Honestly, play these Delta monologues before school on the P.A. systems across America. Also in the public transportation hubs. Public access, more like public service! I love the peak 80s prime time soap orchestration of the theme song and the new set. Luxx is very Delta, this whole episode was perfection.

I love using Gen Z slang like "it's giving" and "bussin" with my students. It's hilarious to watch them groan and roll their eyes. I'll also start using a slang if I want it to stop. As soon as I started saying "bet," they stopped lol.

I don't care about the negative opinions of the "fandom" during Drag Race, Luxx is extremely wise for her age and she IS going places. This is someone with superstar energy about her, you just feel it. She is very confident with how she wants to be and feel, and we should be proud as a community that someone so young is already so wise in their words and the way they live life. Luxx is showing her youth. Laganja did not come up with "Okurr". I think she is well studied in her drag and fashion, but young and inexperienced. The generation that grew up on drag race sees things from a different angle. I can see Luxx being a bigger force to be reckoned with in the next 5-10 years.

Okay so liiiike… as usual, Delta is absolutely correct with her takes on these terms like “vibes,” “giving” and “realness.” Specifically, “realness” is the one that gets WAY overused on Drag Race in particular. You’ll have girls coming out in literal hot pink Judy Jetson alien hooker drag with an outfit that might *resemble* something like the silhouette of a 60s stewardess uniform, and the queen will go, “Tonight I’m serving *flight attendant realness* in this crazy bedazzled hot neon pink creation with massive puffer sleeves, custom LED lighting threaded throughout the look, and 6” pleaser heels to top it off!”
I mean like… girl. That ain’t realness. The term “realness” was borne out of the ballroom scene, for categories such as “construction worker,” “office manager,” “day trader,” etc.
It was a way for members of the queer community to show off how well they can “blend in” to “normal” or “regular” society, and was characterized by very strict adherence to traditional wardrobe for those roles. It was kind of a way to buck against society and be subversive, and it’s a term that should only be applied to these specific types of looks, and certainly never an over-the-top, full on drag look. Drives me batty! 😅

48:57 - about the peas: I'm chicana and i know some ppl put peas in picadillo, but I never had it that way; we ate it with the ground beef, potatoes, jalapeños, onions, tomato and seasonings. I didn't grow up eating peas in many home recipes even though I love peas lol
Side note about the picadillo: my boss is from Nayarit and she likes to put raisins in it which ive never heard of before!!

I agreed with the Go Off Delta segment except the "I love a good so-and-so" thing lol. My family, being from the south, says that all the time, but only with foods that you really enjoy, not anything that's just okay or something you'd accept. An example is if my favorite food is chicken pasta, I'd say "I love a good chicken pasta", whereas a pizza, which I'm okay with, I'd just say I like Pizza 😭
