Wow, I love that little baby goat with the while stripe all around its belly, black rear end and brown and black front, beautiful! I was born in sulfur in 1950 and In the 50s mom took picture of a Silver frost. Everything frozen the snow was at least two feet deep maybe 3. Stay warm kids. Wish I was there. Oh that Leskee is such an attention hound.
The winter is cold this year.but the winters when I was young were colder. I live in western north Caroline the weather is a different cold than in the northern state.the house I lived in did not have Insulation or sheet rock. It was a plain wood house.we had a fireplace and a wood cook stove this was in 1948 until1958. Stay safe and warm god bless the family. May god look after the puppies

Sure hope you feel better soon Kevin. Dogs that live inside can’t take the super freezing cold on their paw pads. My big German Shepard was struggling outside in 6 above temps. She normally loves the snow. When they lift their paws up like that, the frigid temps feels like they are burning. Sure hope Kora can wait till warmer weather. We can hear how cold it is, the snow squeaks.

Have you checked to make sure you don't have Covid? My first symptom when I got Covid a year and a half ago was a horrible sore throat! And it disappeared as fast as it came on, about 4 days later. Then it progressed into more common symptoms.

Cora is probably getting more protective of just about everything now that she's getting ready to birth. IMO
You right did you see her standing back and watching Bo in her food 2 weeks ago she would of been on him in a heartbeat.
Skeeter probably doesn’t have paws built for snow and it’s getting packed between his toes. Sled dogs wear special boots to protect their feet. The pattern is on line. You could make some for the little guy. Just a thought.

Hopefully you feel better, Kevin. Rachel, stay healthy. You have to watch with torches when you thaw your frozen hydrants, the seals in the inner workings can overheat and then you have leakage and if your hydrants are not rebuildable you have to dig it up to replace. We know by experience. Here in Ohio our hydrants are at least three feet deep with a gravel drain because without a large gravel drain they freeze. Stay warm !
Put some extra straw and a board around that area

Is it normal for y’all to get snow each winter? I’m in Monroe LA and we hardly ever get snow but we did get a few inches of sleet the same day y’all got snow. Businesses closed as well as schools. It was so weird bc no noise for a couple of days from vehicles on the road. Today is Friday and it’s 60 degrees ! Go figure!

Put the cam collar in the barn near the box where Cora will stay in or the corner where they are sleeping.

You can take Cora’s temperature each day to get her normal temperature, it drops about 24hrs before labour starts, sometimes it’s sooner but it gives you a good indication when they are coming ❤
Great advice. My experience is the temp goes to around 98 before birth in 24 hours

When the barometric pressure drops like when approaching storms, it will throw them into labor. So beware, she may be having pups before you know it. You should be prepared for just about any scenario.
I think she was in labor when he was feeding.
@@jennygabbard6421 these owners give me every confidence in their care of and vigilance of monitoring their fur kids. They’ll know when their dogs in labour and needs their presence before any of the viewers.

My wife and kids reside in middle TN. We've had snow before, but it usually melts the next day. We got 9" of snow and it's day six and still on the ground. Currently (Sat, 1/20) at 11AM, it's 9 degrees outside. When the snow first arrive, our two doberman's barked at the snow for 10 minutes. They never saw snow...like this. Now, they love playing in it. I'm more worried about the extreme cold. It's sunny outside and doesn't quite feel as cold as it is. But once a wind comes or a cloud blocks that sun. It's brutal outside.
Y’all are such loving family to your livestock. I’ve been so worried about Kora and the baby goats. Do you think Kora and Leeskie realize Kora is having puppies? Kevin you got to get some Mucinex and Vicks formula 44 and big comforter to keep rub around your neck and gargle with really warm salted water. We have been having ice 🧊 cold weather and a little snow. 🥶I do worry about Ms. Kora, and I hope she’s not afraid. I think she’s going to have maybe will have 4-5. I am sorry you are sick. I will pray for you. We are finally thawing out here after 9 days of horrible weather. We had snow, freezing rain and more freezing rain. Doing chores on a sheet of ice was not fun. I am glad it is over for now.
Kevin... a very accurate way to tell if labor is about to begin or even started is her temperature. Having worked closely with a breeder, this is one of the things that remains consistent in every case,

About 24 hours before the beginning of labor, there will be a temporary drop in the body temperature. Normal temperature is 101 to 102.5 degrees Fahrenheit. Twenty-four hours prior to labor, the temperature can drop to 98 to 99 F.

I just saw a post of Kora laying in her birthing box in barn, Awesome!! Kevin you are to be congratulated on knowing your animals, though you admitted you were new to birthing new pups, you reached out to your viewers and found some helpful/useful information. I watched you construct the box and set up heat and sure enough Kora moved herself into it, versus the corner she had been sleeping. Well done Kevin and Rachel!! Do you watch the weather channel Kevin? Next week you are getting freezing rain and a lot of it. So maybe you should put the collar cam on some one else over with Cora. Or put one in the barn. We just had snow event #2. Probably have 8 inches between the 2. Deep refreeze tonight and tomorrow. Welcome to Maryland weather. But we haven't had snow for over 700 days. I hate when people say that because I’ve lived in Wv my entire life dealing with cold and snow EVERY YR FOR 40YRS AND I STILL CANT DEAL!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I’m a summer lover and this crap is for the birds!!!! We have about 6inches at the moment with more coming tonight!

Cold here, too, got down into the teens. We are certainly not used to it - lots of broken pipes, lots of trees down due to east winds, just starting to get out and about. I'm not - still stuck inside for a week now.

Kevin take half of the top off of the puppy birthing box. This way you can keep a good eye on all the pups and Kora. She Is a 1st time Mother. If Kora has her puppies in another place you can move her puppies to the birthing box. Kora will follow you she is a very good girl. ❤❤❤❤

Hi Rachel! If you turn that little plastic doghouse top 180° I bet the baby goats will get in there. The opening to it is facing the barn door opening and I think they are feeling the wind coming in and that might be why they don’t like it.
