While I listening to this song, it brings back some very sad moments of those days. Still this song gives me goosebumps after all those years.. Such an amazing beautiful song and the lyrics describes my life way back in the 70"s.. I had a forbidden relationship with an Italian man who I lost but still appears in my dreams quite often. I never forgot him, he is still my everything my soulmate.. I truly loved him with all my heart. We both love to hear you sing those beautiful love songs Cliff.. 💕
Walking in Woolworths in December 1981, looking for a Christmas present for my girlfriend, and this record was playing....I had not heard it before...and I thought....WOW! how brilliant is this?, I then walked over to the record section and bought the album on cassette, I still have it, then bought a clock/radio/lamp for my girlfriend, a month later we broke up but hey...good times and bloody good music.
Many years ago I had the privilege to spend an afternoon with Pete Sills, the guy wrote this song. He gave me some great advice about starting out in the music business.
This is my favourite song of all-time from Cliff Richard, taken from his album Every Face Tells a Story, originally released in March 1977 on the EMI label and produced by Bruce Welch [from the Shadows].The reason I love this song, because in the beginning of the song,it reminds me like a Chopin melody such as one of his Nocturnes, and then the strings come in after the first lyrics from Cliff, and a good build-up from the backing vocals as well as the beautiful melody from the oboe, and released as a single and reached no.46 in the UK charts,as far as I remember, but I still love this song so much.
A cold dark December in 1981....my FS1E ready to go on the trip to my gf house....how odd that sounds to me now at 55yrs old....if i knew then what i know now!!
Изумительная баллада в исполнении Клиффа Ричарда. Слушаю со светлой грустью в душе, вспоминаю школьные годы и не только. Наталья.

Yes, I definitely agree with you and it`s still the best and I do like the intro from the piano so much.

При всём уважении к Клифу Ричарду, Яак Йоала поёт эту песню гораздо проникновеннее и на русском и на эстонском.
Superbe !
