    I did some practice FRQs and the probability FRQs from recent years are so much harder than the older years, I’m hoping they tone it down this year and just give us a table to work with 😭😭
    EDIT: THEY GAVE US A TABLE but I’m pretty sure I got a 3/4 for that FRQ because I messed up on one part lol.

    The probability of 2 goals in 5 games you messed up a few times by putting .18 for 1 goal scored instead of .34 and you made a calculator typo. Good video overall. Got me well prepared for my test.

    could 5 goals in game 1 and 0 goals in game 2 and vice versa be another possible combination in the problem that you were doing at 23:14?

    • @derrickhuang1044
      @derrickhuang1044 8 месяцев назад

      yes but they don't provide 5 goals as an option so u can't do that. also did he make a mistake cause shouldn't it be (0.34 * 0.02) instead of 0.18 * 0.02 for 1 and 4 goals?

    Good very goood …yet again when do we use which ? Random variables ?numerical variables, numerical values ???
    Perhaps a slowing down of the delivey of the punch line might help as opposed to increasing speed of delivery of the punch line.

    is 22:33 a mistake? for 1 goal you wrote 0.18 which is the probability for 0 goals.

    at 39:04 would you not divide the ice cream's variance by 10 instead of multiplying it?

    • @mporinchak
      @mporinchak  Год назад

      You would divide if looking for the mean of a sample of 10, but here we are looking for the TOTAL weight of 10.

    Hello! btw for the discrete random variable example the one involving the 2 games the probability of scoring one goal is 0.34 not 0.18 also on ur calc u wrote 0.111 not 0.11 for the last one. Just wanted to points these things out, overall phenomenal video!

    • @mporinchak
      @mporinchak  8 месяцев назад +1

      You are correct on both. I did type 0.111 even when I said to check my work!!! And yes, in the first and second scenario of scouring 5 goals I used the probability if zero goals instead of 1 goal. My bad, need to fix. Thanks for pointing out!!!

    Can someone explain how he got .05 on 38:44 ?

    • @mporinchak
      @mporinchak  Год назад

      prior to that problem there is a problem about individual ice cream containers each with a mean weight of 16 oz and a standard deviation of 0.05 oz. That is where the 0.05 comes from. There are 10 individual ice creams in each crate so for the total standard deviation we have to take the variance 0.05^2 for each individual ice cream multiplied by 10 and add the variance for the crate, 0.08^2.

    The second example problem of the geometric probabilities does not make sense to me

    • @mporinchak
      @mporinchak  Год назад +1

      That one can be a bit tricky! The idea is if we want the first success to be any time after the 3rd throw, it means the first 3 throws must ALL be failures. When is the first success then?? It doesn't matter as long as the first three all fail. That's the idea!
