Hot majorettes, Smokey the hound, the Pride of the Southland Marching Band, Orange & White shakers, Rocky Top, Running through the T. What more do you want?
This video is even older than my youtube account, it was one of the first videos I watched on youtube back in 2006. Talk about some nostalgia! Still pulling for the Vols 18 years later!
The best thing about the Cal game was after Tennessee's touchdown and you could literally feel the entire stadium's excitement and relief after everybody's nerves were shot coming into this game after the previous year. Let's just hope we can go into Berkley this year and do the same thing.
NOthing in the nation like the pregame at Neyland, inside AND outside the stadium. On campus, and all around the dang region. Hell, even here in my CT backyard I keep it real like I did back home on Rocky Top. GO VOLS.
That was one of the loudest I have ever heard Neyland Stadium. And those that don't believe how loud Neyland really is, look at the quotes of Cal quarterback, Nate Longshore, two weeks before this video was taken. As he put it: "I think the shear size of that place was intimidating. You can't hear anything. You go up and down the line, your wide receivers, your running backs, your tight ends, nobody can hear anything."
That sounds like a new tradition...there haven't been rappers that long. But that sounds like fun. We don't have anything special that's done at the end of the 3rd qtr. There have been discussions...Florida does something similar...at the end of the 3rd qtr, everyone, old and young alike, lock arms, sway, and sing "The Boys of Summer"...really loud! We have Rocky Top and sing it or the band plays it about 60 time each game. Most of our opponents hate it...our regulars, anyway.
I can think of a few things that beat that. 1, the spiral entrance, 2, the alma mater counter march, 3, the interlocking UT, 4, rocky top, 5, the Power T, 6, the opening of the T, (one of the most photographed moment in all of college football), 7, the CIRCLE DRILL. MMB is good. But don't try to take on the Pride.
Gotta love the UT pregame show! I have to say, though, that I'm a little curious about the editing of this video... play Florida's theme song in its entirety but cut parts of Rocky Top and most of the rest of the pregame show? I'd love to find a video out there that has the whole pregame.
You have you're opinion, I have mine. I find the Iron Bowl to be a better rivalry. The Army Navy rivalry might be the best though, with more storied tradition behind it.
You should. There aren't any full videos of this Pregame on youtube that I know of, but if you saw the whole thing, you'd have a hard time choosing which is your favorite. have you seen the circle drill?
Badly. :-) And to be quite honest, I think Tennessee's dismal home record might even have a bit to do with that. They get too nervous over their own excitement.
when they were playing something other than hip hop, the blue band sounded nice. But, their pregame and certainly their halftime show came up well short of the Pride of the Southland.
Agree exactly with what this guys saying. from what I see on here. Blue Band def doesn't beat Tennessee and this is coming from someone how isn't a huge fan of Tennessee. I was at the Ohio State-Penn State game in 2005 and there was nothing that gave me chills about either bands pregame, mainly because JoePa is too old to let a tradition such as pregame for the bands happen because the turf was a little wet.
There is NO alcohol served in any College stadium in the South...will never happen. I don't leave the stadium either during a game, but at GA, you can leave after the beginning of the 3rd qtr and return with a ticket stub. I have season tickets so I don't have to pay more than face value. I have 4 seats, so I've got a tidy sum wrapped up in tickets. I wouldn't have it any other way...
Did they sell alcohol at the stadium or are you talking about sneaking it in? Another thing, if you leave the stadium for any reason, you have to have a ticket to get back in...no exeptions. Tickets are hard enough to get as it is...
Congrats to Wisco btw they are not a bad team at all and I'm sure you have a good pre game. However, it's just different in the SEC. How about fans stalking their Coaches. Some Arkansas fan used the freedom of information act to get Houston Nutt's phone records. Like I said it's a whole different deal down here. People LIVE for football.
@PooPoo2U First off, I would like to point out that it is spelled NeyLAND! Don't mess with the General. Second, Tennessee has been playing football for almost 120 years, and we have had 22 football coaches. So if you take these last two off (kiffin and dooley), that's 118 years with 20 coaches. That's about 6 years a coach. So next time you open your mouth and try to burn a program as rich and productive as my orange clad gladiators, DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!!!!! GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!
I'd have to check the facts on that, but i wouldn't think Wisconsin has had a program longer than most SEC schools, maybe i'm wrong. As for your list of NFL players, that's not very impressing to me. You could take pretty much any SEC school, excluding Vandy and a couple of others, and come up with a better list.
111,000 of the quietest fans in the country. Y'all might have the biggest stadium in the country but it doesn't compare to our gameday atmosphere. I've seen videos of games at 'The Big House" and it sounds pitiful not even when y'all are singing your famous fight song. So Michigan can't even compare to UT or any other SEC school for that matter. GO VOLS!
you've got the typical mindset of "louder is better." LSU's got a great sound, but especially in their pregame, they can't match the precision drill, discipline, and tradition of the Pride. Of course you think LSU's pregame is better. You're biased.
How boring...and you call yourself a fan. If you have never attended a game at Neyland, it's something you should do before you die. Sporting News ranked Neyland the #1 stadium to watch a football game. And the gameday experience if second to none. The SEC leads the nation in attendance EVERY year. Come on down for the ultimate TN gameday... the traditions, the band, the fans...nothing like it in the world.
Yeah...I'm pretty sure I can spell. I like the generalization though. It makes you look ignorant. I'm assuming, since you sound so certain, that you've been to every stadium and your assessment is in no way biased. I'm not saying that Camp Randall isn't a good place to see a football game, but your total disregard for SEC fan support is ridiculous. Come to a game in Neyland Stadium or the Swamp then we'll talk.
I laugh at Michigan vs Ohio St. and Notre Dame.... YAWN. How about Auburn vs Alabama in the Iron Bowl, or UT vs Alabama the third saturday in October. Maybe the Worlds Largest Cocktail? How bout that? Keep watching your lousy Big 10 football. You're just missing out on REAL football. Oh and by the way, how did Ohio State do vs Florida in the national championship this year?
who do you like? you haven't told us that yet.You r just jealous cause we probably beat the crap out of who you like so you have to make stuff up.I've looked at polls and we are always in the top 3 loudest stadiums.Over the past 9 years,we avg 105,000 people every home game.and ive been to LSU and to Gainesville, its not as loud.and i was at that LSU game your talking about,we got beat, thats why it wasn't as loud. You should've come to the Cal game, now that was noise.
Im from St Louis..And I love this song!! Makes me wish I lived there..I love Tennessee!! Just got back from Pigeon Forge TN..Best Place to visit!!
One of the greatest moments in my life was opening the T for the first time against Fresno State in 2003.

Its so cool to see those halfsteps performed with military precision!
gave me chills!!! Can't find that atmosphere anywhere else, even the so-called "big house" can't match that.
Rocky Top you'll always be home sweet home to me....
GA Fan here....this is official, badass pregame..im jealous step up Redcoat Band

TN has had that distinction before and I'm not sure it's one to be proud of. They are not talking about having fun at a football game!
That sounds like a new tradition...there haven't been rappers that long. But that sounds like fun. We don't have anything special that's done at the end of the 3rd qtr. We are the Champions ... Roll Tide Roll ...
yup i do... i'm pretty much shaking the first home game of every season.
The SEC is a Tradition of one ... It is untouchable by any other conference ...
life is orange and white and im bleeding orange
GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish you had more shots of the majorettes........
I don't go Tennessee but I really like there fight Song! GO VOLS!
I want to be a majorette for UT so bad!!!
I hope you made it. Go Vols
Peyton had a field day that game, LOL

Right...................this is the real deal.

Right now, I'm too tired to argue with you, but a good Memphis style Barbeque is really hard to beat...even by a Brat! Just kidding........
Congrats to Wisco btw they are not a bad team at all and I'm sure you have a good pre game. However, it's just different in the SEC. How about fans stalking their Coaches. yeah, that's why LSU beat us so bad the last time we were there. Oh wait...
@gcox1993
hell yeah i cant wait either
life is orange and white and im bleedin orange
The only history in that is media hype. That's as true today as it ever was. But on the field, those schools could never compete in the SEC.
you better not be guessin
Ha ha ha I never thought of it that way...but I do hate the Gators!
GO VOLS!
Laugh Out Loud ... Were you just born ...
@allpeeps4me > > That's right ... Roll Tide Roll ...
I'm pretty sure he meant to say "good" show. This guy seems very pro-Pride.

@PooPoo2U Im a UGA fan, but I hate stupidity. You say they cant keep a coach there for a year. Look up the name Phillip Fulmer!
Why do they do that?
i farted

If you think that the Big Ten is so much better than the SEC why are you even looking at an SEC school's video??
@PooPoo2U then whats the difference hahah
PU..lease
LSU's pregame is way better

Predictable. Unoriginal. Boring.
