I heard Central America got dangerous because it is sandwiched between Mexico and Colombia, the main suppliers of illegal drugs that come to North America. Surprisingly, southern part of Central America from Panama to Nicaragua seems safe. It is only Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras that don't get the clean reputation.

@@Lettuce-and-Tomatoes You do not have to be born in El Salvador to be Salvadoran first of all that's stupid. She either has Salvadoran parents which makes her Salvadoran or she was born in the country. Then when she got to Canada or if she was born there she became a Canadian resident. Also, you're wrong Salvadorans aren't the only ones crossing the borders and disrespecting the laws. This isn't even your country because you're on stolen land therefore no one owns anything or owes anything to anyone coming into this country, and El Salvadoran isn't a term to refer to people in because El Salvador is a country. Why are you asking her such stupid questions? Go on twitter and get your answers. You're illegal too and so is your family because again this isn't your country its the native Americans. Actually, those Immigrants you're speaking of have a better life when they come to the United States than you white folks do and that's why you're all mad because all they do is work hard for their stuff. They take better care of themselves and their kids. How are you going to speak on other people? When you're not part of them? You sound very idiotic. You act like Americans aren't out here in the streets without jobs and a large amount of children that they can't provide for.

Hello!!! I am half Guatemalan/half Costa Rican and back in DEC 2020, my dad and I traveled to Guate and took a road trip to Esquipulas. On our way back, we didn't go through the usual route through Jutiapa, Guatemala, instead we detoured through El Salvador. We entered through Metapan, drove down to visit Santa Ana (GORGEOUS TOWN), Ahuachapan, Sonsonate, stopped in Acajutla (Coastal town with beautiful beach and cliffs) where we had an AMAZING seafood lunch and drove west to the boarder and entered Guate through Ciudad Pedro de Alvarado.
WOW!!! What an amazing road trip. El Salvador was beautiful and peaceful. What struck me the most was the lack of liquor advertisements. Where as in Guatemala, all you see is GALLO ads but there was NOTHING in El Salvador. I don't recall seeing trash on the roads at all either. I was really impressed. I would go back anytime.

but taking $$ from your bank to go on a relaxing vacation, then spending that $$ in the number 2 murder capital in the WORLD, sounds like a death wish. tourist crime and murder is low there because the number of tourists is extremely low. that’s great until you’re that one tourist being robbed & threatened & scarred for life with that horrible memory - assuming that you survive. no thanx! 👀

I'm an American, retired and living here in El Salvador. I moved here in early 2017, and like it says in the video, its hot here most of the time. Actually, I've noticed it has two rainy seasons here, late spring or early summer and again in the fall. Temps are cooler during those months. In the five years I have been living here, I have not witnessed any violence. That's not to say it doesn't occur here, its just usually happening only in the bad sections of the cities. Like the video says, stay away from the bad parts of town and you'll be fine. I have no plans to move back to the U.S. I hate cold weather and having to shovel snow from my driveway! Why El Salvador you may ask? Well, I met someone special back in the states who was from here, so we ended up moving here. My previous wife was from Honduras, a neighboring country, so I was quite used to the laid back lifestyle of Central America.

Thank you so much guys for your amazing video, very educational and fun to see that you visiting all those places and just enjoying the culture, people and food. Is not too bad as media propaganda said, is a very decent country over all. If you think how much violence is in USA and all around the world El Salvador feels very safe is just doesn’t have luxury things, you will not see people living with AC, microwaves etc is very basic and rustic but pretty and green at the same time the simplicity of life and people still be happy and so healthy also that can be a good experience for tourist because is like back in the time 1900 time mixed with some modern things. You see house so old and also made it with mud that in USA there are historical places like that as museum so people can go and admire how the construction it used to be in the civil war and utensils .. I went one of those places i didn’t know and I thought what are we doing here?.. is museum of how people lived in the civil war…a little town with houses very conserved little tiny house builded with mud and people love so much to see that ..I was waited a minute this is not a museum this is just like El Salvador 😅😅😅I can take you there and see the houses..

I spent a summer in El Salvador and I didn't feel unsafe. Any travel comes with risks and anywhere can be dangerous. LA, London, NYC, they can all be dangerous.

As of 2023, El Salvador has lower homicide rates than USA and even Canada. El Salvador is entering a golden age. 10% economic growth from 2021 to 2022. What a BIG surprise!

Great info friend! It’s even safer now, a year later. Bukele has really cleaned up. Tons of potential for a tiny country. Watch out Singapore!

El Salvador is a freedom loving country and that's a good thing. Most of El Salvador is safe but the places that are unsafe really are unsafe. Most people are civilized.

I was out there right before they shut the border last year. Such an amazing place!!! Itching to go back. Driving out there wasn't too bad; just got to be patient with traffic in San Salvador. The people are so nice!
