

How difficult is it to remove and replace the whole boot once you take the trims all off?
Sorry Ahmed, I don't know, as I haven't done it.
Any video on how to replace the (N/S second row) Rear passenger seat belt?

Dealership, TPS, Internet.
