Trees are great but we actually need to stop adding more fossil carbon to the atmosphere ...

I love how arborists are always saying that trees are the lungs of the earth when in fact the oceans produce slightly more breathable oxygen than trees.
The biggest threat really is ocean acidification which rarely gets the attention it needs.
Trees are good no doubt and our practices need to change but there is more to it.

Thanks Gary 4 teaching us 2 appreciate our living ecosystem by caring 4 the wild things growing rite nearby. Statement about trees "Short pathetic lives" hit this Dendrologist since most now start slowly suffering at 15 and die by 30!. Over last 20 yrs municipality & park dist's dropped their tree trained staff and handed care off 2 contracted tree "removal only" services. Landscapers who weed whacked trunks now instead over mulch 2 death. 1's who didn't save ash don't even water new tree. DOH!

People are all about saving the rain forest, yet they let their native Ash tree growing outside their back door succumb to the Emerald Ash Borer when it can be so easily saved. Now that we definitely know that the American Fraxinus Ash trees will become extinct in the wild 12 years after the Borers first discovery to an area, we also know that the EAB's population will crash from glutinously killing off it's only food source. This means insecticide use will NOT be needed for the life of tree!
