Oooo, I've been planning an Aziraphale/Crowley cosplay for a while and this gives me several great ideas and a base for their wings! I love watching time lapses. My only question is about the base, I see that it's foam covered in warbla (right?) with velcro (industrial strength I'm thinking) but how did u attach the wings to the cosplay its self? A harness of some kind?
Glad it helps ❤️ You're right so far, and it's good velcro but not industrial actually. The bigger and heavier the wings, the stronger the attachment needs to be. In this case, they are so lightweight, the attachment plate alone, without an additional harnish or so on can be sewn to the back of the costume without dropping it physically
I remember when i was in 4th grade we had a cosplay show in which i was there, I WAS THE YOUNGEST, i needed to wear wings and my wings WERE THE HEAVIEST... I wish you could've posted this sooner like... 2011

Thank you so much!! Glad you like it! Actually... with.................strength.......!? I never thought about heatbending before and watch rarely tutorials from others so... stupid me I guess XD. Next time I will try that lol !
Ah! But these aren't normal PVC pipes =) These have a aluminium 'inlay' so they are more flexible than a simple pvc plastic pipe! Still it's ahrd to bend them but they don't break easily. XD
I think the best part about these wings it that because there is very little framework and hard material, you're less liking to hit someone with them, and bumping into something won't immediately break them.
Thank you so much! I'm glad it helps! There are many possibilities to build wings so any inspiration is helpful, I guess ♥ I'll make sure to continue in video making :)

SEME Cosply are you or have you become aware that you can bond that sort of foam to itself with a heat gun? You can heat it and stick it together just like Worbla. Works just like a glue gun but with a heat gun. You got to be careful though, it is thin sheeting.

As you press down in the center if your table to bend the tube the realize "that's a great idea" then move it to the floor. Then you use a heat gun directly on your table? Just waiting for it to shatter on front of your face. Also don't mind the exacto knife on the leather sofa. Please have a seat, I insist.
Yeah I worked with many hardtools on/near this table for more than 10 years and it's nearly untouched and still stable! You can also stay right in the middle of the table without any risks, I guess we just have an extreme high quality glass plate here! :) (Having workshops now though so it's not important anymore, still thank you for worrying!)

Wear it, go to the dark woods and add the wings to glow and whenever you see lost people in the woods act like you enjoy the night, see the lost person and make them safe
I built them as soft and flexible as possible! :) I also build much more stable and detailed wings, what wasn't requested here (and such wings cost a lot more and are heavier so the attachment is different and more complicated)
@@seme your vary talented. no doubt i was more thinking of when walking how they may bend back in the center to much and the tips as well. more give a small oval in the center on the bottom of the pvc is what i was thinking of. XD was not trying to complain :3
Hello! I recently purchased your pattern and cannot find these aluminum tubes for the base and I was wondering where you purchased them and the more technical term for them? I looked up aluminum PVC pipes or bendable pvc and got nowhere lmao
Hi! Actually I didn't know it at that time but the best solution are actual regular PVC pipes. You can shape them carefully when heated-up (wear a respiratory mask) and when they cool down they will harden again and stay in shape! :)
I have never done a cosplay bigger than a wig and what i could find online and around the house. (i did Harley Quinn, a unicorn girl type of thing and Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter) Do you have any tips or tricks for beginning with cosplay? -Anouk (the Netherlands)
Actually these days there are tons of tutorials out there in the internet. =) ♥ These can help beginners a lot! Some materials are hard to get in some countries and you need a lot of tools to handle them, so it really depends on the designs and the budget. I'm sure there are also 'how to begin with cosplay'-videos on YT, so watch out for them ♥?
This is probably the easiest tutorial I've seen.. How much did it cost? I'm planning on making a hawks cosplay and I desperately needed to know how to make wings :)
Hey I’m so interested in this and I really want to make it for my next performance. Can I ask you that what’s is the brown rectangle things? I see in the description that it’s Worbla. I’m not sure if I have it in my country, are there any replacements? It’s just a hard thing to keep the wings straight?
Hey! :) It's a thermoplastic material, it's soft and moldable when heated up and sturdy and hard when it cooled down again. Also it keeps its shape afterwards. The thicker the layers, the more sturdy the result. You can actually replace this with different materials/techniques, it just worked best for me since it comes in very handy. If you search for 'Worbla Finest Art', you should find many shops that ship worldwide who sell it.
I have absolutely no cosplays planned that require this kind of wing but I’ve watched this video like three times???
Ahhh I'm glad to hear that u//v//u !! Thank you ? XD

maybe a little white board or cardboard in the center for wing structure from making them look too floppy but over all perfect
XD was not trying to complain :3
can you get the plastic foil in colors or paint it?
You can use many different kinds of this foil, it's no specific one! And yes, you can paint most plastic foils.
Do you think airbrush would take to them for details?
Yes, today that would be choice definitely!
@@seme Okay! I'll do that for sure! Thanks a lot! ❤ -Anouk
i literally dont cosplay but it looks cool af
Thank you so much!! =))
Do you think a large gauge wire would suffice instead of the pvc?
It needs to be super sturdy, so no wobbling material, other than that everything works 👌
SQUEEE!!!! NOW I CAN ADD ANGEL WINGS TO MY LADY IRENE COSPLAY!!!!! THIS WAS SUPER HELPFUL THANKS!!!(≧▽≦)
Ahhh so happy it helped!

Thanks!!!!💜💜💜 I have a a skintone similar to Aphmaus and Dark brown hair!
This is probably the easiest tutorial I've seen.. How much did it cost? I'm planning on making a hawks cosplay and I desperately needed to know how to make wings :)
For this I spent overall 20-30$ USD =) And thank you!
my first and last cosplay was a fail, this popping up on my rec is a sign i should stop being a coward and just spread my wings
this wasn't meant to be a pun but I'm glad it is
YES IT WAS! Follow this sign
SMH I need that, yes I cosplay
Then go for it!
Hey! I’m a new cosplayer can you maybe do a specific tutorial to make wings
Sadly I haven't the time for that :( But I try to record many projects in the future more detailed, I guess wings as well!
You are very creative on your materials and probably cost less than $5!
You can put a lot of unusual things to use, yes. Thank you a lot! =)
