The shortest answer I can give (lol) is that I actually don't wear makeup very often (only on special occasions), but I grew up in a household where animal products were a large part of our diet & one of my family members actually worked for a biopharmaceutical company (which tests their products on animals). It wasn't until I moved out of my parents' house & met my husband that I started to become more mindful of being healthy, eating a more plant-based diet & taking a more holistic and cruelty free approach to beauty/skincare. It's something that I've been struggling with for the past year or so, but eventually I would like to only use cruelty free everything! It's been a process (and it involves a lot of research), but I feel like I get closer and closer everyday. My skincare routine is completely cruelty-free (the brand is OSEA), but I think my mascara (which is L'oréal) and some of my lipsticks (Sephora Collection) are not.
