placing it on a piece of wood is not "slow" .. You should probably let it heat up to 150 - 200 depending on the solder used then use a hot air gun to bridge the last few degrees, until it flows. Then, place a couple of metal bars on your hot plate and move the pcb on there so it's lifted off the plate about 1 or 2 cm. let it cool there. Going from soak to reflow temperature can be done fast , manually. cooling down on the plate , still quite fast, but not instantaneous like the wood bar. after a minute or 2 you can then take it off the metal bars on the plate. saying "let it cool down slowly" like a mantra doesn't make it happen magically.
@@alejandroperez5368 google "solder paste graph" ,pick any of the results, from the peak you will see a last slant down in all of them of usually around 2 minutes going from 2XX to room temperature. To get the bond advertised by the manufacturer you need to follow that curve.
