  • Micaela was a 6th grade English teacher in a Title 1 charter school in Astoria, New York. She wanted to be a teacher for her whole life, and comes from a family of educators. She earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership from John Hopkins in 2023, but left her field because of the multitude of factors driving teacher burnout in America. She is a remarkable teacher who has inspired her students. Her story should be told because we need to change a system that causes this passionate and dedicated educator to quit.
