I sure miss these guys. I've returned to The Tarnished Gold many times during the pandemic, such a comforting record in ways I can't explain. And now 20 years on we have a deluxe version of the debut with "new" songs (as in, new to me). But c'mon guys, you got one more album in you?
These guys can do no wrong...I love this band so much!

Yo im calling everyone to pay specific attention to the singler /BASSist. He deserves more credit.
He is doing amazing if you take into consideration the fact that he is the leader singer aswell. you may notice his Pretty sweet Paul McCartney inspired walking melodic fills. Seriously adds so much.
His precision Bass pickups only cut through the mix cause he got that good technique. he knows where the sweet spot is on the body of his bass and where to pick for super consistent notes

Typically bass is a foundation.. but i mean damn he made it work great.

(majority of "bassists" in the world) need to step it up bigtime.
If this guy can sing AND play and dance then we need to be better. Think about it.. the bass is an after thought to the vocals. That being said.
BASSISTS..Lets not just play the bare

anyway take this bassline for example..the singer actually sat down and put thought into the bassline. This is coming from someone who sees alot of local artists "bassists" half ass boring shit.

I dig your rant, though i'm a guitarist myself and a singer too... The bass lines rademaker put into beachwood sparks music are crucial, being their first lp the better example of what i'm tellin u. Btw this band just smokes pretty god damn hot. Back to your rant, though i listen to a lot of bands where bass players add crucial licks to the bands music, and indeed are responsible for the band s swagger... Yes, we need more creative players all the way, what's not to love on some great bass line here and there? All the best, bro
